The End of the Estate how you know it? Citizens' Involvement in Urban Planning in the Context of the Dispute over New Construction on the Ďáblice Housing Estate

The master's thesis focuses on citizen participation in urban planning in the Ďáblice housing estate in Prague. Within the context of the dispute over the development of the housing estate, the central focus is on the claims-making process and the argumentation used by local residents organized in the association Krásné Kobylisy. The main theoretical framework used is the concept of "the right to the city," and its practical application is examined in this work, and the theory "production of space". The issue is approached from the perspective of social constructivism, which enables the capture of the social reality of actors and their involvement in shaping the space of the housing estate. The empirical part is based on qualitative research, including interviews, document analysis, and participant observation. The aim was to reflect the claims and resistance of local residents against the development project.
