Lorenc, Eva ; Tichá, Libuše (advisor) ; Palkovská, Jana (referee) ; Krajný, Boris (referee)
The beginnings of piano playing of children play an important role in laying quality pianistic groundings, which are crucial for their further pianistic development as well as for building their relationship with the instrument and music itself. This thesis is devoted to the study of elementary piano teaching of children aged 5-7 years. The aim of the thesis is to map the current state of piano pedagogy in Czech Republic and to propose optimal methodological procedures and solutions in the initial piano lessons based on modern pedagogical approaches and the needs of contemporary piano pedagogy. In five chapters of the work, this goal will be achieved by examining the historical background of piano schools in Bohemia over the centuries to this day, by setting up theoretical and practical bases for the researched issue and finally by research itself. Within the framework of practical bases, which served as a basis for subsequent research, an optimal methodological approach to teaching in the early stage of piano playing was proposed for children aged 5-7 years, which corresponds to the most modern requirements of the field. The optimal selection and arrangement of sheet music for the given area of pedagogy was also designed with a focus on Czech and foreign piano schools and instructive piano...

ILJA HURNÍK AND HIS BENEFITS TO PIANO TEACHING
Skleničková, Ráchel ; KLÁNSKÝ, Ivan (advisor) ; KRAJNÝ, Boris (referee)
This bachelor degree thesis focuses on the work of a famous Czech composer, pianist, writer and teacher; Ilja Hurník. Most of his teaching methods and piano works were created for children. The thesis also summarizes research on how favored these works are among piano teachers and children, as well as, how they enrich their subjects. After the introduction, Hurník's life is shortly described. This is then followed by an abridged list of his musical non‑piano work and his books to help orient the reader. The following chapter deals with his piano work, teaching compositions for children and his principles of teaching. This chapter is further broken down and contains partial lists of the works relating to these areas. The final part of the thesis is a research of the popularity of Hurník’s pieces created for the purpose of teaching. The research was done through a questionnaire and the answers of the respondents are processed quantitatively. The form of the questionnaire was a simple rating system (yes/no or never/sometimes/often/always tick boxes) and free from comments were not used. These responses were then tabulated and the answers summarized.

This work focuses on describtion and analysis of Preludes by A.N.Scriabin. During his life, Scriabin composed 90 preludes. These pieces can be divided in 3 periods - early, middle and late period. The differences between these periods of time are connected to a transition from being a composer to being a philosopher. The development of his philosophical thoughts are described in a chapter called Composer - Philosopher. In chapter three, I concentrate on the influence by F. Chopin in Scriabins early years. I also compare their 24 preludes. The further development of harmony and motive structure is discussed in the last chapter. An analysis of his last composition - 5 preludes op. 74, is included. Analysis of Scriabins preludes is influenced by my personal experience - in that I see the biggest contribution of my thesis.
