New Movements in the Church and Postmodern Spirituality
Noska, Martin ; Lachman, Jan (advisor) ; Zach, Pavel (referee)
Growth of the postmodern spirituality is caused by the transformation of our society from modern to postmodern one or from industrial to information type that has begun in the middle of the 20th century and continues to the present. These social changes affect not only churches, but also for majority of human beings the relationship to God. Postmodern man/woman does not like archaic traditional forms of the spirituality; he/she tries to live his/her relationship to God in individual specific form, sometimes completely modified according to their visions. It causes the spiritual deregulation, which is the typical phenomenon of present time. Many new movements in church based on postmodern principles try to satisfy the spiritual needs of today's men/women, for whom are the old church institutions functionless. In my opinion, this trend will continue in future in this direction. The growing of new movements and the decay of the old institutions is easily noticeable already today. The main characteristics of postmodern spirituality are for example the charismatism, emphasis on personal relationships, evangelicalism, spontaneous missionary activities and the new forms of ecumenism. The possible alternatives for influence of information technologies on the society evolution
Práce se věnuje obecným otázkám spojeným s nástupem informační revoluce, rozvojem informačních a komunikačních technologií, charakteristice kyberprostoru a kyberkultury, jakožto nových fenoménů informačního věku, a následně pak praktickým problémům v tomto novém prostoru.
UN and issues of international flow of information
Motlová, Barbora ; Lehmannová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Noska, Martin (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to determine whether promoting the free flow of information at the international level through the UN is effective as a solution to global communication inequalities. The first part of the thesis follows the development of global communication system and the importance of information at international level. The second part deals with the activities of the UN in this area. Conclusion summarizes the individual chapters. The analysis leads to the conclusion that promoting the free flow of information has no effect under the current conditions on the reduction of inequalities in the global communication system.
Natural and Artificial Life
Noska, Martin ; Pavlík, Ján (advisor) ; Petrášek, František (referee)
This thesis is about similarities and differences between natural and artificial life. It examines how a combination of insight from the disciplines of computer science and philosophy can be used to address this issue. By applying the principles of evolution to artificial life, the paper shows the perspectives of this life form and its implications for mankind. Human history contains many attempts at constructing artificial creatures; however, this dream only became reality with the advent of digital computers. Although artificial life is built on different principles than natural life, is better to view both as complementary rather than as opposites. It is possible to speculate on symbiosis between artificial and natural elements and on the formation of hybrid life forms that combine features from both worlds. Artificial life is not dependent on biological cycles and its evolution can proceed much faster. It has the potential to overcome the necessity of death, which is characteristic of all biological entities. If we compare the intelligence of machines to that of natural organisms, it is possible to identify the differences between them. Machine intelligence has the potential to create artificial collective intelligence through computer networks that exceed the level of separate entities. Simple forms of artificial life, identifiable at present, will evolve in coming decades and raise a number of unsolved questions (i.e. ethical concerns). These issues are and will remain current.
