GEOMORPHOLOGICAL TERMS IN THE CONTERPORARY CZECH TEXTBOOK FOR HIGHER CLASSES OF SECONDARY GRAMMER SCHOOLS AND HIGH SCHOOLS

With a various geomorphological terms meets each of us, for everybody it is good to know at least a basic geomorphological terms. In Czech schools geomorphology is taught in geography. This work studies the geomorphological terms in Czech secondary school geographical textbooks. The aim of this work was to evaluate textbooks in terms of quantity, but also quality of geomorphological terms. Selected books were from year 1989 till today, had different topics and they were designed for different types of secondary schools. The book evaluation was based on several criteria, subsequently was made a simple statistical analysis. The results of the work can help middle-school teachers to decide for the right textbook used for teaching geomorphology. Keywords: geomorphological terms, textbooks, evaluation.

In life each of us meets with textbook, although it does not always have to be quality textbook. For evaluation the quality of textbooks used a rating system that can be undertaken. This work deals with the evaluation of physical geography textbooks for grammar schools. The goal is to determine what shape the concept of physical geography in textbooks and propose solutions to improve the situation. The work examines fourteen contemporary czech books used in teaching (textbooks, summaries for graduation). For ratings are used formal methods such educational research as measuring text difficulty or measuring didactic structure. Based on the results, it is possible to determine what textbook is suitable for teaching physical geography and how it would look perfect textbook. This work could bring geography teachers some advice on choosing textbooks. Key words: evaluation textbook, physical geography, textbook for grammar school
