The role of nurse from physician perspective in pharmaceutical care
Poláková, Lucie ; Hocková, Jana (advisor) ; Švárová, Beáta (referee)
Introduction to the problem: Pharmacotherapy is a very complex and specific topic. Many of healthcare professionals, including nurses, are involved in pharmacotherapy management. Although this field is ensured by various legal standards, some competences of nurses are not clearly defined. The primary aim of this research was to analyse the current role of the nurse in pharmacotherapy out of a physician's perspective. Methodology: The data as a part of the multicentric project was collected in the form of semi- structured in-depth interviews with selected physicians also called key-informants. The obtained data were analysed by open coding followed by categorisation. Finally, SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis was used to assess the opportunities and threats, which are related to determination of the ideal role of the nurse in drug administration. Results: Current practice shows that nurses are performing activities beyond their competences. Therefore, I consider legislative changes in this area appropriate. At many departments is not cooperation with the clinical pharmacist well established, moreover in some cases doctors are not interested in it. In contrast, the literature also the workplaces, where the clinical pharmacist is part of the team reports many benefits....
Discourse Relations in Czech
Poláková, Lucie ; Hajičová, Eva (advisor) ; Hoffmannová, Jana (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee)
This doctoral thesis is devoted to linguistic analysis of discourse relations as one of the aspects of discourse coherence. Discourse relations are semantic relations holding between propositions in a discourse (discourse arguments). The aim of the thesis is a complex description of discourse relations in Czech and its application in an annotation scheme in the Prague Dependency Treebank. The thesis is divided into three parts: The first one is focused on the theoretical description of discourse relations and on analysis of adequacy of various methodological concepts in corpus processing. The second part describes in detail the proposed scheme for the annotation of discourse relations and the process of the corpus build- up including the evaluation of consistency of the annotated data. Finally, in the last part of the thesis, we address some problematic issues arisen with the employment the proposed scheme and look for their possible solutions.

The role of PLD in early phases of aluminium toxicity
Poláková, Lucie ; Schwarzerová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Malínská, Kateřina (referee)
Aluminium toxicity is the main limiting factor in crop production on acid soils. The main symptom of aluminium toxicity is a rapid inhibition of root growth, but the mechanism of root growth cessation remains unclear. In this diploma thesis we deal with the question of whether phospholipases PLDα1 and PLDδ may play a role in the mechanism of aluminium toxicity. We compared the responses of plants lacking PLDα and PLDδ with WT plants. Growth analysis of roots was performed in hydroponic conditions. The most sensitive part of roots was transient zone in which cells were dying earlier. It was further found that pldα1 plants were less sensitive on aluminium toxicity because their roots showed less growth inhibition than WT. Pldδ plants did not differ from WT plants in their response to aluminum. During further analysis of the pldα1 reactions, it was found that the root cells were capable of cell expansion during aluminum toxicity, and the cellular malformations were formed on the roots. This phenomenon was associated with faster reorientation and even depolymerization of cortical microtubules in response to toxic aluminium in pldα plants compared to WT plants. The results indicated that PLDα1 molecule affects the stability of cortical microtubules. Microtubules were less stable and they depolymerized...
