The occupation of Louny area in the La Tene period (evaluation and grounds for new research)

The thesis focuses on reviewing the excavations from Počedělice between the years 1988-1989, during which two settlement objects from the break of the La Tene period and the Early Roman period (LT D2b/ R A) were identified. Tangible and intangible finds were further analysed and evaluated, such as ground sunken homes, ceramic fragments, daubings, osteological package, a furnace and an iron object. The second part of the thesis focuses on structure of the settlements and the burials in the eastern part of Louny area. It also outlines the current state of research and the basis for the future research. The second part also presents a created catalogue of sites dated in the break of the La Tene period and the Early Roman period in the discussed region.

Presented Bachelor diploma work is devoted to elaboration and evaluation of La Téne burial ground in Zeměchy near Kralupy nad Vltavou, which was excavated during archaeological rescue research in 2007. The purpose of work is study particular aspects of funeral rite in this burial ground and then it will be interpreted by using analogies. Economy in the La-T`ene Period

The object of this thesis is a component of the extensive issue of the economy of La-Tène period, namely the problem regarding the nourishment of oppida. In a domestic research, this issue tends to be a part of most economic models created for the La-Tène period. Two main dissimilar approaches are being used, and researchers achieve distinctively heterogenous results. This distinct difference is one of the main subjects of the thesis. The goal of this thesis is not to create a new economical model or to solve the questions concerning the nourishment of oppida. The goal is a comparison and analysis of the approaches, that were presented in current economic models. I will test the approaches from the aspect of an exchange relations, including the usege of new findings about exchange, that were made in the fields of other humanities. Gold in late iron age in Bohemia

This bachelor's thesis deals with the gold in the late Iron Age. The aim is a comprehensive description and summarization of current natural scientific and archaeological knowledge of mining, processing and use of the gold in the late Iron Age, with emphasis on the Czech territory. The work consists of three parts. The first part focuses on the geology of gold. The second part is devoted to mining archeology, and the third relates to gold in the context of the late Iron Age in Bohemia. In conclusion, there are proposed areas that need attention if we look for the direct evidence of precious metal mining in the late Iron Age. An important part of this work is to inform the Czech professionals with the not well kown but more unique achievements of French archeology in proving mining gold in a similar environment and cultural terms and time frame. Dynamics of the settlement pattern in the microregion of Zarabag (southern Uzbekistan) on the basis of archaeological sources

15 Abstract The following thesis summarizes results of the archaeological research in the microregion of the Zarabag Oasis in the South Uzbekistan. The non-destructive research focused on the collection and evaluation of the archaeological data that allow to reconstruct the settlement dynamics in the oasis during the ages. Previously, there was not archaeological evidence available in the region. The fieldwork in the oasis and its closest surroundings was conducted by way of extensive surface survey (global coverage of the oasis focused on the detection of archaeological evidence), and intensive one (systematic surface survey on a closely defined area). The extensive survey proved to be more suitable for the studied environment in terms of the quality and quantity of the collected archaeological data. One part of the survey consisted in detection of the water sources (springs, surface canals and even remains of the karez systems). The basic units of extensive survey were represented by polygons (gardens, fields, cemeteries, tepas etc.), to which the finds collected during the research were attributed. Their dating in the combination with their spatial distribution allowed then to reconstruct the settlement processes and dynamics in the microregion of the oasis. Settlement in Hallstatt Period in the region České Budějovice

This bachelor thesis studies the Hallstatt settlement of the Southern tip of České Budějovice Basin and the adjacent slightly rolling landscape located in the foothills of the Blanský Forest and the Strážkovice Area. The thesis presents the microregion within the South Bohemian context while also emphasizing its links with remoter areas (other areas in Bohemia, Bavaria, in the Mediterranean and in the Baltic region). Furthermore, it is dedicated to a more in-depth description and - up to a point - to the interpretation of the significance of settlements, sporadic archeological finds, surface collecting and tumulus burial grounds. A central role is played by the settlement in Planá, where an above-ground wooden stake construction dating from the Hallstatt period has been discovered. Part of the thesis is also a treatment of material collected during a field research conducted in Planá settlement in 2011.
