Spicak phenomenon
Dvořáková, Vendula ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the activation of the southwestern part of the Highlands Region. This section is not frequented by tourists. Those are just passing through this part, from the regional city of Jihlava in Telc, the historic town included on the UNESCO list. These two cities are among the most visited places in the Highlands, yet tourists around not delay longer. The reason is the lack of information about how to place and in particular the poor amenities.
The Municipal Baths
Vrbka, Jan ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Makovský, Zdeněk (advisor)
Are municipal bath built next to Voronez Hotel able to compete with other such facilities? The key is to create a specific atmosphere. The bath steeps from the ground to offer views over city. Another part of the strategy is a presence of relative functions in the building – you can meet many activities, which you would not expect in public bath. But what is the most important: you can enjoy these activities in intimate environment or in the public space as well. For example: you can take a tea in a bar situated in the sixth floor with exclusive view over opposite hill or you can take different tea in a small informal teahouse hidden in the middle of the disposition. An all-embracing structure of differently juxtaposed reinforced concrete boxes creates a frame for this different human experience.

Žabovřesky Meadows
Šárka, Jan ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
In my master’s thesis I focus on some of the challenges we will face in this century. I would like to investigate whether new lanscape, new building typology (vertical farm) and new methods of agriculture (permaculture, hydroponic, aeroponic and aquaponic systems, meat in vitro, and NASA research) could be the answer to questions concerning sustainable development, urban population increase, cities food supply, consumption habits of people, climate changes, CO2 emissions, ecological footprint and biocapacity.
Žabovřesky Meadows
Markevičová, Vendula ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
Žabovřeské and Komínské meadows are divided acording to their names, but in the real landscape it is just only fluent space of large river valley. The space was created by river fo ages, so I let the space to float with the river. All important division of the space are done in parallel with the river, that itself classife the calm, narrower and more familiar right bank and more open, larger left bank of the river. The river shaped the linear charakter of the park and in the same time identify the circle – the space of stop in. The superficies of the area: 141,1 ha.
Šobov - multicultural community center
Nácarová, Barbora ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
We are bound to live with the Roma, but how… The aim of this study is to create a new concept of the environment as an alternative to the current general plan. In the latest urban plan of the town of Banska Stiavnica, the district of Sobov is designed as a recreation zone. However the plan doesn’t tackle the issue of the ethnical minority. This scheme is based on the simple principle of the interconnection of two key topics: the sustainable development in the prevention of social exclusion and the preservation of the environment. On the one hand, it resumes the continuity of resettlement of Sobov, creating a community feeling and the esteem of one´s home in the inhabitants, on the other hand it provides basic information about the district, life of the Roma and their work to the visitors and also offers an appropriate recreation facility. The majority will have to live side by side with the minority and this provides a chance for better housing to the socially challenged citizens in exchange for their participation on the development. The technical solution considers low-cost tower blocks emphasizing the lifestyle and problems of the Roma people using traditional materials, technologies, unqualified labour and also the already existing boreholes to obtain energy with thermal pumps.
Tuvalu
Mikulcová, Lucia ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
How many inhabitans do have your city? Tuvalu has 12.000 and that´s not a city. It´s a country. Nine islands in south Pacific nearly date line. On first sight You may say, it´s a paradise. Air has always about 30°, sand is white, sky is blue and the sea is full of fish. On shore grows coconuts and on the sea-floor grows beautiful corals. But second lowest country in the Word cannot be a paradise. The land is missing in huge Pacific. Inhabitans don´t have money neither for build another Venice nor dubai´s palm. Global warming a sea level rise is dangerous for milions people of our planet. Maldives, Banghlades, Holland, south of USA… Many of you can have a question: „Why then Tuvalu?“ Few tausends people can move to Australia and finish. And Maldives have worse position, land has less meters over sea level, people is more… ten times. But 12.000… it´s so enough – for specimen. It´s enough people to get for them money and spend it for saving thein land, for trying some science theories. If cannot save these 12.000, you cannot save the others. They have many renewable resourcies: the wind is blowing, the sun is shining, the water is flowing. In this time they are maybe not energy-independent, but they plan to be in 2020. Energy is that wonderfull power, which can save them. Did you know, that if you set low electric energy going in iron element under sea level (which cannot harm sea life and people), at the surface is formed a layer of sediments called „biorock“?- rock, which can you use for building. The project will save only one atoll: Funafuti. It´s enough large for all contemporary and future inhabitans to living. Project is planned to year 2200 and calculated for 24.000 inhabitans. Untilll then sea level rise will grow about one meter above. On atoll Funafuti will rise eight villages with max. 3.000 inhabitans. Every village will have by average equipment (grocery, school, doctor, church) advanced nation-wide important functions (airport, hospital, parliament, university..). On biorock layer stored up in the sea by atoll Funafuti will rise shelf, where people can build stilt houses, how they did houndreds years before European arrival. Or they can live in houseboats. Between houses they wil build jetty road for light engine vehicles and bridge-like paths for pedestrians. They will meet on squares and over their heads will bloom tropical plant in colourfull steeltubes made for it. On the dry land, which is very small, will grow coconut and pandanus. This land will be under heritage, park for everyone to come end enjoy. Part of this project is a floating church. Its building represents all ideas, that Project Tuvalu has: building on water, energy-independent, offer an shelter, shade and place for meeting of people. White facade made from textile membrane reminds white sails of ships, that crossed oceans before 200 years. With these ships came Chrisitanity, that is deeply rooted in this land. Bamboo construction with steel cables will reminds to people Crown of Thorns and martyrium of Christ, but also average problem hat must people meet in their lives. This project is pure utopic and doesn´t have ambition to get real. Its aim is to make visible problem of global warming in this sight and create a discussion: what next?
Residential Complex in Brno - Komín
Krajan, Viktor ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Makovský, Zdeněk (advisor)
Architecture, emanating from philosophy of design, shows the concept of arrangement of eight volumes with a free pattern which generates the maximum amount of open and light space. Structure of the plot is composed of seven apartment buildings and solitary villa. Design of residential complex consists of clear line of public and semi-public space, which complements urbanism of this design. Mass of objects respects the surrounding scale and thereby does not interfere with the surrounding nature and buildings. Functional filling includes a residential function with using of the surrounding area. The layout of the building is designed as a three tracts with four above-ground floors and one underground floor. In the first three above-ground floors are designed two housing units and in a fourth above-ground floor is one housing unit. Technologické prvky bioplynových stanic
Kyselka, Martin
Worldwide trend is acquisition energy from renewable sources. In Czech Republic is on the increase building of biogas stations for this effect. It offers us the production of electricity and thermal energy from renewable sources such as biomass, including the waste, where it would not otherwise find the usage for energy. The aim of my work is to describe basic principles of biochemical conversion of biomass, biogas technology, and their significance. I focused mainly on the use of biogas stations in the city. The first part of my work describes the formation and production of biogas. There are also described constituent technological elements of biogas stations and konstituent regulations affecting their operations. The second part focuses on the use of biogas technology in cities. The use of biogas technology is demonstrated on the functioning operation in biogas station Brno-Černovice.
