Dvořáková, Alžběta ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Fábry, Jan (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the real use of operation research method in conjunction with logistics Cross-Docking technology. It is possible to solve this conjunction with either routing problems along with its modifications or simulations methods. The theoretical part describes routing problems, routing problems with time windows, simulations methods with their possibilities of real use and logistics technologies. A model of a Cross-Docking terminal that was created in the program Simul8 can be found in the practical part of this thesis. The goal of the simulation was to ensure smooth flow of products through the terminal without any long queues in the terminal. Routing problems designed to minimize the length of its routes can be found in the second half of the practical part. Other possible real application is routing problems on the real problem. The solution for this task was found using the modelling system MPL for Windows.
Optimizing the distribution of participants in summer camps
Hlavenka, Vojtěch ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Skočdopolová, Veronika (referee)
The aim of the thesis is the mathematical model, which is capable to divide participants of large summer camps into groups, according to specific limitations. The first part describes the economics model and all valid conditions. The second part is devoted to theoretical description. There are mentioned the basics of mathematical programming and the basic of working with Excel and VBA. The thesis describes only actually used methods. The following third part shows the final form of the model. So the reader doesn´t have to go through the whole process, described in the fourth part. There is a model testing in the fourth part, especially with the help of the Excel Solver. The problems are sold immediately. That is the reason why the fifth part can be used for implementation of working environment, which allows the end user to run the model without any significant knowledge of the issue. The app uses the wide possibilities of VBA. The sixth part briefly describes other add-ins, that are able to solve mathematical problem. The conclusion summarizes all the previous parts and offeres solution, that would be used in real application of the thesis.
Application of econometric and simulation models in organizing a running race
Mihál, Filip ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Novotný, Jakub (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with application of econometric and simulation models in organizing relay running race od Tatier k Dunaju. In theoretical part the reader is introduced to basic theory regarding econometric and simulation models. Detailed introduction to od Tatier k Dunaju running race follows afterwards. There are used multiple regression models in this thesis which are used to estimate runner s time in his sector based on 10 km run reported time and track profile. Results are compared to those provided by organizer himself and between each other. Simulation models are used to analyze sufficiency of parking lots capacity, which are used by team cars while traveling between sectors. These models are compared to reality and afterwards suggestions to solve recognized issues are discussed.
Possibility of linking optimization models with logistics technologies
Vrbická, Jitka ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Fiala, Petr (referee)
This thesis focuses on linking optimization model of mixed linear programming with logistics technologies. To achieve the objective, the thesis is divided into two sections. The first section provides the necessary theory on linear programming and logistics. The second part focuses on the optimization model itself and its connection with the method JIT. This section also describes the application created in MS Excel spreadsheet, which then solves the issue. The application is linked with optimization softwares Lingo and MPL for Windows. The thesis conclusion demonstrates functionality of the application on an illustrative example and the optimization programs are compared based on the observed data. Based on the collected data, we can say that the optimization model is a suitable tool for the optimization of supply chains.
Optimization of production of the nutritional products
Slámová, Dominika ; Sekničková, Jana (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
The theme of the thesis is to optimize the production of nutritional products of defunct company of Ing. Petra Němce. The company was engaged in production of nutritional mixtures for bakeries, pastry shops, ice cream parlours and gastronomy industry. The main objective is to create a model to find the optimal structure of production in order to maximize profit while minimizing costs and maximizing revenue. The partial task is to determine the optimum number of manufactured products and the quantity produced mixtures. The thesis describes particular solutions using the simplex method and integer linear programming. The compromise solution is obtained using multicriterial programming. Fulfilments of the set goals and their evaluation are described in the conclusion.
Vehicle routing problem in practice
Tuan Hoang, Anh ; Dlouhá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
Nowadays, one of the most widely used optimization problem is a travelling salesman problem. That is only the basic model, which is modified by various restrictions and enlargements. In the first part of this bachelor thesis we will focus on theory of distribution problems and their solutions. On the other hand in the second part we will apply the knowledge from the first part to the real task, which requires modifications. We will use the data of the supply company that delivers their orders in Prague with the limited capacities of the vehicles. We will find out the differences between minimizing the total distance and minimizing the total time for delivery, as the distance and time are not linearly dependent. It will be needed to decide, where will be an optimal location for opening the second branch. To solve this tasks, we will not use only heuristic methods for manual calculation, but also optimization software.
The usage of the nutritional problem in real life
Salačová, Naďa ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Machovec, Bohumír (referee)
This bachelor thesis is about the usage of nutritional problem in real life, specifically about creating nutritional plan for professional athletes - basketball players. The main focus is to minimize the costs of the menu for one or five days, in which they will comply with all the nutritional requirements while respecting the exact calories intake (the amount of fat, sugar and protein). We will create four different menus - two for men and two for women. Each one has different requirements for the intake of those nutrients. Another goal for this research is to implement those menus into daily life of those athletes. They can be adjusted depending on the actual needs of each athlete. The perfect solution for all four menu choices can be found with software called LINGO.
Use of simulation models and decision-making multi criteria air transport
Kollárová, Veronika ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
This master thesis deals with practical application of simulation models and multi criteria evaluation of different alternatives in the field of air transport. The aim of this thesis is to show, and demonstrate using a simulation as a possibility of improving arrival and departure capacity of the M.R Stefanik Airport in Bratislava. There is a selection of low cost airlines based on a customer opinion. These airlines could increase the number of offered flights from the airport. Descriptions of various simulations can be found in the theoretical part, same as WSA, TOPSIS and MAPPAC, subsequent demonstration of these methods is shown in the practical part. The thesis is based on the results of practical application of simulation models followed by the application of multi criteria evaluation of alternatives. Furthermore this thesis compares the final results of the arrangement of low cost airlines using different methods.
Employee scheduling: application of selected methods of Operations Research
Picková, Veronika ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Houška, Milan (referee)
The aim of this Master's Thesis is to create an employee shift work schedule by using selected methods of operations research. The first part is theoretical and deals with the introduction into operational research, specifically in the field of mathematical programming and simulation models, including the possibility of computer processing. This first part highlights important subjects that will be used in the second part, which is practical and is solving a specific problem. Firstly, Cinema City Flora, which provided data for the analysis, is presented. Then there is a solution of the problem in the add-in Solver in MS Excel, and then in the program LINGO. After, a discrete simulation is created in the program SIMUL8. In conclusion, there is a summarization of the main findings and recommendations, comparison of selected methods and their applicability in practice and possibilities of further research.
