Evaluation of ESF funded interventions aimed at persons endangered by exclusion from the labour market

This thesis deals with the efficiency of the measures, which are implemented within the projects supported by the European Social Fund and are aimed at the endangered groups of parents (mostly women) on the labour market. The theoretical part introduces the concept of labour market segmentation, theory of human and social capital and finally outlines labour market policies within the framework of the EU and the Czech Republic. Empirical research uses techniques of interviews and a questionnaire in order to evaluate the implementation of the measures and targeting of the funds towards the needs of this specific group of women which is under a long term threat on the labour market. The contribution of this thesis is primarily in a detailed study on the efficiency of the system of subsidies in one part of the support from the ESF from the perspective of non-profit organizations. Regional development and inspiration from other disciplines possibilities of application of evolutionary biology concepts to the selected themes of regional development

Regionálnì rozvoj a inspirace z jiných disciplin: Možnosti aplikace konceptů evolučnì biologie na vybraná témata regionálnìho rozvoje 249 II.4CONCLUSION La thèse propose une tentative de recherche en s"inspirant de la biologie évolutionnaire pour la problématique du développement régional, et cela par l"intermédiaire des applications des concepts de la biologie évolutionnaire appropriés aux sujets sélectionnés de cette discipline. Les applications, du moins de quelques uns de ces concepts de la biologie évolutionnaire à la problématique de la réalité socioéconomique ne représentent cependant rien de nouveau même si elles se manifestent dans chaque discipline par un intense intérêt. Tandis que la perspective évolutionnaire de l"économie moderne se développe au cours des dix dernières années, la même inspiration pour la problématique de la géographie socioéconomique, ou plutôt du développement régional, est beaucoup plus récente. Le nombre de géographes sociaux qui se tournent avec intérêt vers l"économie évolutionnaire pourtnant augmente considérablement. Même s"il est pour l"instant prématuré de marquer la situation actuelle comme le glissement du paradigme, selon Boschma et Martin (2007), « evolutionary turn » devient de plus en plus important dans cette discipline et la géographie économique à orientation...

Are the Technology Platforms in Czechia a Suitable Instrument for Research, Development and Innovation Support?

This thesis deals with the technology platforms that bring together different types of actors in the same sector by supporting the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation. The aim was to use three case studies to assess the functioning of technology platforms and their benefits to its members. The thesis is mainly qualitative in nature. Research questions focus on the membership structure and activities of technology platforms, the importance of various types of proximity in cooperation with its members and the impact on their competitiveness. Thanks to the paper I found out the benefits of technology platforms to deepen relationships and mutual trust, which proved important for the mutual cooperation. Social and cognitive proximity are the two most important types of proximity in cooperation with actors. The thesis also revealed deficiencies in meeting the objectives of technology platforms consisting in the definition and implementation of the vision of the field. Negative finding is the absence of government among members of the technology platforms. Technology platforms are with their activities shaping the emergence and spread of knowledge and innovation for mutual cooperation among actors from different backgrounds.
