Effect of operating parameters of the boiler on presence of fine particles in flue gas
Košťál, Jan ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis is devoted to the issues of the formation of fine particles in dependents on the combustion parameters. The first part of thesis is review, which summarized the information about combustion process and about formation of the gaseous products and fine particles inside them which created during combustion process. The main content of thesis is realization of measurements of fine particles from combustion, in several types of the tested combustion devices. Next part is a description of used measurement devices, which used for measurement. Last chapters are focused on evaluation of results from the measurements, comparison of the measurements between themselves and the finding the existence of the dependence of the formation of fine particles on operational parameters of boiler. And all results are evaluated in the conclusion.
Hydrogen production
Kunický, Ondřej ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with the production of hydrogen by electrolysis. The introductory part describes the basic properties of hydrogen, the possibilities of its storage and transport, hydrogen safety, the hydrogen economics, and the impact on the environment. Greater attention is then paid to the current possibilities of using hydrogen and its production from fossil and renewable sources. The next part of this thesis deals with possibilities of increasing the efficiency of electrolysis and the control of its performance. At the end, there is a practical measurement of electrolyser and a calculation of the efficiency of hydrogen production by electrolysis.
Storage systems for renewable energy
Švácha, Filip ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to describe the current possibilities of storing electricity from renewable sources focusing on hydrogen technologies. In the first three parts, the question of energy sto-rage from renewable sources, the current energy storage options and the actual energy storage in hydrogen are discussed in the form of research. The last part is practical and its aim is to compare the current possibilities in designing a system that stores energy in hydrogen. Subsequently, the most favorable option is chosen and compared to other energy storage methods.
Off-grid system and container housing
Filka, Tomáš ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
This thesis sums up current possibilities of using renewable energy sources and addi-tional technologies which can be suitable for off-grid systems. Specifically, it describes the possibility of their application to the increasingly common container structures. The first part of this work contains information about history and present trends in the area of renewable energy sources and container housing. The second part shows a concept of such house, completely disconnected from the public grid. The results of this study allow basic insight into the problem and illustrate the practical application of acquired knowledge.
Assessment of investment in heating houses
Kučera, Cyril ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with using the appropriate system for reducing the primary thermal energy for heating in a family house. The components of the work is the calculation of heat losses of the house according to ČSN 06 0210. The main focus of the thesis is to compare various energy saving systems and calculation of their profitability.
Solar energy storage
Řehák, Pavel ; Pospíšil, Jiří (referee) ; Poláčik, Ján (advisor)
This thesis aims to find solution that deals with excess energy produced by solar systems. Main point in this Bachelor's thesis is to solve off-grid solar power system that is completely self-sufficient. Introduction examines how solar panels works and the best weather conditions of operating. Analytics part of this thesis focuses on basic information about types of power accumulation with their advantages and disadvantages. Practical part proposes system used and also mathematical solution of solar system.
Solid fuel boilers
Krolák, Michal ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The main goal of thesis is to make a recherche about solid fuel boilers. First part of thesis describes solid fuels and their properties. Second part is engaged on division of boilers used in homes. This part also expose fundamentals of fuel burning. Last part of thesis is dedicated to economical account of selected boilers.
Power to gas
Copek, Tomáš ; Poláčik, Ján (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with Power to Gas technology. In this concept electrical energy is used for hydrogen production via electrolysis. Hydrogen can be injected in limited amount into natural gas grid, used for power generation via fuel cells or as a reactant for methanation process. Characteristics of hydrogen and ways of hydrogen production, storage and transport are described. Fuel cells are described as a device which uses hydrogen for power production. Crucial part of this thesis consists of a description of Power to Gas concept and a design of Power to Gas unit with electrical power of 9,5 kW. Three different units were designed for three different times of day operation. Efficiency and economical assessment was carried out for these three Power to Gas units.
Hydrogen production
Poláčik, Ján ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Pospíšil, Jiří (advisor)
The thesis deals with water electrolysis focusing in particular on pulse electrolysis. The theoretical part characterizes hydrogen and its properties as well as the ways of its use and storage. It also analysis various methods of hydrogen generation. It examines in details water electrolysis and its energetic and chemical balance. There is also an evaluation of water electrolysis efficiency and its improvement followed by pulse electrolysis description. Laboratory equipment for direct current and pulsed direct current hydrogen production are suggested. Theoretical expectations are tested experimentally. Finally the thesis presents the results of measurements, compares and summarizes the data. It points out the contribution of this type of electrolysis with its effectiveness. It proposes uses of electrolysis and the subsequent research.
Heating of low-energy houses
Poláčik, Ján ; Moskalík, Jiří (referee) ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (advisor)
Low-energy houses are becoming more common and requested. This work describes possibilities and various ways of space heating in such houses. It also analyses specific energy sources, their availability as well as an environmental impact. The work includes a design of heating for a display low-energy house.
