Autonomous Crossword Puzzles for Android Platform
Buno, Petr ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with algorithms for search in the recognized text of the captured image and it discusses the development of applications for the Android mobile platform. This paper presents the libraries for text recognition in image and existing algorithms to search for text string. The practical part is devoted to the design and implementation of applications for autonomous search crossword puzzles from photos taken by the user. The teoretical part describes the important tools for developing applications for the Android platform, the principles of text recognition from the image and puzzle WordFind rules. At the end the paper summarizes the results and evaluation to find success solution, intuitive GUI and overall usability. In the conclusion, the evaluation of results and outlines possible application extension.
Procedurally Generated City
Hájíček, Lukáš ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Šolony, Marek (advisor)
This work is about procedural generation of cities. There are defined the different stages of city development and existing methods used to achieve them. The following describes the procedures used to implement a system capable of generating cities. The resulting generator is able to generate cities based on given parameters such as density of streets.
Optical Field Evaluations for Hologram Synthesis
Fedorko, Matúš ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
The primary concern of this work is computer generated holography, in particular accelerating computation of synthetic holograms by means of modern-day massively parallel graphics chips. It starts by introducing fundamental holography principles together with mathematical and physical concepts behind it. Following discussion then deals with OpenCL, which is a relatively new, but well recognized standard for GP-GPU programming. Finally, the last two chapters of this work give an overview of problem analysis and its implementation in C++.
Optical Field Calculations in GP-GPU
Srnec, Erik ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
This work describes a relatively new technique designed to write highly parallel programs, that name is OpenCL. It is intended for both GPU and CPU and other parallel processors. Libraries used by the processor architecture, which includes a large number of small cores. These cores are not as comprehensive as conventional processors and is therefore suitable for calculations, which are many and they are simple. It is this property could, under certain conditions, accelerate the calculation of the hologram, namely the calculation of the optical field. While the calculation itself is simple, but the amount of processed data is large and therefore slow. The work also contain the basic concepts of explanation of optical and digital holography.
Fusion of Procedural and Keyframe Animation
Klement, Martin ; Pečiva, Jan (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
The goal of this work is to create an application, which will combine procedural and keyfram animations with subsequent visualization. Composition of this two different animations techniques is used to animate a virtual character. To combine this two techniques one starts with interpolations from keyframe animation and then enchance them by procedural animations to properly fit into the characters surroundings. This procedural part of animation is obtained by using forward and inverse kinematics. Whole application is written in C++, uses GLM math library for computations and OpenGL and GLUT for final visualization.
Recognition of Pieces on Chessboard from Photography on Mobile Device
Tábi, Roman ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Sochor, Jakub (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is a mobile application for Android platform, which recognises chessboard pieces from photography of the chessboard. Application uses photography from gallery and determine the content of every single chessboard cell, thus if it contains black or white piece, or if it is empty. The task is solved in two stages. First is the detection of chessboard lines to determine the position of chessboard cells, second is the detection of chessboard pieces. The result of this thesis is working Android application.
Pathtracing on GPU
Březina, Karel ; Kobrtek, Jozef (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the acceleration of rendering algorithm pathtracing. Thesis's goal is demonstration and performance comparison between implementation on CPU and GPU. Both implementations will be discussed and compared between themselves. Furthermore, will be describe possibilities of extending existing application.
3D Shape Interpolation
Zouhar, Marek ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with creation of a~tool for progressive interpolation of shape of a~3D polygonal mesh. Used methods take inspiration mainly in technique Manual Landmarks and use parametrization of an object to a~sphere. The result of this thesis is an addon for an open-source modelling program Blender, which automatically creates an animation of shape deformation based on two input models.
Automatic Selection of Representative Pictures
Bank, Tomáš ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This paper belongs to field of computer vision. It deals with clustering photographs by content and selection of representative one. In this paper is described a few methods and approaches to reach the goal, and proposal of algorithm comes from those approaches. The example of usage this application can be selecting a representative photo from large albums.
Shadow Mapping: Shadow Filtering in OpenGL
Brída, Ján ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Kobrtek, Jozef (advisor)
The content of this bachelor thesis discusses generation, and filtration ways of shadows in 3D applications. It describes possibilities to surpress the discretization phenomenon using certain techniques, and documents the artifacts typical for them. The reader will also learn about their performance, and quality differences, thereby being able to judge offered implementations.
