Knowledge representation for expert systems
Lekeš, Pavel ; Sáblík, Václav (referee) ; Polách, Petr (advisor)
The objective of this work is to analyze using of the first order logic for reasoning in knowledge based systems. Merit of the predicate logic is its relative simplicity in matter of algorithm development, where it is possible to decide about validity of a sentence written in first order logic language, by using formal rules without any connection to real meanings of logical variables. In Expert systems, the first order logic is used to derivate new formulas from given axioms, where previously derived formulas are included to the axioms as well. Its process of derivation of implicit believes from explicitly given facts.
Knowledge representation methods
Verbík, Josef ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Jirsík, Václav (advisor)
This thesis deals with methods of knowledge representation within expert systems. The thesis describes the expert systems and their history. Furthermore, it provides a description of individual types of expert systems and their components. Following this description, there is a characteristic of the knowledge representation. These characteristic has been divided into two parts. The first part describes the requirements neccessary for efficient knowledge representation. The second part describes the following individual methods of knowledge representation: rules, frames, semantic nets and predicate logic.
Expert system
Šimková, Jana ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Jirsík, Václav (advisor)
The main point of the work is an identification with NPS32 expert system, the describtion of the ways of getting knowledges. By choosing a suitable district for the expert system aplication, the suggestion of the knowledge base for the district will have been the result of the work.
Instance based learning
Martikán, Miroslav ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Honzík, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is specialized in instance based learning algorithms. Main goal is to create an application for educational purposes. There are instance based learning algorithms (IBL), nearest neighbor algorithms and kd-trees described theoretically in this thesis. Practical part is about making of tutorial application. Application can generate data, classified them with nearest neighbor algorithm and is able of IB1, IB2 and IB3 algorithm testing.
Voice recognition of standard PILOT-CONTROLLER control commands
Kufa, Tomáš ; Polách, Petr (referee) ; Honzík, Petr (advisor)
The subject of this graduation thesis is an application of speech recognition into ATC commands. The selection of methods and approaches to automatic recognition of ATC commands rises from detailed air traffic studies. By the reason that there is not any definite solution in such extensive field like speech recognition, this diploma work is focused just on speech recognizer based on comparison with templates (DTW). This recognizor is in this thesis realized and compared with freely accessible HTK system from Cambrige University based on statistic methods making use of Hidden Markov models. The usage propriety of both methods is verified by practical testing and results evaluation.
Oscillators RC for higher frequency range
Polách, Petr ; Petržela, Jiří (referee) ; Dostál, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with RC oscillators applicable in higher frequency ranges with the use of modern active elements. For individual function blocks (conveyor, current feedback amplifier, operational transconductance amplifier, voltage feedback amplifier) suitable models are suggested for the circuit simulator PSpice covering their characteristics on various levels, from an ideal one up to the full description of parasitic effects. On the basis of the study of recommended literature and company documentation various oscillator connections of the ranks 2 and 3 are suggested. By analysis through computer (PSpice, SNAP) the fulfilment of oscillation conditions, onset of oscillations were verified and by means of suitable simulations the effects of the impact on the parasitic characteristics of active elements was examined. Finally there are two oscillator connections stated and verified by simulations with the possibility of electronic retuning.
Business Plan
Polách, Petr ; Dvořák, Jiří (advisor) ; Řepová, Helena (referee)
This master thesis aims to create a business plan for a fictitious company named Car 4 All which will provide car sharing services in Olomouc. Thesis includes four main parts - introduction, theoretical part, application part and conclusion. The theoretical part mainly describes the structure and procedure for writing a business plan and then focuses on corporate strategy. The practical part is already applying the methods and procedures described on the company. In this section was also made basic market research, competition analysis through Porter's five forces model. The key outcomes for the conclusion provides especially financial analysis and financial statements (e.g. balance sheet, profit and loss statement etc.). This master thesis also serves as my personal basis in case I will actually implemented this business plan.
Valuation of company Adelita s.r.o.
Polách, Petr ; Scholleová, Hana (advisor) ; Kouklík, Michal (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to determine market value of company Adelita, s.r.o. to January 1st 2015 for management of the company for potential sale of part of or whole company. Theoretical part will present methodologies for company valuation, practical part then financial and strategic analysis followed by creation of financial plan and valuation by method of discounted cash flow.
Brand Management
Polách, Petr ; Harantová, Monika (advisor) ; Hesková, Marie (referee)
In the first part of my bachelor's thesis on the theme "Brand management" are explained the theoretical aspects of brand management and this part also determines the basic concepts in this issue. The practical part of this bachelor's thesis deals with brand building and also with brand management in the company ALFUN Inc. In the last section are described in detail and explained the basic methods of brand valuation as an intangible asset.
Financial analysis of company Rodinný pivovar BERNARD, a.s.
Polách, Petr ; Špička, Jindřich (advisor) ; Čámská, Dagmar (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to judge of financial health of company Rodinný pivovar BERNARD, a.s. in period of years 2006 -- 2010. For this analysis were used ratios, analysis of bankrupt models, pyramidal decomposition of ROE and comparison intercompany to determine firms strenghts and weaknesses and make recomendations to improve companys condition. Financial analysis is elaborated for external user from data of annual reports.
