David Oistrach and his achievements for Soviet violin music in 20th century

This bachelor thesis is about David Oistrach, great violin virtuoso born in the beginning of 20th century and his achievements for Soviet violin music in 20th century. In this thesis I am writing about his life as well as about how the author was introduced to the interpreter of his music and their mutual influence, which in many cases has positive impact on the creation of his composition, which wouldn’t come into being if it wasn’t for David Oistrach. Included are also his record, some from concerts where David Oistrach had his openings. Thanks to his concerts these compositions became world-known and played.

Influences of Playing the Violin on Health

The bachelor thesis “Influences of Playing the Violin on Health” deals with violin playing issues from musical and physiological point of view. The aim of the work is to introduce most common health problems that trouble professional violinists and to point out health hazards of orchestral player’s profession. A reader is informed about a basic posture of particular parts of the body during playing the violin. There are also mentioned reasons of various character that negatively influence physical and psychological point of a musician and there is a summary of chosen health complications, mainly focused on a musculoskeletal system of a player. Final chapter is dedicated to the prevention of violinists’ health problems that should become a natural part of their lives.

Aram Khachaturian violin concerto with orchestra

This thesis deals with the violin works of Aram Khachaturian. My thesis is divided
into six chapters. In the first chapter I present a brief biography and basic
overview of his works. The next chapter deals with the Violin Concerto. In the
following chapter I compare different interpretations of Violin Concerto. In the
last two chapters I write concisely about other violin works of Khachaturian –
Sonata for Violin and Piano, Dance for Violin and Piano, Song – Poem, Nocturno
and Rhapsody – Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.

VIOLIN COMPOSITION'S OF SLOVAK COMPOSERS, STUDENT'S OF VÍTĚZSLAV NOVÁK

This thesis gives detailed description of selected violin pieces by composers, that studied in Prague under Vítězslav Novák. Mentioned composers are Alexander Moyzes, Dezider Kardoš and Eugen Suchoň, all of which represented Slovakian modernism. The goal of the thesis is to bring awareness of these pieces to general public as they are often times unknown. Analyses include historical circumstances that heavily influenced these pieces, interesting performance details and also excerpts of the sheet music.
Thesis comes with a CDs, that includes all analyzed pieces.

Violin sonatas of Prokofiev

This thesis deals with the violin sonatas of Sergei Prokofiev. My thesis is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter I present a brief biography of Sergei Prokofiev. The next four chapters deal with the Sonatas No. 1 and No. 2 for Violin and Piano, Sonata for Violin Solo and Sonata for two Violins. In each chapter I write about circumstances of history. Chapters are divided into subsections. Each subsection is devoted to the analysis of one movement.

Stage fright. Psychological preparation for concert performance

This work discusses problems of the stage fright before and during of a concert performance. It is examined assumptions and conditions which gives possibility for its creation. It is discussed psychological conditions which are essential for convincing musical performance. Motivation, concentration and experience are the most important components of successful interpreter. The key component for balanced musician is a very deep concentration. However, many people understand this term wrongly. One of the purpose of this work is to show its importance and influence on musician.
It is created a questionnaire, so I could find out how students of musical schools are dealing with issues of the stage fright. The goal is as widely as possible examin the problem of stage fright and find out the main causes of psychological problems.
At the end of my work I write about importance of psychological preparation and I suggest some of mental and breath excersises.
