In the shadow of the eagle, on the lion's chest and under the double silver cross: The life story of Anton Malinovský (1922-2011)

The subject and aim of this diploma thesis is to capture the life story of (Czech) Slovak soldier Anton Malinovský (1922-2011). The greatest emphasis will be placed on the period of his youth and military experience from the Slovak National Uprising, but the other phases of the life of Anton Malinovský will be also reflected. Anton Malinovsky, as a soldier of the Slovak army, participated in the Slovak National Uprising, from where he was captured and used as a forced labor in Bratislava. After the WW2, he became a professional soldier. He served in various departments in Slovakia or in the Infantry School in Milovice and from 1953 until his retirement he worked in the Military Training Center in Nové Město nad Váhom. The work will be chronologically ranging from birth to the death of Anton Malinovský in 2011. From a methodological point of view, the work will use methods of qualitative and historical research, from a typological point of view the concept of biography will be a science-historical life story with elements on the border of an artistic and scientific biography. The work also exploits the concept of sociological imagination.
