BASEL III - leveraga ratio

The purpose of this bachelor thesis Basel III Leverage Ratio is to describe the development of regulatory concepts published by Basil authorities especially the Basel III Leverage Ratio concept. This concept was realized in reaction to the financial crisis in 2008, when many defects of the previous concept were discovered. Innovation were made, including adjustments to capital adequacy, capital buffers, leverage ratio, liquidity and others. This thesis focuses on the leverage ratio indicator. The main goal of the paper is to describe this component, its implementation and evaluate expected fallouts or outcomes. The last part of this thesis sums up the situation in Czech Republic and the opinion of Czech National Bank on the Basil III implementation.
Education under the roof of the European Union

This thesis is a response to current education reform in the Czech Republic. EU objective and their long-term goals will be defined in the introduction. The main objective of the thesis is comparison of two different educational systems, both of which are under control of the European Union. There are two countries selected for this paper, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. Not only the educational systems, but also the method of financing is compared. The Czech educational system is entirely dependent on public funding for their educational system, while in Netherlands a significant part of the finances going to the educational system is covered by students themselves. Besides other things current issues in educational sector, which are faced by selected countries, will be discussed in the thesis as well. Two private schools were chosen for comparison to illustrate the situation of private education in the Czech Republic, University of Finances and Administration and The European Polytechnic Institute in Kunovice.
The life insurance development in Czech Republic

The thesis deals with life insurance market in Czech Republic, its trends and importance. In the first place it defines life insurance and its importance for individuals and whole community. It looks at possible ways how to sign an insurance contract and particularly it explores a work of insurance brokers and deals with the actual questions of the brokerage distribution of insurance. Furthermore, it examines the life insurance market trends since 1990s, it compares it with the trends in European union and sums up the sources of results. Finally, it shows the importance of life insurance for Czech citizens based on questionnaire and predicts future trends of life insurance market in Czech Republic.
Analysis of consumer loans in terms of APR with focus on microcredit

The thesis is focused on consumer loans either from a regulatory standpoint including comparison of two legislative resources and from practical view focusing on real-life examples from Czech banking and non-bank providers. The main focus of analysis is to determine the impact of credit parameters on the APRC. Considerable portion of the thesis is dedicated to a specific area of consumer loans, microcredits. Even here the primary aim is the regulation of microcredits, the providers participating in the administration of microcredits and the calculation of the impact of principal, maturity and costs of credit on the APRC.
Analysis of capital adequacy development of banks in Czech republic

The main focus of this thesis is the analysis of channels used by Czech banks to increase their capital ratios. We identify the increase in capital as the main channel used. Further, within these channels we find retained earnings to be the main tool used. In addition, growth in the loans volume was the dominant tool within the channel of asset volume. Furthermore, we observe an increase in the use of more advanced capital requirements quantification methods, especially in larger banks. We also identify several factors, other than capital regulation, that might have contributed to the observed developments.
Fundamental analysis of the company O2 Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis is focused on theoretical familiarization with fundamental analysis and its practical implementation on shares of O2 Czech Republic company. The aim is to determine intrinsic value of O2 shares and to suggest investment recommendation. First in the global analysis I examined in the dependence of macroeconomic factors and the market price of shares with their long-term development. With the sector analysis I characterized telecommunications sector by its market structure or regulations. In the fundamental analysis of the company I focused on models used for determining the intristic value of the shares and I calculated the intrinsic value, which I then compared with the current market price of the share. At the end I mentioned the split of the O2 Czech Republic company, which happened in 2015, and I compared selected indicators before and after the split.
Financial literacy and financial history of Czech households

The author of this bachelor's thesis deals with the phenomenon of the present that is topic of financial literacy. The subject of this thesis is to create a reliable and sufficiently understandable manual, which actions should a financially literate individual, who is responsible for financial situation of his family, take. Author's intention is also to applicate gained knowledge on a model of fictional average Czech household, in real conditions, though, and therefore confirm usability of his own work. The result is going to be a product, which will pass on advice, how to take care of own financial situation, and will show or rationalize everything on a specific and detailed example.
Financial products with state support

The thesis deals with financial products, which the state supports, whether by the state concessions or tax contributions restricts or even specifies the exact amount of the interest rate on a loan supporting the acquisition of own housing. The thesis is focus on the stimulus, which state uses. How citizens use the aid they receive from the state. The development of these incentives in the past, and an easy overview of what remains for the changes planned. In the practical part is shown, what brings financial products with support to households and what is the impact on their family budget. In a brief overview is included, as people use different products in recent years.
Analysis of interest rate swaps after the financial crisis

The goal of this master thesis is to analyze main changes affecting interest rate swaps in the Czech republic, which took place since 2007, in areas of regulation, valuation of interest rate swaps and negative interest rates. The first part defines derivative and describes sort of derivatives and type of swaps. The second part deals with interest rate swaps, pricing and valuation, and contractual documentation. The third part explains the impact of regulation MiFID I, EMIR and MiFID II on interest rate swaps. The fourth part analyzes changes in interest rate swaps valuation and negative interest rates issues.
Insurance fraud on the Czech insurance market

The thesis deals with insurance fraud on the Czech insurance market. The introductory section describes the actual state of the insurance market. Insurance fraud is presented in terms of legislation, their species and the general alarming indicators. The next section deals with internal fraud and depictures a brief profile of the typical internal fraudster, indicators of their suspicious behavior and ways of prevention. The following chapter describes the external fraud in the life and non-life insurance, and is supplemented by a separate chapter describing organized fraud. The following part is devoted to statistics of insurance fraud, both from the perspective of the Czech Republic as well as some European countries. The final section describes several fraud detection methods used by insurance companies. Finally, the author proposes certain ways of improving the efficiency of the fight against this crime.
