The purpose my thesis is to analyse the substantive and temporal scope of application of selected general binding rules governing the international sales contract and to analyse their mutual relations. The work is composed of six chapters, each of them dealing with a different issue of international sales contract. The first chapter deals with the definition of the term international sales contract in view of the practical and theoretical understanding, because the definition of an international sales contract has its own specifics in contrast to the definition of a sales contract in Czech law. The second chapter discusses the basic approaches of legal regulation in private international law and outlines the basic advantages and disadvantages of specific approaches of legal regulation in private international law in view of the international sales contract in this section. I put this chapter into my work for the better understanding and orientation of reader in issue of general regulation of international sales contract. The international sales contract is one of the most important and frequently used legal instruments in the area of international business relations. Despite its functional stability, it is subject of continuous interest of legal theory and practice through which the questions related to its legal regulation are tackled. Therefore, this thesis deals with international sales contract and the perspective of its legal regulation. Particularly, the aim of this thesis is to answer the question on how the regulation of international sales contract is developing with regard to the national and supranational law, especially the Act on international private law, the Vienna convention, the Rome I regulation and the CESL (Common European Sales Law). The thesis considers this question both from the entrepreneurs' and customers' point of view. Besides the general theoretical aspects of the international sales contract, the thesis also focuses on particular legal acts containing the most relevant regulation of international sales contract and the structure and framework of the thesis corresponds with this focus. International sales contract in relation to consumer

The thesis deals with issues of the position of consumer as a contracting party in case of international sales contract and it deals with the protection which is provided to consumer in the international trade, especially in relation to the consumer's position. In the first three chapters the thesis focuses on general explanations relating to the international sale of goods relating to consumer, namely on the definition of sales contract, the foreign element in case of international sales contract and basic approaches of legal regulation in private international law. The fourth chapter concentrates on the consumer. Regarding the consumer contracts, the thesis analyses the basic terminology of therein in the Czech and the EU context. The previous explanations are followed by other five chapters which analyze the specific provisions of the legislation of private international law which are related to consumer protection as a party international sale of goods. The thesis therefore concentrates on the Vienna Convention on the international sale of goods (CISG), Rome I Regulation, proposal on CESL and Act on Private International Law.
