Sexuality among elderly in Czechia
Marková, Gabriela ; Lustigová, Michala (advisor) ; Janečková, Hana (referee)
Sexual activity in older age has been associated with positive impacts on physical and mental health. However, the topic of sex life is still very taboo in older age, and there are very few studies and research devoted to it. This thesis dealt with sexual activity of older people in the Czech Republic. The research used data from the national questionnaire of the SHARE study (8th wave; 2019-2020), which included a block of questions on sexuality (frequency, importance, desire). The relationship between sexual activity and selected characteristics was analysed using binary logistical regression. The main objectives of this thesis were to compile an overview of the prevalence of sexual activity of different groups of older people in the Czech Republic and to find factors that influence sexual activity of older adults. Information about their sexual activity was provided by 2107 respondents. A low prevalence of sexual activity was found (21,8 %). Sexual activity differed between the sexes, and conversely the presence of a partner in the home did not play a role in prevalence. In the analysed sample of respondents, it was confirmed that attitudes about sexual desire and sexual importance had the greatest influence on sexual activity than, for example, biomedical factors such as health or psychological status....

Marková, Gabriela ; Hubičková Heringová, Lucie (advisor) ; Dzúrová, Dagmar (referee)
Medication during pregnancy are frequently used for the treatment of maternal disease. Chronic diseases, like depression, anxiety, autoimmune diseases have to be treated during the pregnancy. Acute diseases, in case of need, must be treated as well. In both situation the strategy of the treatment should reflect the risk for mother and fetus. Optimal therapy is to take the effective drug for mother with minimalisation of therisk for fetus. We analyzed database of cases of prospectively followed pregnancies exposed to certain drugs and evaluate the medication with respect to the risk for the fetus. We recorded the most frequent health care providers in Czech Republic, who seek the information about risk of pharmacotherapy during pregnancy by Czech Teratology Information Service and compared the medication with optimal choice.

Šipošová, Barbora ; Marková, Gabriela (advisor) ; Šulová, Lenka (referee)
Recent studies support the hypothesis that oxytocin plays an important role in mother-infant interactions. The aim of the present research was to investigate the connection between Maternal Affect Attunement and levels of oxytocin in mothers and infants during early mother-infant communication, and to explore the relationship between maternal and infants' oxytocin levels. Forty three mother-infant dyads participated in the present study when infants were four months. They were observed in three conditions: 1) Baseline - where no communication took place, 2) Natural Interaction between mother and infant and 3) Modified Interactions - where natural interaction between mothers and infants was disrupted in various ways. During this procedure four saliva samples from mothers and their infants were collected to determine their levels of oxytocin at different time points. To assess individual maternal interactive style Maternal Affect Attunement (Maintaining Attention, Warm Sensitivity) was coded during the Natural Interaction. Results indicated that maternal and infants' oxytocin levels were stable at the four collection points. Maternal oxytocin levels at all collection points as well as overall mean oxytocin level were negatively related to her Warm Sensitivity. Significant positive synchronized as...
