The significance of ovarian cancer cell chemosensitivity testing.

Ovarian cancer is a leading cause of death from gynecologic malignancies. Most ovarian carcinomas are diagnosed in an advanced stage. Surgical treatment promotes a high response rate combined with chemotherapy. However, two-thirds of patients experience a relapse, followed by a development of chemoresistance, and, subsequently, death. The biological diversity of individual types of ovarian carcinoma is so varied, that a single treatment regimen can not be considered as a fitting treatment for all patients. Various studies focus on the individualisation of cancer treatment. This study targets the in vitro sensitivity testing in ovarian carcinoma cells on cytostatics using the MTT test. We presume that this method could be utilised in clinical decision-making process. Between the years 2006 and 2010, we have acquired tumor tissue and malignant ascites from a total of 55 patients enrolled in our study and analyzed those samples in vitro for chemosensitivity / chemoresistance using the MTT test. The aim of this research work was to asses chemosensitivity of ovarian carcinoma cells and compare these results with clinical parameters. Carcinoma cells displayed in vitro chemosensitivity to cisplatin in 67% of patients. Tumor cells of 22% patients proved to be sensitive to carboplatin and 16% to paclitaxel....

Thesis title: Social Networks as an Essential Part of the Gambrinus league's Marketing Communication Objective Main objective of this thesis is creation of marketing manual on various social networks intended for marketing communication of the Gambrinus league. It is supposed to provide flexibly applicable tool representing communication manual for clubs of primary football league in the Czech Republic. As partial objectives of this work are stipulated analysis and assessment of individual clubs' official Facebook profiles and their development. Further objectives are identification and compilation of overview representing other platforms of social networks and its evaluation considering their potential benefits for marketing communication of the Gambrinus league. Methodology Qualitative and quantitative methods of marketing research were used for the purposes of presented thesis. Qualitative methods comprehend expert dialogue, case study and observation. As qualitative research methods were applied statistical data analysis and development study. Repair of the turbine housing

This diploma thesis deals with the repair of a steam backpressure single-stage turbine. This thesis is assigned to a specific Spilling turbine case. A revisional report of this turbine with repair or exchange suggestions of demaged turbine parts is processed. In addition, a simulation of the contact pressure is carried out on the split plane of the housing. Structural modifications are designed and simulated to increase the parting plane's tightness. Further, the calculation of the tightening torque of the split plane is performed and a control thermodynamic and strength calculation of the labyrinth seals is performed.

Th1/Th2 cytokine gene polymorphisms in patients with urine fibroid

Background: Uterine fibriod (UF) or leiomyoma is the most frequent benign tumour upon lower genital tract and represents the most frequent indication for hysterectomy. The aetiology remains still unknown. The genetic factors contributing for the development of UF are being intensively investigated. The aim of our study was to look for possible genetic markers which could be used as prognostic tools for evaluation of an increased risk for development of UF. Methods: The study group enrolled 102 patients diagnosed with UF and 145 healthy controls. Ultrasonographic examination of the pelvis was performed and a single blood sample was taken in all women. Histological verification followed the surgery in the patient group. The principal of the cytokine gene polymorphisms detection is based on PCR reaction with sequence-specific primers. Results: A large spectrum of Th1/Th2 cytokine gene polymorphisms in patients with uterine fibroid was compared with control group. The frequencies of the majority of tested cytokine gene SNP in the patient cohort were not statistically different from the cytokine SNP in the control group. Retrofit Steam Condensing Turbine

The aim of this master thesis is the retrofit of a condensing steam turbine. The thesis obtains a revision of the steam turbine, the reconstruction of steam turbine blades and the basic calculation of bolt torques of the turbine split plane. The master thesis is assigned to a specific retrofit of the steam turbine Lang. In the introductory part the thesis is focused on the turbine description and the basic functions of selected turbine components. The following part deals with the revision and the proposal of repairs for all components and the recommendation of additional modernizations of specific measuring equipments. The analysis of anchoring the stator and rotor blading and their reconstruction is discussed in the next part. In the last part the thesis focuses on the sealing of the turbine split plane and the calculation of the various bolt torques closely linked to the sealing.

Processing Czech in Python

This bachorelor´s thesis presents some ways of Czech language processing. The first part contains a general destription of NLTK system. Some of aftermentioned functions were inspired by NLTK functions. There are described functions which attend to inflection and inflexion of various words class in Czech language. Next part is focused on processing of the text in Czech language in which are found and marked each sentences and other parts. Last part describes possibillity of tranformations rules application for each part of text. Results after rules application could be represented graphically.

Retrofit Backpressure Steam Turbine

Tématem diplomové práce je revize parní turbíny Mitsubishi a výpočet utahovacích momentů šroubů dělící roviny. Tato práce je rozdělena do několika částí. Úvodní část práce obsahuje seznámení s rozsahem prováděných servisních prací na parních turbínách. Poté je zde samotná revize parní turbíny Mitsubishi. Tato revize je dělena podle jednotlivých komponent turbíny. Poté je zde stanoven seznam nutných oprav a také seznam doporučených oprav pro příští odstávku. V další části je zde shrnut výpočet utěsnění dělicích rovin a to s nebo bez odlehčení. Dále jsou rozebrány nejčastěji používané typy závitů spojovacího materiálu parních turbín. Hlavní částí práce je samotný výpočet utahovacího momentu. Výstupem této práce je poté program pro výpočet utahovacího momentu v programu Excel.
