Hydraulic efficiency of multi-chamber septic tanks based on mathematical modelling
Hradilová, Iva ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The submitted diploma thesis is focused on finding optimal inside arrangement of multi-chamber septic tank using the conductive method. The diploma thesis brings detailed description and measuring results, including the testing of several different arrangements of the standard circular three chamber septic tank in the project TAČR with the working title "Anasep" and newly developed four-chamber septic tank with several innovative features. The results are then categorized according to own terminology for ease application in the practice. The described method may be a suitable alternative for other technically and economically less available methods. The method shows very clearly whether the inner space of the septic tank sufficient use its volume to the velocity field distribution which has a direct impact on the rate of sedimentation of suspended solids and therefore affect the life of the downstream filtration equipment. Measured data processing and graphical outputs were processed in the programme Minitab. Graphical display of all variants of septic tanks was carried out using SketchUp. Visualization of a septic tank in 2D and 3D space plane was solved in COMSOL Multiphysic with the application of CFD module. The conclusion is based on achievements discussed the applicability of the described method and it presented hydraulically efficient multi-chamber septic tank, which is currently copyrighted solution, developed by a team of solvers in the project ANASEP.
Use of EIS method for determination of sedimentation in stady liquid
Hradilová, Iva ; Vachovec, Roman (referee) ; Špano, Miroslav (advisor)
Determination of interface between sediment and liquid belongs to common tasks in various fields of industry like sewage and/or water treatment. The aim of presented work is verification of suitability of electrical impedance spectrometry (EIS) method for determination of interface between soil and water. The suitability was verified on three samples of soil. The first one was a sand while other two were loam of different grain sizes. Introduction of both the EIS method and Z-meter III instrument used for measurements is presented in this work too. Within conclusions the suitability of the method and provability in determination of water-soil interface are discussed.
The Consequences of an Inappropriate Transfer of People with Paraplegia from the Viewpoint of Occupational Therapists with the Focus on the Shoulder Joint. Subtitle:The Appropriate Way of Transfer of People with Paraplegia
Šťastná, Klára ; Hradilová, Iva (advisor) ; Rybářová, Kateřina (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on consequences caused by the inappropriate transfer of a paraplegic from the viewpoint of occupational therapy. The work is focused on the pain of the shoulder girdle, mainly due to overloading during repeated everyday transfers of paraplegics. The theoretical part summarises the findings of the SCI and the spinal cord program. It also provides a description of the strategies of some transfers, together with their evaluation and inappropriate implementation. The theoretical part is widely devoted to the assessment of painful upper limbs and the consequences of an inappropriate transfer such as pain, impingement syndrome or a lost of self-sufficiency. The practical part is based on quantitative research and works with the research question: "What are the main factors influencing the pain in the shoulder of some paraplegics?". The aim of this study is to find whether transfers are one of the major causes of the pain in the shoulder. The other aim is to translate the assessment toll for the painful shoulder and to use it in achieving the first aim. The document required for this is called "The Wheelchair User's Shoulder Pain Index" and has not yet been translated into the Czech language. In order to avoid misunderstanding or the loss of any relevant cultural and...
Consequences due to Inappropriate Movement Stereotype on a Wheelchair Described by an Occupational Therapist. Subtitle: Used Propulsive Mechanics in Paraplegics
Jarošová, Zuzana ; Hradilová, Iva (advisor) ; Rodová, Zuzana (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on consequences of an inappropriate movement stereotype while driving on a mechanical wheelchair. The examined population of clients suffered from paraplegia. The analysis of propulsion mechanics is the main goal of the bachelor thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on causes involved in the inappropriate propulsion pattern. The main investigated causes can be consequences of spinal lesion and inappropriate choice or setting of the mechanical wheelchair components. In case of the spinal lesion, we are focused on the height of the lesion with regard to the posture and propulsion. When speaking about the setting the wheelchair components, we are mainly interested in the appropriate components selection and components adjustment, especially the seat and backrests, which most affect the seat on the wheelchair. Tests, that can be used to examine the presence of painful states of client, are included in the thesis. The thesis also contains the possibilities of intervention from the occupational therapist's point of view. The theoretical knowledge of propulsion mechanics is used in the practical part, where the analysis of propulsion patterns (with use of video records) as well as the tests of painful states were performed. The conclusion of the thesis...
Ergonomics of Home Environment for Patients after Spinal Cord Injury. Subtitle: Importance of Ergonomics and its Impact on Self-sufficiency of Patients
Veselková, Eliška ; Hradilová, Iva (advisor) ; Krulová, Anna (referee)
The thesis deals with ergonomics of home environment for patients after spinal cord injury. The main aim of the thesis is to highlight the importance of ergonomics and its impact on self-sufficiency of patients. It focuses especially on quadriplegic patients. The first theoretical part of the thesis summarizes general findings about spinal cord injury which are followed by characteristics of quadriplegic patients. The expert knowledge of ergonomics and occupational therapy shows their close interconnection linked with the issues of home environment of patients. The theoretical part is concluded by a list of requirements for wheelchair accessibility in home environment in accordance with Decree No. 398/2009 Coll. on general technical requirements to secure barrier-free usage of buildings. The second practical part of the thesis investigates the problem situations of three quadriplegic patients in detail. The main focus of the thesis is to examine the patients and their home environment. The tool Quadruplegia index of function was modified for this purpose to assess self-sufficiency and the methodology SEMAFOR home: Smart Evaluation Methodology of Accessibility FOR home was used to identify the problem areas of home environment of the patients. The results of the test methods were completed by the...
