Structured Data Extraction from Unstructured Text
Kóša, Peter ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Kopecký, Michal (referee)
Title: Structured Data Extraction from Unstructured Text Author: Bc. Peter Kóša Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: Mgr. Martin Nečaský, Ph.D., Department of Software Engineering Abstract: In the last 20 years, there has been an ever-growing amount of information present on the Internet and in published texts. However, this information is often in a non-structured format and this causes various problems such as the inability to efficiently search in diverse collections of texts (medical reports, ads, etc.). To overcome these problems, we need efficient tools capable of automatic processing, extracting the important information and storing of these results in some form for later reuse. The purpose of this thesis is to compare existing solutions as well as to compare them with our solution, which was created in the scope of software project SemJob. The SemJob project is introduced and the reader can therefore obtain knowledge about its inner structure and workings. Keywords: structured data extraction, extraction rules, ontologies, (semi)automatic wrapper induction
Editor's office workflow management system
Pospíšil, Martin ; Kopecký, Michal (advisor) ; Babka, Martin (referee)
Title: Editor's office workflow management system Author: Martin Pospisil Department: The Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: RNDr. Michal Kopecky, Ph.D., The Department of Software Engineering Abstract: The goal of this bachelor thesis is to analyze and implement an editorial system that supports the process management in a company which operates and administrates several web portals aimed to health care and medical science. The goal is to make the work within the company more effective a make the process management more transparent to decrease the amount of work that must be performed manually. It should lead to reducing the costs. The system ensures a complete evidence and management of the process of creating and publishing articles. Consequently it allows to automatically generate work reports which serve as the records for paying the editorial's office staff.
Products Catalogue Configuration Framework
Dzurenko, Miroslav ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Kopecký, Michal (referee)
Market segmentation is growing as customers become more and more demanding for individual products and exclusive services. Companies are introducing new applications and products across many industries , that can be tailored easily to specific customers and markets. To be successful, the organisations have to offer a high level of customisation and customer-centric processes. However, traditional companies in financial, telecommunication and insurance industry struggle with the technological challenges associated with becoming customer focused enterprises. The aim of this thesis is to define the products catalogue framework, that will provide products bundling and customisation capabilities with user-friendly GUI. Therefore, the most of the work can be designed by business users without additional intensive development efforts. Moreover, the viability of the framework was evaluated on the solution based on IBM technologies. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Munis Instant

Title: Munis Instant Author: Lukáš Tomasy Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: RNDr. David Hoksza Supervisor's e-mail address: hoksza@ksi.mff.cuni.cz Abstract: Quick searching of information was always very important for people. Today, in era of internet and information system it is perhaps even more important. Therefore software engineers around the globe try to develop as sophisticated search system as possible. Project Munis Instant should join this initiative and should provide intelligent searching of informations based on instantly displaying relevant data from the database alongside with typing. Program is being developed as a library written in .NET platform and can be used over any database supported by .NET (OldDbProvider). The main goal was, the should be independent on database system or information system. Keywords: Searching, information system, .NET

Persistent data structures in C
Hájek, Jakub ; Kopecký, Michal (advisor) ; Falt, Zbyněk (referee)
Persistent data structures in C Abstract: This work describes the design and implementation of persistent data structures framework for C programming language. It discusses effective imple- mentation of persistent structures and providing transparent manipulation of data. This work defines services which should be provided by persistent layer and tries to define some general persistent layer interface for good extensibility. In the end it analyses performance issues of various data storages and tries to specify class of applications, which could use persistent data structures framework. Keywords: persistent tree structures, C, data structures
Web Management for Server Hosting
Mach, Vladimír ; Kopecký, Michal (advisor) ; Lasák, Petr (referee)
Manual management and administration of hosting infrastructure easily becomes time consuming even for relatively low number of clients. Although the required tasks are highly repetitive, solutions generally available on the market don't meet the modern needs of small and quickly growing businesses. This work summarizes long-term experience with commercial customers and their requirements, introduces the two most popular products for hosting administration and their pros and cons, and finally suggests own solution to discussed problems. A PHP implementation of the suggested model is part of the work, including user's and developers' documentation.
Photo Catalog
Tomeš, Jiří ; Kopecký, Michal (advisor) ; Martínek, Vladislav (referee)
The thesis describes design and implementation of photo organiser. The emphasis is put on simplicity, platform independence and on ability to burn the program together with photos and collected metadata on CD or DVD. The user can assign photos to own tag hierarchies. Search is then possible not only by defined tags, but also by basic and EXIF information stored within photographs. The application provides a flexible environment that can be customised to your needs.
Detection of Duplicates in Huge Web Databases
Sadloň, Vladimír ; Galamboš, Leo (advisor) ; Kopecký, Michal (referee)
This master thesis analyses the methods used for duplicity document detection and possibilities of their integration with a web search engine. It offers an overview of commonly used methods, from which it chooses the method of approximation of the Jaccard similarity measure in combination with shingling. The chosen method is adapted for implementation in the Egothor web search engine environment. The aim of the thesis is to present this implementation, describe its features, and find the most suitable parameters for the detection to run in real time. An important feature of the described method is also the possibility to make dynamic changes over the collection of indexed documents.
Adaptation of Relational Database Schema
Chytil, Martin ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Kopecký, Michal (referee)
In the presented work we study evolution of a database schema and its impact on related issues. The work contains a review of important problems related to the change in a respective storage of the data. It describes existing approaches of these problems as well. In detail the work analyzes an impact of database schema changes on database queries, which relate to the particular database schema. The approach presented in this thesis shows a ability to model database queries together with a database schema model. The thesis describes a solution how to adapt database queries related to the evolved database schema. Finally the work contains a number of experiments that verify a proposal of the presented solution.
