Rail transport in practice
Poul, David ; Pluskal, Jaroslav (referee) ; Gregor, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with railway transport describes its role in combined transport and compare key aspects with road transport. As part of the diploma thesis, a detailed database of railway tracks in the Czech Republic was created, on which the route planner was built with the possibility of setting waypoints. The route planner also includes the implementation of exclusion activities. A comprehensive technical-economic model of railway transport was created with four calculation models and detailed investment planning, thanks to which is possible to assess whether the purchase or lease of train sets is more advantageous when making investment decisions. Furthermore, a technical-economic model for the branch line was created. The last section deals with the created transport model for the catchment area for 8 localities and 5 types of transported waste/commodities. The transport model was used to evaluate two selected areas – the South Moravian Region and Kolín.
Advanced optimisation model for circular economy
Pluskal, Jaroslav ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Šomplák, Radovan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with application optimization method in circular economy branch. The introduction is focused on explaining main features of the issue and its benefits for economy and environment. Afterwards are mentioned some obstacles, which are preventing transition from current waste management. Mathematical apparatus, which is used in practical section, is described in the thesis. Core of the thesis is mathematical optimization model, which is implemented in the GAMS software, and generator of input data is made in VBA. The model includes all of significant waste management options with respect to economic and enviromental aspect, including transport. Functionality is then demostrated on a small task. Key thesis result is application of the model on real data concerning Czech Republic. In conclusion an analysis of computation difficulty, given the scale of the task, is accomplished.
Engineering Process Optimization
Pluskal, Jaroslav ; Hrabec, Dušan (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with optimization with emphasis on Newsvendor model and its usage. An overview of basic terms and theory related to probability, mathematical analysis and optimization is mentioned at the beginning. The main aim of this thesis is to formulate a Newsvendor problem in its basic form and then demonstrate the impact of various demand distributions. After that the gained knowledge is used to solve a project of factory, for which we want to set optimal parameters. Software GAMS is used to model and solve the project.
