Create CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) for small organisation
Medeová, Veronika ; Hammer, Jaromír (referee) ; Koštial, Rostislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of maintaining airworthiness of aircraft, which is mostly limited by time, number of flew hours or number of landings. Based on the airplane data are scheduled regular services or replacement of individual parts are performed. All organizations authorized to perform these service activities must hold a certificate issued in accordance with Part M, Subpart G. Organizations authorized to provide airworthiness monitoring are referred as CAMO. The aim of my work is to create CAMO for a small organization using one to three aircraft category CS-23 and to create a description of the regulations and requirements that this organization must follow for successful continuing airworthiness management.
Aircraft Braking Systems
Bulko, Martin ; Koštial, Rostislav (referee) ; Bencalík, Karol (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on problems of braking of aircraft. It describes constituent systems of braking and explains on schemes their function and application. It mentions main advantages and disadvantages of these systems with their subsequent comparison. The thesis includes a summary of braking systems which are used by commercial airplane with capacity over a hundred passengers. There is also analyzed development of braking force size of these airplanes.
Maintenance of jet engines
Drápal, Stanislav ; Koštial, Rostislav (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis relates to the problematic of jet engine maintenance. In the first part the reader is introduced to the historic context and functionality of the jet engine as well as to the various types of this engine. The second part relates to the problematic of maintenance, shows and compares different concepts and shows modern trends in this field. The last part is based on my visit in Letecké opravny Malešice, and shows practical methods used during overhauls of jet engines.
Fatigue Evaluation of Aircraft Structure According to FAR Part 23 Airworthiness Standards
Čermák, Jakub ; Koštial, Rostislav (referee) ; Augustin, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with acceptable means of showing compliance with the FAR 23 regulation based on safe-life experimental and analytical evaluation. In the introduction the author focuses on the historical development of the regulation and follows with summarization of current requirements. The subsequent pages describes in detail the certification based on full-scale testing, component testing and structural analysis using the cumulative rule. Appendix includes examples of load spectra approved by the FAA.
Modern Maintenance Procedures for Airframe Inspections for General Aviation Category Aircraft
Koštial, Rostislav ; Petrásek, Miloslav (referee) ; Třetina, Karel (referee) ; Hlinka, Jiří (advisor)
Aircraft scheduled maintenance requirements are rapidly extending and developing due to rapid evolution of small aircraft. This evolution leads to implementation of until recently exclusively airliner class maintenance standards. In the field of general aviation and FAR 23/ EASA CS-23 especially, preventive maintenance based on part replacing or repairing is still dominant. DAMAGE TOLERANCE philosophy implementation into an aircraft design influences maintenance procedures, which are adjusted to older SAFE LIFE philosophy. Aircraft manufactures are developing new ways, how to integrate requirements of damage tolerance application into scheduled maintenance procedures. Huge airliner manufactures (FAR 25/ CS-25) are using the ATA MSG-3 intelligent maintenance approach based on inspection. This dissertation thesis develops intelligent scheduled maintenance methodology, utilizing ATA MSG-3 procedures, expert knowledge and Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA).
Maintenance work design for small transport aircraft
Bednář, Ondřej ; Koštial, Rostislav (referee) ; Třetina, Karel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design maintenance work for a small transport aircraft. This thesis is focused on an overview of the activities, which are carried out in the maintenance of small transport aircraft with a capacity about fifty passengers. The first part of this thesis is conceived as a theoretical part and summarizes the activities used during maintenance - maintenance methods, a typical part failures, diagnostics, network analysis and equations for the calculating of the cost of maintenance. At the beginning are showed the basic characteristics of selected representatives of this category and regulatory requirements on them. The design of maintenance work is in the second half of the thesis. It includes the visualization of the database that could be used for the maintenance of aircraft and which could be subsequently evaluated. This is a general description of the maintenance work, which ca be performed during the pre-flight inspection, re-inspection for repeated flights, preliminary preparation and periodic maintenance.
Human powered airplanes overview
Valuch, Tomáš ; Koštial, Rostislav (referee) ; Zikmund, Pavel (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis is elaborated historical development of human-powered aircrafts. The aim is to asses an overview of human-powered aircraft, to evaluate trends in the airframe structure and evaluate trends of specific design parameters. The first part deals with the historical development of the aircrafts. The next part focuses on the description of Kremer‘s prices and their importance for the development of this aircraft category. The following describes the structural components of the airframe and structural parameters. These parameters and flight performance are assessed. The last section is devoted to future developments and accomplishments records.
Development of rocket engines
Marcinko, Peter ; Cejpek, Jakub (referee) ; Koštial, Rostislav (advisor)
This thesis describes the development of rocket engines since the beginning to present time. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first describes the main physical principles, which have to be respected during the flight. The second part talks about the basic division of rocket engines and the used fuel types. Tle last chapter deals with Russian, American and European rocket program. It describes the main types of space rockets together with the engines they used.
Flight Simulator of General Aviation Aircraft
Mamula, Marko ; Koštial, Rostislav (referee) ; Matějů, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor‘s thesis maps the major and mostly used commercial flight simulator softwares on the market, and points out the main differences in developing the aircraft in each simulator. It focuses on the flight simulator X-Plane and describes how it works with the flight model. The main goal of this thesis is developing a virtual model of an experimental aircraft VUT-061 Turbo and comparing its flight data with the data measured on the actual aircraft. Furthermore it suggests the adequate hardware needed for completing the physical simulator.
Use of data from flight data recorder for aircraft maintenance
Vráblíková, Lucie ; Horpatzká, Michaela (referee) ; Koštial, Rostislav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with analysis of existing solutions for collecting maintenance data and technical condition of the aircraft. Based on this analysis, it proposes a trend monitoring system based on the existing structure and data from the flight data recorder.
