Community gardens - Revolt in urban public space

Summary The diploma thesis discusses a topic of urban community gardens, which are growing trend over recent years in the Czech Republic. First of all the thesis focus on the need of urban human contact for nature elements. It outlines a brief history and development of urban gardening in the Czech Republic. The literary section proceeds further with concrete examples of existing community gardens, both abroad and in our country, it compares the situation of community gardening in Prague and Vienna and it is trying to sort through a diverse range of urban gardening and community gardens. It shows possible causes of this phenomenon and its objectives, features and benefits. The significance of this thesis is to show a diverse range of topics that appear in community gardens. Among the main are the following: regional supply, diversity of cultivated varieties, self-sufficiency and sustainability, common ownership, social interaction, informal education, protection and promotion of the environment. Equally important consequence of community gardens is the ability to think about the context and the change in attitude towards consumerism. The potential of community gardens in urban public space can also contain possible solutions to a wide range of local and global issues and challenges of contemporary society. On top of that there are developing relationships at all possible levels. The literary section in the end mentions public space and community. The practical part of this thesis was dedicated to project, which focused on Community garden Vidimova in Prague. This garden is located in the courtyard of a former kindergarten. The building is currently used by the Municipality of Prague district 11. Designed space garden has nearly 3,800 square meters. Development here has the character of a settlement with dense construction mainly residential multi-storey panel buildings. The project proposal was based on analyses of regional relations, natural conditions and the evaluation of the current state of the territory and its community. It is an constantly growing community that now includes over 40 regular members. This garden has a great potential to incorporate a wider range of users, but above all it is necessary to involve all concerned subjects in decision-making and the creation of this garden.
Structure and development of autochthonous beech forests in the protected landscape area Broumovsko.

The thesis describes the horizontal and vertical structure of two permanent research plots with the developmental stages of the tree layer of native beech stands in NPR Broumov in the area CHKO Broumov nature reserve in the Sudetenland. The horizontal structure of the tree layer is random and in the developmental stages of natural regeneration. The average number of individuals natural recovery is around 15 100 individuals per hectare.
Monitoring of operation mode in road transport

The aim of the work will assess whether current legislation is sufficient to work mode drivers in road transport and mutual comparison of process control components. In the case of deficiencies, the proposed solutions in the legislative change, but also the methodologies process control components.
Application of Business Intelligence in Private and Public Sector

The diploma thesis focuses on the present state of Application of Business Intelligence (BI) in Private and Public Sector in the Czech Republic. The first part of this thesis is theoretically oriented and describes the BI evolution, finds its present definition and specifies the relationship to the related fields a branches. There are identified the BI users and there is also described the position of BI in IS/ICT in the organization. After that follows the description of the principles of BI, it means that the components are taken to pieces. The final part shows the possible comprehensive BI solution. The second part is practice-oriented and explores the present state of application of BI in private and public sector and describes the expected BI evolution until 2020. The thesis deals with the potential application of BI and possibilities how to obtain the subsidies from the EU for its implementation in each sector. After that there are described the barriers to implementation of BI and shown some specific examples of significant software solutions in these sectors. Then there are summarized the main differences in application of BI in each sector. The final part focuses on the on-line application research and its evaluation. The diploma thesis shows, why the BI is one of the most perspective business informatics areas. The thesis is also high-quality typographically elaborated.
Lifelong learning for the workers in the public sector and requiers lifelong learning in the nonprofit sector (comparative study)

The subject of the the diploma thesis is the evaluation the current state of lifelong learning in the govermental and non-govermental non-profit sectors. The aim of the thesis to suggest possibilities for lifelong learning in govermental and non-govermental non-profit sectors. The thesis focuses on reasons which lead workers to increase the level of their achieved education and to participate in educational workshops. It deals with the state of employer or company support. Its theoretical part is based on studying of documents. For conducting the practical part there were chosen particular authorities and organizations where a quantitative survey using a standardized questionnaire and qualitative research using semi-structured interviews were done. The collected data were analyzed and the conclusion stated. Diploma thesis shows the way for the improvement of work with employees who lack the necessary education.
Social responsibility and the application of ethical principles in public administration

Code of Ethics in Public Administration, which takes into account the daily exercise of fundamental ethical principles in public administration, should be moral regulation governing professional personal approach to public administration addressees. It can not be at the level of sanctions enforceable regulation, which applies to public administrators. Rather, it should be the norm every institution containing socially acceptable ethical principles reflecting the basic principles of good governance that would permanently stabilize desirable responsible professional approach executors of public administration within the defined legislation. Thus, the aim of the code of ethics, which should be in every institution open to the public in paper or electronic form, should be sustained to ensure the basic requirements among the participants of the public administration. Basic principles of ethical principles, supplemented by observations of the authors cited in the thesis could help a number of public institutions in developing their own code of ethics and social responsibility for formulating its practical observance.
Ethics in business and corporate social responsibility

This diploma work considering Business ethics and social responsibility of companies discusses a contemporary topic. The work is separated into several parts. The applied part of the work is based on literary research of selected literature, and deals with business ethics and responsibility of companies that deal with bus traffic and truck transport in actual business practice. The applied part was done by comparing four selected criteria that are linked to corporate responsibility of companies. All of the presented subjects have been dealing with helping people and groups of people for at least ten years, especially to those who need help due to health disorders at being included in normal, everyday life like healthy people, participate in all kinds of sports, culture and social activities. The presented companies and other subjects have been showing for many years how important their help is. The final part of the work contains twenty-five recommendations aimed at expansion of social responsibility of companies.
Management Accounting as a Source of Information in a Chosen Company

Managerial accounting as an information source in the unit of account will be assessed in a particular agricultural company with more than twenty years of history. The company is engaged in both crop and livestock productions and its turnover exceeds the limit of 250 million Czech crowns. The first section summarizes the findings from the professional literature, legal regulations and partly findings from my own experience too. The characteristic of the monitored company, including the interrelationship among different types of production is shown in the next part. Description of individual production processes is important for further monitoring of the use of management accounting, including its coherence with the production as a source of information for decision making. On the basis of these chapters managerial accounting use will be described and further evaluated. Managerial accounting will be evaluated in the areas of planning and decision-making. Further, in the area of calculation, cost allocation and coding of individual cost items for specific performances. At the end procedures of managerial accounting use in the monitored accounting unit are evaluated and some recommendations, including suggestions for possible improvements are described.
Social responsibility and enforcement of ethical principles for Public Administration

The thesis deals with social responsibility and the application of ethical principles in public administration. Above all, i tis the adherence to ethical principles in conjunction with the Code of Ethics of the Czech Telecommunication Office in Hradec Kralove. The thesis describes the activities of the administrative body of social responsibility and focuses on the ethical behavior of staff towards the citizens who are the users of government services. In the theoretical section briefly describes the important concepts related to ethics, social responsibility and public administration organizations. Attention is also paid to human resources and conditions of the officials in the civil service. The second part is characterized the region in which there is an investigation. In the questionnaire survey among office employees and its clients they are discovered results that highlight the behavior of public officials to the public as part of the issue. The conclusion summarizes the results obtained and reviewed the objectives of the thesis. Acquired knowledge is used for the design of specific recommendations, which should lead to a more efficient behavior of civil servants to the public. In my work I came to the conclusion that most of the office staff are aware of socially responsible behavior. The results made among officials, it was found that officials comply with the set rules of ethical behavior towards our employees and citizens. Survey among citizens was found that they provide officials with information and deal with them with the willingness and helpfulness.
The structure and model development of relict pine stands in the NNR Adršpašsko-teplické skály.

This thesis deals with the structure and evolution model of relict stands of pine forests in the NPR Adršpašsko-teplické skály. Measurements were performed on four permanent research plots. These were established in the past and have dimensions 50 x 50 meters. By using Field-Map technology were recorded locations of all individuals of tree layer, natural regeneration, the position of stumps and dead wood in these areas. By the direct measurement were recorded growth characteristics. The measured data were evaluated by mathematical-statistical methods. The resulting data were used to assess the structure and for prediction of development of the undergrowth as the basis for the creation of nature-friendly management in similar habitat and vegetation conditions of natural pine forests.
