Effects of environmental drag onto a fast-moving magnetic compact star near a supermassive black hole
Karas, Vladimír ; Šubr, L. ; Kunneriath, Devaky ; Zajaček, Michal
The authors discuss whether a strong magnetic field of a neutron star can significantly enhance the drag effect by increasing the effective cross-sectional area for the mutual interaction.
Tidal disruption events from a nuclear star cluster as possible origin of transient relativistic spectral lines near SMBH
Karas, Vladimír ; Dovčiak, Michal ; Kunneriath, Devaky ; Yu, W. ; Zhang, W.
The authors discuss a possibility that a tidal disruption event near a dormant supermassive black hole can give rise to spectral features of iron in 6-7keV X-ray signal.
Triggered oscillations and destruction of magnetized relativistic tori in 2D
Hamerský, Jaroslav ; Karas, Vladimír
The toroidal magnetic field plays a more important role in the early phases of the accretion process until the perturbed configuration finds a new equilibrium or disappears because of the runaway instability. We showed that additional perturbations in the vertical direction can lead to relativistic outflows if the perturbations are strong enough so that the mass could get far from the equatorial plane.
Modelling steep radial emissivity in relativistic iron lines from black-hole accretion discs
Svoboda, Jiří ; Dovčiak, Michal ; Karas, Vladimír ; Goosmann, R. W.
The authors discuss whether the special conditions on the corona properties are indeed required, and/or whether the steep radial emissivity could be an artefact of model assumptions.
Application of a sympletic integrator in a non-integrable relativistic system
Kopáček, Ondřej ; Karas, Vladimír ; Kovář, J. ; Stuchlík, Z.
The authors present a detailed comparison of several integration schemes applied to the dynamic system consisting of a charged particle on the Kerr background endowed with the axisymmetric electromagnetic test field.
Revealing general relativity effects from accretion events near a supermassive black hole
Karas, Vladimír ; Dovčiak, Michal ; Eckart, A. ; Kunneriath, Devaky ; Zamaninasab, M.
The authors discuss the general relativity effects acting on the radiationmsignal from the inner accretion flow.
An Introduction to relativistic magnetohydrodynamics. II. Case of stationary electro-vacuum fields around black holes
Karas, Vladimír
The lecture on electrodynamical effects near black holes. The author summarize the basic equations of relativistic electrodynamics in terms of spin-coefficien formalism.
On transfer of mass and angular momentum from accretion disk onto black hole
Hamerský, Jaroslav ; Karas, Vladimír
We study the properties of accretion tori orbiting Kerr black hole. Our approach to this problem comes from the solving of general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic equations, which follow from conservation of the energy-momentum tensor, the particle number and from Maxwell's equations. We solve these equations by numerical methods. We are interested in tori with constant density of angular momentum and those with radially increasing angular momentum density. We study accretion rates in these tori when the mass of black hole is increased suddenly and so the equilibrium in the torus is perturbed. We also study the influence of the presence of toroidal magnetic field on accretion rates.
Extremal energy shifts of radiation from a ring near a rotating black hole
Sochora, Vjačeslav ; Karas, Vladimír
We present a semi-analytical solution to the problem of finding minimal and maximal energy shifts of radiation originating from an accretion ring near a black hole. The solution is given implicitly in terms of a set of two coupled equations for two unknowns – the constants of photon motion.
Porovnání modelů relativistické čáry železa
Svoboda, Jiří ; Dovčiak, Michal ; Goosmann, René ; Karas, Vladimír
The analysis of the broad iron line profile in the X-ray spectra of active galactic nuclei and black hole X-ray binaries allows us to constrain the spin parameter of the black hole. We compare the constraints on the spin value for two X-ray sources, MCG-6-30-15 and GX 339-4, with a broad iron line using present relativistic line models in XSPEC - LAOR and KYRLINE.
