According to the subject of matter is this work aimed primary on his personality, secondary on a brief outline of history of ice hockey in the world. Brief outline of history of ice hockey in the Czech Republic and in Jihlava follows. According to period of time is this work focused on the 50's till 70's. In wider connection I mention period of beginning of our ice hockey and subsequent development of ice hockey in Jihlava. The work is incorporated with an amount of various extracts from contemporary press and memorial literature. As addition follows amount of pictures and photographs of the period mentioned above. The text is supplemented and controlled interview.
Optimal timing of summer vacances with regard to climate
Kothan, Filip ; Sládek, Ivan (advisor) ; Novák, Martin (referee)
The aim of this paper is to suggest a method, how to find a period of summer holidays with the best weather, because this holidays should enable scholars to do sports in nature. It was evaluated on basis of air temperature, sunshine and precipitation. So it was necessary to find holidays with the highest air temperature, maximum of sunshine total and minimum of precipitation total in the year. The provided values of these meteorological elements derive from weather stations of Doksany, Praha Ruzyně and Brno Tuřany. These databases contain fifty - year series of measured values of elements mentioned above for the period 1. 1. 1961 - 31. 12. 2010. At first the holiday periods favourable according to individual meteorological elements were calculated. Then the results of these calculations were used to find the final holiday period, favourable according to more than one element. Specifically the air temperature and sunshine were meant. The required period, suitable according to daily average air temperature and daily total sunshine, begins on 19th June and ends on 19th August. The period, calculated on basis of daily average air temperature and day length, begins on 14th June and ends on 14th August.
Trends of regional differentiation in the reproductive behavior of the population in the Czech Republic during the transformation
Novák, Martin ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee)
Trends of regional differentiation in the reproductive behavior of the population in the Czech Republic during the transformation Abstract Changing the political system in the Czech Republic brought besides other things radical, unexpected changes in reproductive behavior of the population. This thesis deals with the course of changes in reproductive behavior of the population in the districts of the Czech Republic and the main aim of this thesis is to analyze the spatial development of these changes and whether there are spatial patterns, which are spread by new, innovative, reproductive behavior. Changing patterns of reproductive behavior was in the territory of around the Czech Republic in a very short time in which we can observe the different status of "urban districts" with the exception of Ostrava. In comparison with other districts we can see rapid transformation of reproductive patterns in these "urban" districts and they become the leading districts inthe process of transformation of repro ductive behavior.Includes of the presented study is also performed cluster analysis in five selected years, whose aim is to group the individual districts by similarity of reproductive behavior. Keywords: Districts, second demographic transition, fertility, nuptiality, divorce, abortion, process of diffusion,...
Protection against corruption and bribery and their prevention
Novák, Martin ; Gřivna, Tomáš (advisor) ; Tlapák Navrátilová, Jana (referee)
THE PROTECTION AGAINST CORRUPTION AND BRIBERY AND THEIR PREVENTION The purpose of my thesis is to analyse basic instruments provided by the criminal law for investigation and prosecution of bribery and find out how they are applied in everyday practice within criminal proceeding. The main reason why I chose this topic is frequent complaining of the public, blaming the law enforcement authorities from dismal state of corruption in the Czech Republic. The motive was to find out whether these complaints are legitimate or the criminal law does not provide sufficient means for effective regulation of the corruption. The main aim of the thesis is therefore to answer the question, whether the instruments provided by the criminal law are sufficient for effective regulation of bribery and corruption in the Czech Republic. The thesis is composed of five chapters. Chapter one is devoted to the brief explanation of historical development of the phenomenon of corruption. Aim of this chapter is to show the issue of corruption as never-ending struggle which was present in the society since its very beginning. Chapter two is introductory and defines basic terminology. Purpose of this chapter is to explain the main distinction between corruption and bribery and define the basic classification referred in the...
Freshwater wetlands as a biogeochemical archive: Temporal changes in climate and environmental records
Zemanová, Leona ; Novák, Martin (advisor) ; Mihaljevič, Martin (referee) ; Hojdová, Marie (referee)
Worldwide, peatlands cover an area of 4.106 km2 . Plant primary production dominated over organic matter decomposition and enabled organic matter to accumulate during the last 11 000 years. Peatlands represent a reservoir of atmospheric carbon and they are a useful scientific tool for reconstructions of historical atmospheric pollution. The first part of the thesis focuses on peatlands as a dynamic carbon reservoir under predicted climate change that would influence carbon cycling and emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Three methodological approaches were used - a mesocosm laboratory incubation, a transplant experiment and in situ gas flux measurements. The laboratory incubation studied the response of peat samples from temperate (Velké Dářko, Czech Republic) and boreal (Stor Åmyran, Sweden) zone to a temperature increase, water table decrease and their combination. Today, the warmer site exhibits ~14 times higher CH4 production potential than the colder site (28 mg m-2 hr-1 at VD, and 2 mg m-2 hr-1 at SA). Both sites respond differently to temperature increases. Changes in methane production were up to 9 fold due to different temperatures. A gradual decrease of water table level from 2 to 14 cm below the peat surface had a much stronger effect, VD exhibited a decrease in methane...
Generace vířivosti rychlostního pole gradientem entropie
Novák, Martin ; Maršík, František (advisor) ; Grmela, Miroslav (referee)
The master thesis studies the impact of the entropy gradient on the vorticity of ve- locity field, particularly by applying the linear momentum balances. These balances are formulated for Thermo-viscous fluids (later fluids) and Thermo-viscous-elastic ma- terial (later solids) with the other balances (energy, mass, etc.). In order to derive these balances, the Classical continuum mechanics approach is used along with the respec- tive Variational principles. The thesis emphasizes the Variational principles applica- tion representing the modification of the Bateman principle [Bat29] and its comparison with the Classical approach, linked to the L. Crocco work [Cro37], particularly in the case of vorticity generation. It is pointed that by the definition of the dissipative en- tropy sdis a harmony of both approaches can be achieved and that, in the case of an appropriate limit, the direct effect of the entropy gradient on the vorticity of velocity field can be demonstrated. By applying this conclusion the relationship between the change of circulation among a closed curve and released heat on the given geometry is indicated.
Advection character and timing of climatic seasons
Pekař, Bronislav ; Novák, Martin (referee) ; Sládek, Ivan (advisor)
Advection character and timing of climatic seasons Thesis deals with the timing of climatological seasons depending on the temperature and wind direction at 850 hPa level. The theoretical part deals with defining seasons in different ways and climatological processes in Europe. The practical part deals with the verifying of basic hypothesis and the individual steps of the procedure, leading to the timing of climatic seasons depending on the temperature and wind direction. The main method is the method of cumulative series, devised by RNDr. Ivan Sládek, CSc. Western stream over the Bohemia is mainly characterized by cold advection from April 9 to October 21 (advection summer), by warm advection from October 20 to April 9 (advection winter). Eastern stream is mainly characterized by warm advection from April 9 to September 17 and by cold advection from September 17 to April 9. Keywords Advection, circulation processes, climatological seasons, method of cumulative series, timing of climatological seasons.
