Solar illumination determination of the surface around Moon's south pole.
Čašek, Jakub ; Kolář, Jan (advisor) ; Bayer, Tomáš (referee)
Determination of Sun illumination on the South Pole of the Moon Abstract The aim of this work is to find general solution for determination of Sun illumination on the South Pole of the Moon, which is essential for determination of permanently sunlit areas on the South Pole. For the work freely available data from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter's Laser Altimeter was used. First two parts focuse on permanently illuminated areas, brief history of Moon mapping and acquisition and characteristics of used data. In the third part the theoretic procedure is characterized mainly the creation of figures essential for calculating the necessary parameters. In the fourth part of the work the use of figures in the selected GIS program and the whole procedure is described. The result was presented as a map of illuminated areas of South Pole of the Moon in one position of Sun. Key words: Moon, illumination, digital terrain model, GIS
Procedure of a smile effect radiometric correction for hyperspectral scanner
Skalický, Filip ; Kolář, Jan (advisor) ; Kopačková, Veronika (referee)
The diploma theses focused on the topic of removing spectral aberration of sensor. The anomaly is being called spectral smile effect, or spectral curvature. Usually are with this artifact affected hyperspectral sensors, whose sensing is based on principle corresponding to pushbroom scanner. The defect occurs in the data as brightness gradient in the cross-track direction to the sensor flight and affects the object's spectral characteristics shape. Removing is important particularly in case of applying atmospheric correction algorithm, which are being degraded with presence of this defect. The work contents description of current methods used for detecting and eliminating this anomaly. The work is closer focused on the methods removing the defect based on own measured data without use of calibration targets. There is being examined sensitivity of the methods on the scene perception character, meaning heterogeneity of the scene and other outside influence. One of the methods is deeply processed resulting in increasing quality of the method for removing the defect.
The creation of the Soviet union's ideal and its media image in the Czechoslovak media in 1950's
Cihlářová, Gabriela ; Köpplová, Barbara (advisor) ; Kolář, Jan (referee) ; Halada, Jan (referee)
The objective of the present thesis entitled The creation of the Soviet union's ideal and its media image in the Czechoslovak media in 1950's is to show the effort of the major daily newspaper of that time - i.e. Rudé právo - to describe Soviet science. Creating a positive image of the Soviet Union through the presentation of scientific breakthroughs represents a significant way of building the ideal image of the USSR. More than fifty years later, it may be well analyzed which scientific fields were glorified by right, wherein the Soviet Union really excelled; and the rest, glorified only for propagandistic purposes. The theoretical part of this paper deals with the political situation in the USSR at the end of 40's and in the 50's as well as with the overall scientific environment during the same period. It characterizes the position of Rudé právo and describes the method of investigation. The paper however centers on the media analysis of ten separate time periods. The basic research method consists in historical and content- related analysis. The areas to be analyzed include the most important military research event of the decade under investigation - the successful test of the Soviet H-bomb, as well as the first successful use of nuclear energy for civilian purposes in the world - the startup...
Flood monitoring using satellite radar data for different land cover categories
Rauch, Tomáš ; Kolář, Jan (advisor) ; Brodský, Lukáš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to find method for flood monitoring from radar images. The thesis deals with flood in general and with organization of flood protection. There are described principles of radar sensors. There is also summary of satellites with their parameters. Next part of the thesis describes interaction between radar beam and different types of surface. Theoretical part is closed by overview of the existing methods for flood monitoring. In the practical part there is method for flood monitoring applied to areas affected by flood. The process is based on the classification of the radar image. Using classification and digital elevation model is drawn boundary of flooded area. The result boundaries are compared with the existing maximal flooded areas.
Early Baroque Altars in Prague
Kolář, Jan ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Horyna, Mojmír (referee)
ENGLISH ANNOTATION This paper discusses Prague altars that were crafted in the years of early-baroque between 1620 and 1680. It contains a brief outline of the historical period during which - in relation to counter-reformation and recatholization after the defeat of the Estate uprising in 1620 - baroque style had been fully accepted in Czech lands. The church, supported by the state, had made it its goal to restore catholicism in Czech lands and for this purpose it also used the means of arts. The baroque church combined all kinds of arts in its complexity. The main attention of its builders was paid to altar constructions, most often wooden ones. This paper then analyzes the history and typology of the altar and its components - the altar table, the retabulum (altar leg) and the tabernacle (sanctuary). The overall development of early-baroque altars dated from late-renaissaince mannerism to the beginning of top-baroque is discussed, together with the metamorphosis of the altars' architectural concepts, the artistic perfection of the altars and of their decorative elements. Both preserved and some non-preserved altar constructions located in Prague (in the area of Hradčany, Lesser Town, Old Town and New Town) are listed and described in this paper. Furthermore, an account is given of the artists...
The use of multimedia applications in the teaching of biology at the primary and secondary schools
Use of remote sensing data for snow water content determination
Špátová, Zuzana ; Spazierová, Kateřina (referee) ; Kolář, Jan (advisor)
Use of remote sensing for snow water content determination Abstract The aim of this diploma thesis is an integration of remote sensing to snow water equivalent measurement in Czech Republic conditions. The summary of present information of snow parameters retrieval is presented. For snow water equivalent obtaining, radar differential interferometry technique was chosen. The technique was carried out with seven ERS-2 radar images. The result of processing was finished after coherence images creation because of low coherence value at all interferometric pairs. The low coherence values did not enable next processing. Terms of the negative result are discussed. In the second part of the thesis, connection between snow characteristics and radar backscattering is searched. Dependence between snow moisture and backscattering is demonstrated. Factors, which impact values of backscattering and correlation with snow parameters, are discussed. In order to obtain snow water equivalent, the processing of remote sensed data was carried out for the first time in Czech Republic region. Therefore the negative result is still valuable information. Keywords: snow cover, snow water equivalent, remote sensing, radar interferometry
