Environmentally Harmful Subsidies

This bachelor thesis attends to topical theme of environmetally harmful subsidies. On the beginning it will engage in common characteristics of the most important sorts of subsidies, that are direct to environment in Czech republic. In the following two methodics will be describe close to appreciation of relation subsidies to environment: Ministry of environment methodology and methodology OECD. The next practical part of work will illustrate an action of valuation upon chosen subsidy and with the help of SWOT and multicriterional analyse will determine, as this factual subvention affect environment. To analyse will be used a methodology examination of enviromental disutility subvention, published by Ministry of environment. The purpose of this work is identification with situation and progress in research area of environmental disutility subventions in Czech republic and the analyse of relation chosen subsidy to environment.

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou zpětného odběru elektrozařízení, jehož množství ve společnosti neustále narůstá a obsahuje mnoho nebezpečných látek pro ŽP a lidské zdraví. Nejprve je v práci zmiňována legislativa upravující oblast EEZ a současná situace nakládání s EEZ. Na základě novely zákona o odpadech vznikly kolektivní systémy zpětného odběru elektrozařízení, jejichž působení na různé oblasti a subjekty je věnována převažující část práce. Praktická část se zabývá analýzou nákladovosti a SWOT analýzou. Cílem práce je přiblížit přínosy a nedostatky v oblasti zpětného odběru elektrozařízení.

Exploiting of geothermal energy in ZOO in Ústí nad Labem

This thesis deals with alternative Energy sources. Firstly it describes their general properties, legislative framework and their use in the Czech Republic. In detail it describes use of geothermal energy and its exploitation in a large scale project put into practice in ZOO in Ústí nad Labem. The last part of the thesis focuses on success of the investment in economical terms.

Traffic Noise

My bachelor thesis focuses on the traffic noise problem. It describes basic informations about the noise and his consequences. Further there are described primary sound sources, noise-level test, health effects of the noise, noise maps etc. Sources of legal form are analyzed, which refer to the noise and private legal instruments for the noise protection are described. The thesis is firstly engaged in discussion of economic approaches to noise. The accent is placed on the neoclassical economy view on the noise, firstly on the market failure, secondly approaches to the traffic noise evaluation, is described. Various ethic approaches are discussed - Coase theorem, polluter pays principle and other principles.

Tepelné čerpadlo jako alternativní zdroj energie

Práce popisuje problematiku týkající se tepelného čerpadla jako alternativního a úspornějšího zařízení sloužícího k vytápění rodinných domů. Ukazuje techlologii a popisuje druhy tepelného čerpadla, využitelnost a šetrnost k životnímu prostředí. Součástí práce je i vývoj tohoto zdroje vytápění u nás a v Evropě. Práce poukazuje i na negativní stránky čerpadel a jejich nedostatky. Představeni jsou i konkrétní uživatelé čerpadel, jejich zkušenosti a spotřební hodnoty. Práce by měla napomoci v otázkách rozhodování potenciálních uživatelů při výběru zdroje vytápění.

The thesis is concentrated on the analysis of the decision - making process. Concretely in the case of building-up of R35 highway. The analysis describes landscape planing process, strategic environmental assessment process, environmental impact assessment process, planing inquiry and buliding control. I'm trying to find optimum alternate of building-up of the highway as a combination of economic,environmental,technological and social point of view.

Alternative fuels for transport

The thesis Alternative fuels for transport is dealing with the topic of economic competitiveness and environmental advantages of alternative fuels in comparison to classical oil fuels in transport. First, the main transport related problems are discussed in detail, including the dependency on oil, emissions from transport and their impact on human health and the environment. Then, the different types of alternative fuels are presented, including the legal framework, possibility of tax exemption and subsidy financing. The comparison of emissions of alternative and classical fuels follows the logic of the whole life cycle of a fuel, using the Well-to-Wheel analysis as method. Emissions of greenhouse gases and emissions of pollutants of local importance are observed. The cost comparison is based on experience in public bus transport in the Czech Republic. Fixed, variable and total costs are compared for classical diesel, biodiesel, natural gas, LPG, hydrogen and an electric vehicle. The purpose of the study is to decide which of the alternative fuels represents a cost competitive option in comparison to classical diesel and also provides a reduction in total emissions. The results of the study are designed to help Krkonošské Metro Association to choose a suitable alternative fuel for a project in rail transport.

Efficiency in the use of photovoltaic cells for energy production

Master's Thesis considers the idea of use of renewable energy sources for the generation of electricity. On the basis of reports on climate warming, the European Union took measures, which are mandatory for all Member States and aimed to increase the share of renewable energy in total energy production by 2010. Czech Republic has committed itself to produce 8% of energy from renewable energy sources, the government has created a system of subsidies to renewable energy sources and a system of redemption prices. These measures make energy very expensive. This work deals with the origin of these measures, which are reports on global warming. My work is also comparing predictions on the future status, as well as examining the advantages of investing in renewable energy sources and comparing the prices of subsidized energy with other types of energy.
