Current approaches in the speech therapy for children with Down syndrome

The thesis discusses the specific therapeutic methods and techniques that can be used in the context of speech therapy for children with Down syndrome who suffer from symptomatic speech disorder. The thesis includes the complete terminological definition of Down syndrome etiology, diagnosis and detailed elaboration of the therapeutic methods. It also includes complementary therapies that contribute to the overall development of the child's communication skills. The main objective of the thesis is to analyze the speech therapy. It may be an inspiration for speech therapists, parents, teachers in kindergartens and primary schools who take care of children with Down syndrome and want to contribute to improvement of communication skills of the children. The thesis can be a starting point for further scientific work that deals with similar issues. Speech therapy as a part of spa treatment

The present diploma thesis called Speech Therapy as a part of Spa Treatment is about to describe the profession of the speech therapist as a part of a team in rehabilitation programmes. This is also the main objective of the thesis and other sub-objectives are created. One of these is to determine the type of communication ability that is most frequent in these types of facilities. Next sub-objective is identify and describe the methods that are the most used by speech therapist in diagnostics and, last but not least, to attempt to chart the most used therapies. Semi-structured interviews with speech therapist and questionnaires, that were presented to patiens, were used in qualitative research. The research was realized in two spa facilities of the same orientation located in the Moravian-Silesian Region.
Aphasia in group of adults

Thesis is focused on special education - speech therapy and summarizes current findings about etiology, classification and symptomatology of aphasia, it also involves different approaches to the diagnosis and therapy. Thesis contains therapeutical materials, the use of which in practice is illustrated by case studies of five individuals with aphasia.
Communication skills of pupils at special elementary school

The thesis deals with communication abilities of pupils attending special elementary school. The theoretical part summarizes the general knowledge of communication, the development of speech in the healthy population and impaired communication abilities. It also deals with the description, the etiology and symptoms of mental disability, Down syndrome and combined disabilities, especially cerebral palsy. The final part summarizes knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication used for patients with severely impaired communication skills. The practical part consists of the interpretation of the results of the research, dealing with the analysis of the communication skills of pupils from special elementary school, especially comparisons of evaluations of this communication by family members and professionals who work with the specific person. The result of the research is the fact that the communication skills of students from special elementary schools are very individual and family assessment and key worker may not coincide. It always depends on the type of disability, support of families and professionals as well as the personality traits of the individual. Speech therapy of people after stroke

The diploma thesis deals with the speech therapy of people after stroke. The aim of this diploma thesis is the analysis of the communication abilities of people after stroke. On the basis of this analysis was created for two person therapeutic material, which was verified during speech therapy. The diploma thesis is devided into two parts. The theoretical part of the thesis analyses the issue of stroke and neurogenic communication disorders on the basis of the current state of knowledge. The practical part of the thesis is performed with qualitatively focused research with the use of case studies, observation and creating own therapeutic material. Case studies describe speech therapy and work with material. The research shows that the therapeutic material is usable in practice. Evaluation design therapy of neurogenic disorders of language in clinical speech therapy

The thesis titled Evaluation design therapy of neurogenic disorders of language in clinical speech therapy aims to find out what effect the speech reeducation to improve communication skills in people with acquired neurogenic communication disorders speech. Next, determine whether therapy plays a role during client environment, if the success rate of therapy affected patient's condition and the extent to which the clients are motivated to therapy. The theoretical part summarizes the findings from the literature on neurogenic communication disorders, aphasia and dysarthria. Each chapter is devoted to the terminological definition and definition, etiology, symptoms (for aphasia), classification, diagnostics and therapy. The practical part deals with the research survey. There are set targets mentioned methodology, research sample characteristics and place of the investigation. Following processing of four case studies. Communication skills development integrated pupils 1st stage of primary school

This thesis deals the special pedagogical problems of education of integrated pupils in primary school. The aim of this thesis is analyze the communicative skills of pupils with different educational needs. The partial aim of this thesis is finding development of individual language levels of children with special educational needs in primary school according to a story from the book that commonly used in the classroom. The theoretical part is the basis for meeting performance targets. It dedicated to communication, speech and its development and individual education program. The practical part is based on method of qualitative nature - casuistries of pupils with different educational needs in primary school.
