Crowd Counting in Video

This master's thesis prepared the programme which is able to follow the trajectories of the movement of people and based on this to create various statistics. In practice it is an effective marketing tool which can be used for instance for customer flow analyses, optimal evaluation of opening hours, visitor traffic analyses and for a lot of other benefits. Histograms of oriented gradients, SVM classificator and optical flow monitoring were used to solve this problem. The method of multiple hypothesis tracking was selected for the association data. The system's quality was evaluated from the video footage of the street with the large concentration of pedestrians and from the school's camera system, where the movement in the corridor was monitored and the number of people counted.

Robotic Shopping Cart

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the project of application about planning the robot’s movement in order to follow the specified person. At the beginning of the work, the Microsoft Kinect sensor which is used for sensing nearby objects is described. Hereinafter the possible methods how to identify human figures on the basis of depth data from the Microsoft Kinect sensor are discussed as well. The reader is also familiar with the methods determining the direction of arrival of acoustic signals. Last chapters of the work are dedicated to the motion control of the robot. Finally the complete implementation of the robot software for the platform of Robotic Operating System (ROS) is described.

Breakdowns caused by water hammer

The goal of this bachelors thesis is to explain how water hammer occurs, listing often used protective devices that help mitigate this event and research of accidents caused by water hammer. The thesis deals with theoretical introduction into the topic, describing preservation laws for fluids, most common causes of water hammer and characteristics connected to this phenomenon. Then it mentions often used protective devices for both overpressure and negative pressure. Finally there are accidents caused by water hammer, some with unusual causes, which however still need to be taken into consideration when designing a pipeline.

Title: Numerical Optimization Methods for the Falsification of Hybrid Dynamical Systems Author: Jan Kuřátko Department: Department of Numerical Mathematics Supervisor: Stefan Ratschan, Institute of Computer Science, The Czech Academy of Sciences Abstract: This thesis consists of three published papers that contribute to the finding of error trajectories of hybrid dynamical systems. A hybrid dynamical system is a dynamical system that has both discrete and continuous state. For example, one can use it as a model for a thermostat in a room: Such a thermostat may have two discrete states, one where the heating is off, and another one, where the heating is on. Its continuous state is the temperature in the room. For such a model one may be interested in finding an error trajectory, that is, an evolution of the system that reaches an unsafe state that is to be avoided. Industry is in need of methods for automatized testing and verification of safety conditions in order to identify flaws in the design of systems. Analýza výpočtu největšího společného dělitele polynomů

In this work, the analysis of the computation of the greatest common divisor of univariate and bivariate polynomials is presented. The whole process is split into three stages. In the first stage, data preprocessing is explained and the resulting better numerical behavior is demonstrated. Next stage is concerned with the problem of the computation of the numerical rank of the Sylvester matrix, from which the degree of the greatest common divisor is obtained. The last stage is the actual algorithm for calculating the greatest common divisor of two polynomials. Furthermore, the underlying theory behind the computation of the greatest common divisor is explained and illustrated on many examples. 1
