Coherence between social environment and conversion to Extremism

The Graduation work "Coherence between social environment and conversion to extremism" sets forth an insight into the issue of extremism and socially excluded locations.The aim of the work was to find relations between these two notions. The extremist scene in the Czech Republic was described in details as well as the crime connected to extremism, and psychological expert account of extremist crime perpetrators. Further, the situation of socially excluded locations was introduced, their increase within recent years, and especially problems of children growing up in these locations. Also were mentioned possible mental deprivations, which may occur at children from these location. In the practical part, 37 directed interviews were carried out with Czech extremist parties (both right and left - wing) members. Based on these interviews a conclusion was reached, whether life in socially excluded location may influence an individual's eventual conversion to extremism.
The social program of support for a client with physical handicap

The thesis ,,The social program of support for a client with physical handicap" is devided into two parts. The theoretical part presents the filosofy of the spirit and body, the physicality, body dissability, cerebral palsy and the Act No. 108/2006 Coll., on social services. The empirical part consists of the case managment of the client with cerebral palsy. I describe the goal of the thesis here and the method of collecting data. I also introduce my respondent in this part and mention the tasks of the research. The chapter called ,,Data and it's interpretation" consists of the qualitative interview. The aim of the interview is to show in what extent my respondent use a social services. The interview is the part of the thesis.
Social work with aggressors and victims of domestics violence in Karlovy Vary Region

The diploma thesis is focused on the issues of domestic violence in the region of Karlovy Vary. Important concepts of domestic violence and forms of domestic violence are explained in the text. The thesis also deals with the description of typical characteristics of victims and aggressors, as well as giving instructions on how to work with them appropriately. Furthermore, the text provides information on possible legal assistance for victims of domestic violence. Last but not least, it describes the Intervention Centre for victims of domestic violence in the region of Karlovy Vary. The main intention of the practical part of the thesis is to refer to opinions of the social workers of the Intervention Centre to find out, whether they approve of the idea of working with the aggressors in the Intervention Centre or not. Therefore, the main purpose of the thesis is to determine how exactly the social work with aggressors in domestic violence is implemented in the Intervention Centre in Karlovy Vary region. Moreover, the real lives of victims of domestic violence are interpreted in two case studies. The bachelor work is concerned with the placement of a child in institutional care. The theoretical part decribs the concept of dilemma, division dilemmas, manging dilemmas, dilemma intervence-not intervence and the related decisions, measures child protection and the possibility of solving social workers, within the family and in the case, where a child is at risk. The practical part of the qualitative research in the form of semi- structures interview answers the main research question which is: What procedures apply social workers awithin the dilemma intervence-not intervence? The selected methods of social work with clients self - non sufficient in health care facilities

The main goal of the thesis entitled "The selected methods of social work with clients self-non sufficient in health care facilities" was to describe and to analyze methods used in activation of the elderly suffering from dementia. It draws a comparison of different settings and explores workers's attitude to the methods of activation. The text of the thesis was mapped out into five chapters. The first chapter was set into the context of old age and ageing. The second chapter is concerned with the issues of self-sufficiency and dependency of old age and other related issues. The topic of the third chapter is old age in relation with memory. It defines memory and memory disorders in the elderly suffering from dementia. The fourth chapter is crucial and gives an idea of non-pharmacological and other possible activities which are eligible for application in practice and are intended to reduce cognitive disorders of cognitive functions and behavior disorders. The theoretical part enters into research carried out in four facilities which care for clients with dementia. Assessment of the social network of relationships senior aged 80+

This thesis explores the social relationships of seniors aged 80+. The aim of this work is to evaluate, describe and become familiar with networks of relationships that seniors may have. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with defining the perception of old age and aging, needs of seniors, networks of relationships, seniors living in their natural environment and in the nursing homes. The practical part is focused on the investigation of social relationships networks of the two selected groups of seniors. There is used qualitative research. The work interprets the results of an investigation, which was carried out between the seniors living in the nursing home and in the natural environment in Jeseník.

This diploma thesis consists of two parts; a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part firstly focuses on ageing and old age; it describes in detail the changes which take place during this period of life, concerning both physical and mental state. The reader may further get acquainted with leisure time from different points of view, its definition and especially its role in our lives. The practical part introduces a list of possible leisure time activities suitable for seniors in places where the research was performed. The research itself is then elaborated in the last chapter of the thesis, where both the expectancies as well as achieved outcomes are stated.
Comparative study of social work in the hospice care in Czech Republic and Canada

The main focus of this diploma thesis is on comparison of social workers agendas between Czech Republic and Canada in HPC. The main goal is to describe the most essential and desirable roles and competencies of social workers in hospices. The first thematical block is describing the history of hospices in both countries, their values, and formes of help. Into this block is belonging also the topic of financial funding and goals of the hospice associations for the future. Next chapters are devoted to the field of social work. We are examining the qualification, the financial adequacy, the prestige of this field and the specifications for effective motivation of these specialists. The third block is extensively examining the roles and competencies of social workers HPC. These results we are trying to verify in the survey part. We are asking both, the social workers as well as the public on the level of essentiality of every single social worker role.
