Thermophysical properties of ordinary water substance /KKE-20-2001/

The necessity of the replacement of IAPS-84 formulation with the new formulation IAPWS-IF97 is stressed in our report. Sources of the IF97 formulation, Steam Tables and software based on the new formulation are summarized. Included is a brief information on the industrial formulation of thermodynamic propertis of water and steam IAPWS-IF97, in detail are described new or revised formulations of thermal conductivity, dynamic viscosity, surface tension, static dielectrictant, refractive index, equations for the melting and sublimation curves and simplified equations of saturation propertiies of ordinary water substance according to the IAPWS Standards. Attached are tables of selected properties.

Thermodynamic and transport properties of ordinary water substance

A brief review of the internatonal temperature scales and its mutual conversion aids are presented. Shortly is discussed the development of new standards for the transport properties.The introduction of the new internationally adopted industrial formulation IAPWS-IF97 in the nuclear engineering practice is emphasised. Available sources of the formulation are given. Mentioned are new backward equations and TTSE method. The state in the field of the thermophysical properties of heavy water is summarized.
