The Diploma thesis "The Illuminated Manuscripts of Jan IV of Dražice" is devoted to a set of illuminated manuscripts connected with a last bishop of Prague Jan IV of Dražice. After briefly summary and assesment of topical literature is in the next part of thesis appreciation of donation activities of Jan IV of Dražice. The emphasis is on his sojourn in Avignon and his donation activities in Prague and Roudnice nad Labem. Jan IV had an important influence to the development of illumination production in the Czech Countries. The goal of this diploma work is differentiation and monographic interpretation of manuscript's corpse connected with a figure of Jan IV of Dražice. Appreciation of donation activities of Jan IV z Dražic in cultural and historical time framework is mainly focused on explanation of his contribution to the development of illumination production in the Czech Countries. Work is mainly based on combination of methods of formal, iconographic and basic codicological analysis and where possible on iconological intepretation.

After possible dating of hereby mentioned manuscripts the thesis is devoted to the problem of development of significance for next expansion and growth of illumination in our countries and its historical context of its origin.
Desiccation as a structuring factor in desmid communities
Jirková, Kateřina ; Neustupa, Jiří (advisor) ; Kopalová, Kateřina (referee)
Desmids are an important part of the phytobenthos in the wetland ecosystems. These ecosystems are often ephemeral and changes in the hydrological regime is a typical characterisic of this habitat type. Dessication is a significant stress factor that affects water organisms. Different species differ in their extent of tolerance to dessication stress and it can affect their community structure and also their phylogenetic diversity. Two sites, the nature reserve Borkovická Blata and the nature locality Na Plachtě, were selected for this work. Ephemeral (seasonally dessicating) and permanent pools differed in the structure of desmid communities but the difference was signifacant only for Borkovická blata. At both localities, the samples from the dessicating pools showed in average lower species richness and Shannon's diversity index than samples from non-dessicating pools, but the differences between these groups of samples were not statistically significant. Phylogenetic analysis showed that the desmids community were phylogenetically overdispersed; closely related species tended to not appear together on the same sites at both localities. The difference in the phylogenetic structure between ephemeral and permanent was detected only in the Borkovická blata site, where the ephemeral pools exhibited weaker...
Motivation of the patrons of arts
Jirková, Kateřina ; Pauknerová, Daniela (advisor) ; Hanzlík, Jan (referee)

Interaction of arbuscular mycorrhiza and ectomycorrhiza
Jirková, Kateřina ; Janoušková, Martina (advisor) ; Kohout, Petr (referee)
Arbuscular mycorrhiza and ectomycorrhiza are two most common types of mycorrhizal symbiosis formed by different fungal groups. This bachelor thesis addresses their interactions, which can take place in dual hosts, plants that form both types of mycorrhiza simultaneously, at habitats where host plants of the two mycorrhizal types coexist. Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and ectomycorrhizal fungi can compete for the colonization of the roots of dual hosts and for nutrients resources in soil. Physiological and ecological differences between both fungal groups can affect the results of the competition, together with a range of factors, such as soil moisture, nutrient content, pollution and the identity of the host plant. Interaction of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and ectomycorrhizal fungi may affect the survival and growth of dual hosts and influence competition between different plant species.

Dental radiology
JIRKOVÁ, Kateřina
The topic of this bachelor thesis is ?Dental Radiology.? The aim of this thesis is to create a summary about dental diagnoses and evaluate the benefits of modern imaging methods in dentistry. The work is to familiarize students with conventional as well as modern methods and technologies in dentistry. Furthermore, to introduce different types of examinations and indications to given examinations which are done in the field. Radiation protection in dental radiological examinations is also described in this thesis. The radiology assistant may independently run the radiology department. In this thesis we find conditions needed for independent operation. The hypothesis of this thesis was formulated as follows: intraoral X-rays are still the most widespread group of examinations in the area of imaging technologies in dentistry. Information, which this thesis provides, especially concerning a number of intraoral and panoramic devices used in the Czech Republic in the years from 2002 to 2011. Data of the devices is supplemented with the number of dental CT devices which have been appearing in Czech dental surgeries since 2007. Figures of panoramatic, intraoral and extraoral performances are given further. The obtained individual data has been compared and for clarification put into charts in the ?Results? part. The obtained information is evaluated and views on the matter given in the ?Discussion? part. All the information regarding this matter is summarized at the end of this thesis. Objectives of the work have been met and the hypothesis confirmed. Contribution of the work in practice is clarification of dental diagnosis for radiology assistants, including information about frequency of devices and performances of given examinations in the Czech Republic. This thesis is supplemented with a tutorial CD which may serve as a learning tool for students in the field of Radiology assistants.
