The role of motor imagery in motor learning and the quality of movement performance
Hahn, Sarah ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Hlinovská, Jana (referee)
Introduction: The influence of imagination and emotions on our body has been talked about for several decades. The results of studies in the field of neuroscience confirm these assumptions. However, it is necessary to demonstrate their real clinical effectiveness in rehabilitation or physiotherapy. Objective: The aim of the study is to find out what role the idea of movement plays in learning new motor patterns. The effort is to find out to what extent and in which parameters the change occurred after a 14-day exercise cycle in individual cases. Methods: Medical students who were divided into three groups voluntarily participated in the randomized study. The 1st diagonal of the upper limb (1.D UL) from the Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) method was selected for the study. Volunteers in all groups exercised daily for 14 days. The first group (group image) practiced only in their imagination. The second group (group moto) exercised physically with an audio recording for the same amount of time. The third group (group mix) practiced the first week using their imagination and the second week by physical exercise. During the three days of the cycle, before and after the start of the 14-day exercise program, the volunteers completed input and output measurements. These measurements...

v Abstract Title: Case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient diagnosed with total knee arthroplasty Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to elaborate the theoretical knowledge on the diagnosis of total knee arthroplasty. Furthermore, to elaborate a case study of a patient with the given diagnosis and to evaluate the effect of used physiotherapeutic methods and procedures. Methods: The case study consists of the initial kinesiological analysis, ten therapies, oucome kinesiological analysis and short-term and long-term therapeutic plans. For the examination and therapies, procedures and methods are used within the scope of knowledge of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy of UK FTVS. All these procedures are non-invasive. At the end of the thesis, the results and effect of the therapies are evaluated and the use of each method and procedure is compared with the literature mentioned in the theoretical part of the thesis. Results: The result of the therapeutic intervention was an improvement in the patient's health condition, achieving full self-sufficiency and, above all, successful elimination of subjective difficulties. A detailed summary of the partial results can be found in the chapter Evaluation of the effect of physiotherapy care. Key words: total knee arthroplasty, alloplasty, gonarthrosis,...

Title: Case study of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with a diagnosis of subtrochanteric femur fracture Author: Benedikt Šorm Head of the thesis: Mgr. Jana Sohrová Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to elaborate theoretical and practical knowledge of the diagnosis of subtrochanteric femur fracture and to record the course of physiotherapeutic care of the patient with given diagnosis. Methods: The case report of physiotherapeutic care for a selected patient was processed during concurrent professional practice at the Faculty Thomayer Hospital at the Department of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation 3. LF UK and FTN. The internship took place from 9/1/2023 to 3/2/2023. To write the special part, an anamnesis was first taken, and an initial kinesiology examination was performed. Based on the examination, a short-term and long-term therapeutic plan was made. A total of 15 therapeutic units took place, during the first and last therapeutic units there was an initial and final kinesiology examination. After comparing the initial and final examinations, the effect of the therapy was evaluated. The general part is devoted to information and knowledge about the diagnosis of intertrochanteric fracture of the femur. Results: During the therapy, there was an overall improvement in the patient's...
The impact of complex rehabilitation program about upper limb function for people in subacute phase after stroke
Síla, Matěj ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Hlinovská, Jana (referee)
This bachelor's thesis verifies the impact of a three-week complex rehabilitation program about upper limb function and quality of life in patients in the subacute phase after a stroke. The resulting set consists of 32 patients hospitalized in the department of subsequent rehabilitation of the Clinic of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation of the 3rd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the University Thomayer Hospital. Gender was balanced at a ratio of 18 men and 14 women. The average age represents 78.13 years for patients. The evaluation of patients was based on the results of clinical trials. Patients were evaluated before and after a three-week rehabilitation program. National Institute of Health Stroke Scale tests and a modified Rankin scale were selected to evaluate the overall condition of stroke patients. Evaluation of upper limb motor function was assessed on the basis of results from the Nine Hole Peg Test, Action Research Arm Test, measurement of muscle strength with dynamometer and postural tremor accelerometer, limitation of upper limb function in everyday life with Motor Activity Log. The Item Short From Survey Instrument was chosen to evaluate quality of life. The assessment of the general condition produced a significant difference for both tests. The National Institute of...

Zervidis, Petros ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Hlinovská, Jana (referee)
Title: A case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after a pertrochanteric fracture of the left femur. Thesis aim: The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the effects of the physiotherapy treatment that was provided to a patient who suffered a pertrochanteric fracture of the left femur. The first part of the thesis is intended to provide theoretical knowledge of the anatomical, kinesiological, and aetiological background of the pertrochanteric fracture, while also discussing potential physiotherapeutic approaches. The second part of this thesis illustrates the practical physiotherapeutic approach to a patient who suffered a pertrochanteric fracture of the left femur. Clinical findings: This case study is evaluating the condition of an 85-year-old patient who underwent an osteosynthesis surgical procedure after experiencing a pertrochanteric fracture of the left femur. The assessment took place 4 days post-surgery and illustrated a significant limitation of ROM on the operated side along with several musculoskeletal defects. Methods: All the methods and procedures incorporated in this work were based on the literature suggested by Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. Result: After 11 sessions of physical therapy there was a notable improvement in the...
