AMIDOXIMES AS SYNTHETIC INTERMEDIATES AND POTENTIAL DRUGS I. Michaela Horká Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control In the theoretical part of this diploma thesis, biological activities of amidoximes are resumed. They have been studied mainly as prodrugs that are reduced to active compounds - amidines. Some amidoximes reached clinical trials but due to their significant undesirable effects have not been developed further. Methodical part deals with various synthetic procedures for the preparation of amidoximes. In the frame of the experimental part, four 5-alkylpyrazine-2-carbonitriles were synthesized at first. Using hydroxylamine hydrochloride, the nitriles were converted to corresponding amidoximes:  N'-hydroxy-5-propylpyrazine-2-carboximidamide  N'-hydroxy-5-isopropylpyrazine-2-carboximidamide  N'-hydroxy-5-pentylpyrazine-2-carboximidamide  N'-hydroxy-5-hexylpyrazine-2-carboximidamide None of the obtained products have been reported yet. They were characterized by melting points, IR, NMR spectra. Their purity was checked by elemental analysis. The compounds were tested for antifungal and antibacterial activity but were found non-effective. This is probably due to the fact that in vitro their bioactivation...
Position of low-threshold institution for children and youth in Child protection - options and limits
Horká, Michaela ; Pazlarová, Hana (advisor) ; Matoušek, Oldřich (referee)
The thesis focuses on the role of Low-threshold institutions for children and youth (NZDM) in the system of social- legal Child protection, their significance, possibilities and cooperation with other subjects, namely with Department of Social and Legal Protection for Children (OSPOD). The theoretical part defines what the social and legal protection for children is responsible for, how the cooperation between individual subjects work and what notification and information obligations are the subjects bound to fulfil. Attention is also paid to the tasks of OSPOD, NZDM and the role of entrusted persons in the system. The practical part is focused on three main topics. 1) Do the NZDMs have an authorisation to perform social and legal protection of children (and advantages and disadvantages associated with it)? 2) What is the role of NZDM in the system of Child protection (With what clients they work? How can NZDMs help their clients? And do they cooperate with other subjects)? 3) How does the cooperation with OSPOD works? The qualitative (interviews) as well as quantitative (questionnaires) methods have been used during the research.

The issue of prevention and early detection for patients with vertebrogenic syndrome in the cervical spine
HORKÁ, Michaela
This bachelor thesis deals with preventive measures and early detection of the vertebrogenic algic syndrome in the cervical spine. Vertebrogenic algic syndrome is a pain in different parts of the spine, which is one of the most common reasons for doctor visits. An alarming fact is that up to 80% of adults face these difficulties up and age of patients is constantly decreasing. Most common cause is poor posture, cervical spine injuries, mental health, degenerative changes, tumors and more. Part of this work is devoted to the prevention of vertebral problems. In these modern times, when the use of computers, laptops, tablets, became the ordinary matter, it is necessary to raise awareness of the basic ergonomic principles when using these devices, modifying work and home environment. The theoretical part is supposed to inform about the causes, mechanisms and physiotherapy practice in the treatment of vertebrogenic algic syndrome. It includes basic knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics of the cervical spine and preventive measures concerning the ergonomics of the working environment, sleeping position and appropriate sports activities. For the practical part of the thesis has been used qualitative research method. Qualitative research was done in the form of case studies of three persons. Each was subjected to an input and output kinesiology examination and history-taking in the form of a structured interview. The probands were interviewed regarding home and work ergonomics. The therapy lasted five weeks at the Health centre Medipont in České Budějovice. The task of the practical part was to use physiotherapy techniques to alleviate pain in a particular segments of the cervical spine and report about basic preventive measures. The result is the production of an educational booklet that contains exercises to stretch and release the cervical spine, basic ergonomic positions accompanied by photographs. This brochure will be available at the front desk at the Health centre Medipont in České Budějovice, in waiting rooms of general practitioners in Jemnice as a practical and synoptical helper in the fight against the problems in the cervical spine. This bachelor thesis could increase an awareness among general public about preventive measures and how to prevent pain in the cervical spine. Furthermore, it can be used by clinical practice physiotherapists in the treatment of vertebrogenic algic syndrome.
