Theory of a healthy city of the 21st century
Liptáková, Adela ; Kotrla, Jakub (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The first part of the thesis focuses on characterizing the problems, their origins, and their negative consequences. Furthermore, the thesis discusses the trends related to safe and healthy, or sustainable, public spaces. The thesis operates with the knowledge of Danish architect Jan Gehl, who argues that cities should primarily be designed for people. In terms of addressing the issue of a safe city, this work draws upon the writings of Jane Jacobs, who holds a similar view to Jan Gehl. Subsequently, the thesis transitions from a general perspective on a healthy city to examining the situation in the city of Brno, providing an assessment of the state of its public urban space. The practical part then delves into specific measures and policies that have been implemented abroad and proven to be successful. The thesis concludes with a simplified proposal for the revitalization of the brownfield of the former Kohn´s brick factory in Brno, where the insights from the theoretical part of the thesis are applied.
Green infrastructure in the Czech republic and the European union
Kotrla, Jakub
The concept of green infrastructure has recently been increasingly discussed, but it has not been legislated for a long time. Green infrastructure has a slightly different meaning and understanding in each individual country. Green, green-blue, blue-green, green-blue-gray – all these appear in the world, but their use has not yet been unified. Green infrastructure generally means all green elements that appear in settlements. The green-blue infrastructure also adds water features. However, approaches to this phenomenon are very different in the countries of the European Union. This also affects the degree of protection of the landscape and the elements found in it. The article provides a review of approaches to green infrastructure from the EU's point of view, including examples, as well as a link to the legislation of the Czech Republic. In the Czech Republic, this term did not have a uniform definition for a long time. It was only with the new Act No. 283/2021 Coll., the Construction Act, that the concept of green infrastructure was legislated in the Czech Republic. The division of public infrastructure is defined here, i.e. land, buildings and facilities serving public needs. In the legal system of the Czech Republic, it is therefore not only about vegetation and water elements, but also the territorial system of the ecological stability of the landscape.

Space maps for human-like agents
Kotrla, Jakub ; Brom, Cyril (advisor) ; Lukavský, Jiří (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to create model of spatial map for human-like agent living in virtual world. The model will increase agent's ability to mimic some aspects of human behaviour. These includes inaccuracy of spatial memories, gradual learning and forgetting. In thesis we introduce model based on results of research of places cells. Spatial map consists of nodes that are at rst distributed uniformly in the world. Virtual agent wanders through world and perceive surrounding objects. Spatial map gradually changes distribution of nodes in world according to agent's perceptions. Model is able to recognize areas with higher count of objects and create concepts of places. Algorithms of model are described including their time complexity. Model was implemented in Python and tested. At the end of thesis we present several possible extensions and future work.
