Literature research of resources used in avalanche problems

Title: Current state of active rescue equipment used to prevent snow avalanches. Objectives: The goal of the bachelor thesis is to compare currently available active rescue devices used in a mountain environment Methods: The methods used in my bachelor thesis to obtain the necessary information on active rescue devices were research and study of the literature and its subsequent segregation, together with informal guided interviews with experts who deal with this issue (HS members) and subsequent analysis of the issue. Comparison of the information sought is used as an additional method. Results: There are currently 14 avalanche backpack and avalanche vest systems available on the market. There are currently 10 types of cartridge systems and the remaining 4 are electric systems. As a result of my bachelor thesis I have prepared a comprehensive table with all currently available systems and all necessary information. This piece of work seeks to suggest an optimal strategy for beech felling to avoid high felling fluctuations in the future. This particular suggestion is based on the last two forest management plans. Divisions based on the age class in the last two decades were analysed (described?) and compared with each other. The calculations of felling plan were based on two different scenarios. Based on felling balance comparison, both scenarios could be used. The second scenario is preferred based on economic reasons.

Title: Training safety in mountaineous environment in the conditions of the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic Objectives: The bachelor thesis aims to assess the level of training safety in the mountain environment under the conditions of the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic. The safety level is determined at the theoretical level according to the safety provisions treated by laws, standards, and regulations. The thesis also focuses on describing the current state of training execution in mountain terrain regarding safety measures. The current state of training execution is evaluated by comparing basic standards and their specific incorporation into standards, guidelines and other training documentation, with particular attention paid to the departmental training conditions within the armed forces of the Czech Republic. Finally, similar foreign documentation is analyzed and compared. Methods: The thesis is primarily based on reviewing laws, regulations, and other obligations mandatory for conducting training in the mountain environment. Multiagent simulations based on the iterated prisoner's dilemma

This work is studying possibilities for simulating iterated prisoners dilema in the 3APL language. It does not stick to theory only but offers a concrete example of a multiagent system capable of simulating not only the iterated prisoners dilema but also other tasks of the game theory. Towards this, we define communication protocol which allows any agent who understands it to participate in the simulation. On two sample simulations we test and evaluate practical capabilities and limitations of both the multiagent system and the 3APL language.

Hypercapnia and diffusion of gases in avalanche (Changes in functional parameters of individuals in a crisis situation)

Název: Hyperkapnie a difuse plynů ve sněhové lavině - (Změny funkčních parametrů jedinců v krizové situaci) Cíle práce: Cílem studie bylo kontinuální sledování kompenzačních mechanismů, zejména změn ventilačně-respiračních ukazatelů, v simulované sněhové lavině. Metoda: K získání dat byl použit experiment a nestandardizovaný dotazník. Výběr souboru byl vzhledem ke sledované problematice přísně selektivní. Výzkumu se účastnilo 22 probandů, ale po analýze dat bylo pro nesplnění požadovaných kritérií 11 osob vyřazeno. Soubor tedy tvořilo 11 zdravých mužů průměrného věku 25,3 let. Před vlastním experimentem byla pomocí osobního spirometru testována senzitivita na hyperkapnii a hypoxii (výdrž v apnoi) a dechová zdatnost (vitální kapacita plic s usilovným výdechem). Experimentální situaci představovalo jak dýchání do uzavřeného objemu (8 l), tak do vytvořené vzduchové kapsy ve sněhu (400 ml). Kontinuální záznamy oběhových funkcí (srdeční frekvence, krevní tlak) a ventilačně-respiračních parametrů (dechová frekvence, dechový objem, minutová ventilace, obsah O2 a CO2 ve vdechovaném a vydechovaném vzduchu, odpor při výdechu a saturace krve kyslíkem) byly snímány pacientským monitorem DATEX Ohmeda. Genetic algorithms in evolutionary robotics

Through series of experiments this work compares effects of different types of genetic algorithms on evolution of a neural network that is used to control a robot. Genetic algorithms using binary and real coded individuals, algorithms using basic and advanced mutations and crossovers and algorithms using fixed and variable population size are compared on three tasks of evoltionary robotics. The goal is to determine wether usage of advanced genetic algorithms leads to faster convergence or to better solution than usage of basic genetic algorithm. Experiments are performed in an easily extendable simulator developed for purposes of this work.

Vision of oak in Slavonic societies

This thesis describes an iconic relationship to trees, especially oak, in the pre-Christian culture area. On the basis of wide excerpts the thesis characterizes the situation of pagan Slavs in the context of contemporary European cultural space. It describes the worship ceremonies of the oak, healing properties attributed to the oak and oak's feature in the myths creation of Indo-European and Finno-Ugric ethnic groups. The chapter of the current relationship man - tree concerns the development of this relationship, mentions the legislative acts relating to the trees and in the conclusion characterizes the role of the crisis of relationship man - tree to the overall moral crisis of the modern society.

Role of oak in the Slavonic societies

Cílem této mé práce je ukázat, jak se podoby stromu a lidské bytosti v myšlení archaické společnosti vzájemně prolínají a ztotožňují, a to se zvláštním zřetelem na nekorunovaného evropského krále stromů - na dub. Rovněž se chci pokusit zobrazit, čím strom člověka a jeho společnost přesahuje, neboť nelze opominout význam stromu jako metafyzické struktury a stavby světa. Nejde mi o zachycení obecných tezí, jako spíš o uspořádání představ, které jsou dnes velmi matné či zcela zastřené. Je pochopitelné, že nelze hovořit jen o oslavě stromu, ale také o přeměnách a vývoji, včetně pozvolného upadání jeho významu na úroveň pouhé surovinové základny, dnes navíc nahraditelné. Tuto problematiku budu sledovat především ze zorného úhlu Evropana se slovanskými kořeny.
