Sexual Exploitation and Abuse by UN Peacekeepers
Králik, Ján ; Šturma, Pavel (advisor) ; Hýbnerová, Stanislava (referee) ; Faix, Martin (referee)
The thesis provides legal analysis of sexual exploitation and abuse by UN peacekeepers with particular focus on military members of national peacekeeping contingents. It provides brief survey of peacekeeping operations thereby underlying their importance in the contemporary activities of the UN and describing factors that have caused or might led to sexual exploitation and abuse by UN peacekeepers. Furthermore, UN action towards those acts is described and it is also evaluated whether such steps are successful, sufficient and whether more could have been done or what more can be done in the future. A part is also dedicated to international humanitarian law perspective and international human rights law. In this context, the author tries to answer the question if and when the sexual exploitation and abuse by members of national peacekeeping contingents while deployed to a UN peacekeeping mission may constitute war crimes or crimes against humanity and whether there is a role to play by International Criminal Court. In the same vein, issues of extraterritorial application of human rights treaties are discussed. The question of international responsibility is the central topic of this thesis. Apart from individual responsibility of members of national peacekeeping contingents for acts of sexual...
Diachronic comparison of synchronic corpora
Křen, Michal ; Čermák, František (advisor) ; Kučera, Karel (referee) ; Králík, Jan (referee)
The thesis presents a method for diachronic comparison of synchronic corpora that reflect language of very close time periods. Its primary aim is the assessment of possi- bilities and limitations of language change detection based on the synchronic written SYN-series corpora. The approach is corpus-driven, based on a statistical evaluation of differences among normalized average reduced frequencies of lemmata and lexical combinations. There are several variants of the method applied on various subcorpora of corpus SYN and their results examined in detail. Difficulty of the comparison lies in the influence of corpus composition and the interconnection of changes in language with changes in society. As it is not easy to distinguish the signs of diachronic shift from naturally existing synchronic variability, the statistically discovered significance of frequency differences is additionally verified by querying the base corpora. The interpretation of the results is also adjusted by the knowledge of their exact composition. The conclusions are based mainly on the newspapers as a written text type that is most receptive to the changes. The changes can be characterized as a thematic diversion from the original political and economical orientation of the newspapers towards real- life and free-time topics...
Floor detection during elevator ride
Havelka, Martin ; Králík, Jan (referee) ; Krejsa, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the detection of the current floor during elevator ride. This functionality is necessary for robot to move in multi-floor building. For this task, a fusion of accelerometric data during the ride of the elevator and image data obtained from the information display inside the elevator cabin is used. The research describes the already implemented solutions, data fusion methods and image classification options. Based on this part, suitable approaches for solving the problem were proposed. First, datasets from different types of elevator cabins were obtained. An algorithm for working with data from the accelerometric sensor was developed. A convolutional neural network, which was used to classify image data from displays, was selected and trained. Subsequently, the data fusion method was implemented. The individual parts were tested and evaluated. Based on their evaluation, integration into one functional system was performed. System was successfully verified and tested. Result of detection during the ride in different elevators was 97%.
2D Point-cloud segmentation for curve fitting
Šooš, Marek ; Krejsa, Jiří (referee) ; Králík, Jan (advisor)
The presented diploma thesis deals with the division of points into homogeneous groups. The work provides a broad overview of the current state in this topic and a brief explanation of the main segmentation methods principles. From the analysis of the articles are selected and programmed five algorithms. The work defines the principles of selected algorithms and explains their mathematical models. For each algorithm is also given a code design description. The diploma thesis also contains a cross comparison of segmentation capabilities of individual algorithms on created as well as on measured data. The results of the curves extraction are compared with each other graphically and numerically. At the end of the work is a comparison graph of time dependence on the number of points and the table that includes a mutual comparison of algorithms in specific areas.

Analysis of AHRS unit robustness
Honkyš, Pavel ; Králík, Jan (referee) ; Spáčil, Tomáš (advisor)
This work deals with the measurement of low cost MEMS sensors and their measurement inaccuracy caused by acceleration, this effect is described as G-sensitivity. The aim was to put the test station into operation, to design electronics containing a microcontroller, which sends the measured information to a computer using a wireless module, here to estimate the angle of rotation of the sensor using a suitable algorithm and to design a compensation algorithm to suppress the effect of acceleration. The measured data were processed using Madgwick's algorithm, where the error of the measured angle of rotation occurred during the action of acceleration.
Control system design for small test machine
Rasocha, David ; Králík, Jan (referee) ; Věchet, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis focuses on design of small testing machine for measuring tensile strength of materials. Appropriate hardware for driving the motor with serial communication will be used. Main drive is a stepper motor with microstepping. Instructions for motor is provided by microcontroler which will be comunicating with aplication in computer. This aplication will have all user functions nessesary for using this device.
Design of autonomous vehicle simulator
Design and realization of serial communication monitor
Šnajder, Jan ; Králík, Jan (referee) ; Krejsa, Jiří (advisor)
Aim of this thesis is design and realization of serial communication monitor. The thesis describes creation of hardware device responsible for collecting data from analyzed communications and for distribution of these data by USB bus. Thesis also explains connection between serial monitor and software Wireshark by extcap interface. Visualization of data in readable format is done by decoding script, which is tested by selected protocol. The last part of the study is focused on evaluation of data permeability of hardware device according to data line fullness.
