Preparedness of Finnish Education System to Curricula Reform

This thesis introduces a topic of current educational reform in Finland. The main goal is to describe a process of implementation of current curricula reform in Finland and evaluate a preparedness of teachers, students of teacher education and management of curricula to curricula reform. In theoretical part, we define "curriculum" and "curriculum reform", then we briefly introduce change management, reasons for successful or unsuccessful reform and specifics of finnish education system. The research part analyses the Finnish National Core Curriculum from 2004 and 2014 in detail. It also analyses interview with teachers, students of teacher education and management of reform. Based on research part of the thesis, we can say that teachers and students have been prepared in a field of knowledge, however they have not been prepared for implementing the ideas of reform into their everyday teaching. The management of reform has been prepared for implementation. Management includes teacher and other stakeholders into creating of the new curricula, the reform is communicated and finances for the reform are secured. Conclusion of the thesis summerize answers for research questions and brings recommendations for a further research.
Mentoring novice teachers in Finland

This thesis introduces a topic of mentoring of novice teachers in Finland. The main goal is to analyse a novice teachers peer-group mentoring model as a case study of project Paedeia Café and evaluate its advantages and disadvantages in comparison to dyadic form of mentoring. Further, to bring ideas for implementation of Finnish experiences into Czech context. In theoretical part, we define mentoring in teaching profession, then we briefly introduce specifics of Finnish education system, peer-group mentoring and Paedeia Café. The research part analyses interview with mentors, novice teachers and manager of the project as well as participating observations. The results of the study show that Paedeia Café is a project which connects experienced teachers and students in last years of their studies. The advantages of the project are financial savings and creation of a space for discussion about professional issues. Disadvantages are more difficult structure, confusion of mentor's roles and low support in academic literature. In the Czech Republic, we can be inspired by a connection of experienced teachers and students, also by a space for sharing teaching profession experience in informal atmosphere. The Risks of Rewards and Punishments in School Age Children

This thesis deals with risks of rewards and punishments in school age children. The theme has been analysed from a few points of view. At first, I show the differences between punishments and rewards in the past and nowadays, secondly I look into the theme with three psychological theories, Behaviorism, Humanistic psychology and Cognitive psychology. In the main part of the thesis, there are defined the main risks by the synthesis of Czech and foreign sources. I mention also reasons why is the thesis focused on school age children. My thesis brings some evidence that the use of rewards and punishments could be a significant problem for development of child personality. However this problem is still rarely discussed. This thesis is focused on parents, educators and tutors who could be helped to think about negative consequences of rewarding and punishing. Growth performance of lambs Šumava sheep (SO) and hybrids Šumava sheep and Suffolk (ŠOxSu)

Sheep farming is very suitable agricultural sectors in mountain and foothill areas. In recent years it has become increasingly popular. The indisputable advantage sheep's landscape maintenance by grazing land and in difficult to reach locations. The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the growth performance of lambs and sheep hybrids Bohemian Sumava sheep and Suffolk. Literature research is focused on selected breeds of sheep and their distribution in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, the use of sheep and their impact on the landscape, growth performance of lambs and factors influencing growth. On the basis of the records and own calculations were made by the research found that the highest average value of the monitored herd of crossbred ewe lambs reached Šumava sheep and Suffolk sheep breed, this value was 41.6 kg.
