Processing of X-Ray images in studying jawbone diseases
Kabrda, Miroslav ; Šmirg, Ondřej (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is a method proposed for automated evaluation of the parameters of X-ray of cystic disorders in human jawbones. The main problem in medical diagnostic is the low repeatability due to the subjective evaluation of images without using a tool for image processing. In this thesis are described the basic steps of image processing, various methods of image segmentation and chosen segmentation method live-wire. Selected segments were processed in the ImageJ Java environment. In the cystic regions their basic statistical and shape properties were evaluated. The obtained values were used for learning the classification model (decision tree) in the environment RapidMiner. This model was used to create a plug-in for automatic classification of the type of cysts in the program ImageJ.
Filtering methods for NMR measurements
Nezhyba, Jiří ; Mikulka, Jan (referee) ; Gescheidtová, Eva (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the wavelet transform and its use in processing and removing noise from images acquired by nuclear magnetic resonance. It defines fundamental terms for this work as mother wavelet or thresholding. Above all, it describes the principle of wavelet transform, thresholding techniques and criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of filtration. It describes the relation between wavelet transforms and digital filter banks. The experimental section describes the designed filtering method for removing noise from an image captured by the technique of nuclear magnetic resonance. We applied to different kinds of mother wavelets. Evaluation of the effectiveness of filtering was performed using the signal to noise ratio, relative contrast and the steepness of the intensity changes in signal intensity. It also discusses the comparison of properties of the image and selecting the mother wavelets based on image characteristics. Images were compared in terms of a histogram, cumulative histogram, k-space and the difference image.
Wireless doorbell with digital voice transmission
Partsch, Patrik ; Šebesta, Jiří (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
The master´s thesis deals with a design and layout of wireless doorbell with digital voice transmission. It also includes the nRF9E5 circuit analysis. In the beginning of the document there is characterization of the problem in general. Next part describes a layout example for the application schematic, a layout of printed circuit board and a layout of software. nRF9E5 is a true single chip system with fully integrated RF transceiver, 8051 compatible microcontroller and a four input 10 bit AD converter. Despite of all studies of available literature I have found only very little particular information related to this matter. In general, the main aim of this work is to make the wireless doorbell with digital voice transmission. Further, ilustrated schematics are enclosed as a attachement of this thesis.
Cellular Network Coverage Model
Unzeitig, Lubomír ; Mikulka, Jan (referee) ; Gleissner, Filip (advisor)
This work deals with a mobile signal propagation in electromagnetic wave form in a real environment of city microcell. The electromagnetic wave passing through the city environment is affected by many kinds of mechanism. It includes especially diffraction along vertical edges of buildings, diffraction across building roofs and buildings or ground refraction. These mechanisms are time variable. If we want to predicate them, we have to use sort of approached model. For an experimental part of this work, the Berg’s recursive model with a possibility of path loses or signal level prediction in a selected microcellular system is chosen. The software for a cellular network coverage is created on the basis of this fact. Its advantage is a possibility of up to five base stations placing and many kinds of settings, e.g. operating frequency, base station transmitting power, base and mobile station antennas height etc. There is a possibility of system GSM 900, GSM 1800 or UMTS choice. The Berg’s recursive model features are checked by simulations on experimental and real maps of build-up area.
Wireless transmission interference modeling (AWGN, Rayleigh, Rice fading channels)
Hloušek, Tomáš ; Gleissner, Filip (referee) ; Mikulka, Jan (advisor)
This thesis describes and models wirelesss transmission intereferences in real communication channels. A signal received on a fading channel is subjected to a multiplicative distortion and to the usual additive noise. Real channel adds to the signal noise and fadings. Gaussian noise is a result of channel awgn. Fadings is implicated by multipath propagation of signal in Rayleigh and Rician channels. Main goal of this project is to program BERsolve, which is created in tool GUIDE in Matlab. User program BERsolve makes it possible to analyse bit error rate and symbol error rate for some types of channel models, which are defined by standard COST207. BERsolve offers some other functions i.e. display time behaviour, constellation diagram and spectrum. This program provides us with an overview representation of problem by multipath interferences in communication channels.
