Development of environmental friendly materials
Peterková, Jitka ; ,, Milan Machatka, (referee) ; Plachý, Jan (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (referee) ; Zach, Jiří (advisor)
Increasing demand for new progressive construction materials requires development of modern environmentally friendly materials with excellent end-use properties and reasonable price. One of the main objectives of material research in building industry is using renewable resources of raw materials of industrial waste for development of new construction materials. Current trend of thermal insulation of building constructions results in development of environmentally friendly insulation materials based on renewable material resources from agriculture and stock farming, which could became alternative for current common use insulation materials in the future. The thesis describes research and development of insulation materials based on natural fibres of agricultural origin; in particular fibres of hemp, flax and jute. Hydrothermal behavior of developed materials is studied including computational simulation of behavior of researched materials after building in the construction.

One-layer mechanical fastening waterproofing systems are often used within the compositions of flat roofs. Although in case of plastic based systems it is a common solution, for asphalt felts it handles about a relatively new approach, since the application of asphalt has a long history in the building industry. There are some key factors which all of the one-layer mechanically fastening systems should meet, especially water-resistance and resistance against the suction of wind. The application of dynamic loads on the joints may damage the bonds, which may lead to leakage of water. In particular the most delicate locations are the anchoring points at places where the waterproofing sheets are not connected mutually and the wind is captured. The characteristics of mechanically fastening waterproofing membranes may be verified by a specific test which is able to simulate the winds suction force, nonetheless it is quite expensive. Throughout the solution of the presented work an equipment was designed to observe the behaviour of roof compositions on smaller segments while taking into account the fastening elements, thus bringing the results closer to reality. In the first phase the presented dissertation aims to look at the possibilities of comparison of mechanically fastening bitumen reinforced sheets in a way, that they would show the extent to which the joints depend on the parameters of bitumen sheet - like the quality of the bitumen mass, the type bearing linen, the thickness of the layer or just the width of strip overlap. In the next phase the research was focused on the extent at which the strength of the resulting mechanically fastened joints is affected by the placement of fastenings elements within the strip overlap, including the possibilities when the distances from the edges of the bitumen strip cannot be maintained or because of improper geometry of fastening elements. The measurements were performed on both variants of flat roofs, thermally insulated
Systems of mechanically fastened flexible roof waterproofing membranes
Stodůlka, Jindřich ; Plachý, Jan (referee) ; Petříček, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is going to concentrate on the issues associated with the technology of mechanically anchored coating waterproofing of roofs. Today the mechanical anchoring belongs to the most widespread way of how to stabilize the layers of roofing material against the effects of wind uplift particularly in indoor buildings. However some malfunctions occur more and more frequently which cause leaking into the constructions or even the destruction of the whole roof in the worse cases. The practical part of this thesis is going to concentrate on the fasterners which belong to the most important elements of the mechanical anchored system. The aim of the experimental measurement is to draw a comparison of the quality of fasteners which are distributed on the Czech market. Thereafter the obtained figures are going to be compared with the theoretical calculating procedures according to the valid designed standards.
Certified method for evaluation of biological efficacy of controlled atmospheres and fumigation in silos using biotest kits: methodology for workers in DDD, agriculture and food industry
Aulický, Radek ; Stejskal, Václav ; Plachý, Jan
Evaluation of the efficacy of controlled atmosphere or insecticide fumigation treatment of stored commodities is very difficult when these materials are located in silo bins. The main difficulty is to take measurements and samples within the entire commodity (vertical-silo) profile. Until now, there are no standard procedures and tools that would allow the evaluation of efficacy of controlled atmospheres under such situations. These methodical deficiencies are some of the main reasons why t controlled atmosphere methods are not commonly used in practice, although they are – under many conditions - relatively cost-effective disinfection measures. This methodology is the first Czech set of procedures for the proper preparation, application and evaluation of bioassays that can be used for evaluation of the efficacy of controlled atmospheres and fumigation in silo bins cells. The methodology also shows some practical examples and experimental results on how to use bioassay. The certified methodology was prepared with the financial support of the NAZV agency and is the technological an scientific output of the project QJ1310057.

Power and power motive as a psychological construct
PLACHÝ, Jan
Nowadays, power is an often talked about subject. However, research on the motivation for power has been on the decline since the eighties which is most likely due to the negative connotations associated with it. The objective of this thesis is to translate into the Czech language the most crutial articles on the subject of the need for power as a psychological construct, focusing particularly on the works of McClelland and Winter. I am going to decribe the foundations of motivation as well as its development. Moreover, I am also going to mention the various types of power and how they usually manifest. In congruence with the social context, I am also going to explain the Complementarity and mimicry principle which can be commonly found in the interpersonal communication. Within the bounds of the psychology of personality, I am going to observe motivation from the point of view of Alfred Adler, Karen Horney and Erich Fromm as well as outline the foundations of the Self-determination theory and Competence motivation. Due to the fact that the above mentioned motive manifests in a similar way to the Narcisistic personal disorder, I am also going to elaborate on that.
Analysis of reconstruction of a flat roof on the villa in Brno
Novotný, Miloslav ; Šuhajda, Karel ; Sobotka, Jindřich ; Petříček, Tomáš ; Gintar, Jan ; Plachý, Jan
The article described the problem of reconstruction of the flat roof on the building of the house in Brno. Roof slope is approximately 2.5%, was the main waterproofing bitumen. Request builder was additionally insulate the roof and lay new waterproofing layers. New thermal insulation should be made of polystyrene and a new bituminous waterproofing should be. The reconstruction, should also change the original sheet metal components with new ones from titanium zinc. The builder chose local construction company that carried out the reconstruction, according to their own design. When reviewing the lightning was detected uneven surface waterproofing. This was a fundamental stimulus to control the reconstruction of the roof deck.
