Research of the effect of desicants on moisture adsorption
Němec, Mojmír ; Lisá, Hana (referee) ; Elbl, Patrik (advisor)
Desiccants are special materials that can effectively adsorb moisture from the surrounding air or space. Desiccants such as silica gel or molecular sieve are often used in laboratory applications, for example to determine the properties of solid fuels. The introduction of the research section is devoted to the description of these properties. The thesis then describes the methods used to accurately determine the moisture in solid fuels. The main part of the thesis is devoted to desiccators together with desiccants, which form a significant part in the process of determining moisture in solid fuels. The experimental part deals with the investi-gation of the effect of different desiccants on the rate of air moisture depletion in the desic-cator under laboratory conditions. The moisture loss in the desiccator is measured using the SHT4x Smart Gadget, which is placed in the desiccator together with the desiccant. The out-put of the experimental measurements are the moisture uptake rate curves of different desic-cants for desiccant weights of 50 g, 100 g, 150 g, 200 g and 250 g. At the end of the thesis, the measured curves of the different desiccants are compared with each other in terms of efficiency.
Heating Technologies for Household Heating
Krakovič, Vojtěch ; Elbl, Patrik (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis presents and compares the current options for heating family houses. The first part introduces the available heating technologies and types of fuels, explains the principle of their operation, shows the advantages and disadvantages, and for which type of building each type is suitable. It will gradually introduce heating with solid fuels, gas and electricity, and continue to heat pumps and methods of obtaining solar energy. The second part introduces a model house for which a suitable heating method is being sought. Heat losses and annual heat demand are calculated. After a short discussion of suitable alternatives, two suitable options are chosen, for which the approximate initial and operating costs, as well as payback periods, are calculated. The following is a comparison and evaluation, after which we will find out the most economically suitable heating method for the model house.
Analysis of Heating Systems for Family House
Holubka, Oleksandr ; Elbl, Patrik (referee) ; Lisý, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is the assessment of options and innovations when it comes to heating of family houses. These options are then compared. In the last part of this thesis, the gathered insight is used for a technical and economical evaluation and subsequent proposal of a heating system of the model house.
Heating options of a house
Klíma, Petr ; Elbl, Patrik (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
The bachalor‘s thesis, dealing with the possibilities of heating a family house is devided into three parts. The first part presents heat sources for houses and fuels that are used for heating. In the second part, the heat losses of already specifically selected house and the annual energy demand for heating are calculated. The third part deals with the economic evaluation of specific heat sources.
Enrichment and reprocessing of nuclear fuel
Janoušek, Petr ; Elbl, Patrik (referee) ; Sitek, Tomáš (advisor)
Nuclear fuel is one form of electricity generation. This bachelor thesis deals with its modification and processing as this fuel has to undergo special processes to ensure its good usability. The aim of the thesis is to list and analyze the main processes involved in the production of nuclear fuel. The thesis is, in particular, focused on the enrichment of nuclear fuel, which is the process of enhancing its properties. The first and second chapter of the paper discusses basic issues of first nuclear energy and then nuclear fuel. The third chapter of the thesis explains in detail the enrichment of nuclear fuel and also describes different methods of enrichment. Another process taking place after nuclear fuel is used is it's reprocessing. This method of converting used fuel into fuel that can be reused is dealt with in the last chapter of the thesis.
Hydrothermal Conversion of Biomass
Vařejka, Tomáš ; Elbl, Patrik (referee) ; Lachman, Jakub (advisor)
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to search for hydrothermal technologies for biomass conversion to improved energy carriers. First part includes contains introduction to biomass conversion methods and its suitability for different types of feedstock. The following part is dedicated mainly to hydrothermal conversion processes, their history, development over time, used technology, process and product characteristics and comparison with conventional thermochemical methods. Finally, the current state of technology is evaluated, possible future developments are outlined and current problems which are preventing wider application of this technology are descried.
Fast pyrolysis reactors
Fencl, Jonáš ; Lachman, Jakub (referee) ; Elbl, Patrik (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is a description of a fast pyrolysis process, its products and technologies based on the principle of fast pyrolysis using biomass as a fuel. In the first part of the thesis biomass and its energetical usage is described. The second part focuses on a charachteristics and history of pyrolysis. The third part describes fast pyrolysis process, convertion to bio-oil and important process parameters to obtain maximum liquid yield. Furthermore, single components obtained from the fast pyrolysis process and their usage is described. The fourth part describes types of fast pyrolysis reactors, their advantages and disadvantages. At last, the largest pyrolysis units operating in practice are described.
Off-grid homes
Plhal, Matěj ; Elbl, Patrik (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the principle of off-grid houses. It focuses on technological solutions of high-quality housing even without connection to public utilities. Primarily, it depicts suitable energy sources, heating options and water management. The practical part of thesis deals with the energy design of an off-grid home.
Design of a heating system for a family house
Rudišin, Lukáš ; Lachman, Jakub (referee) ; Elbl, Patrik (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the design of an ideal heating system for a selected object. The individual chapters theoretically analyze the used heating technologies, describe the building and its currently used heating system, propose alternative systems and evaluate them economically.
Energy mix development in the Czech Republic
Špaček, Michal ; Sitek, Tomáš (referee) ; Elbl, Patrik (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is the development of the energy mix of the Czech Republic. The first part is focused on concepts energy mix, energy security and the goals and priorities of state energy policy. Next part describes the development of the Czech energy mix up to present and in this part, the possible future development of the energy mix of the Czech Republic is described as well. In the last part, the energy mix of the Czech Republic is compared to the energy mixes of Slovakia, Poland, Germany and Denmark and the future development of these energy mixes is predicted as well.
