Chronicals of the town of Přeštice in mutual comparison

Goal of this thesis was to study municipal, parish and school chronicles of the town of Přeštice, including their authors. The thesis is divided into four main chapters. In the first chapter, the history of the town of Přeštice is briefly outlined. The development of the town administration, parish and local schools is emphasized. The following chapter discusses the development of Czech chronicle writting. It also describes laws, standards and regulations that formed the management of chronicles and their content. The third chapter devotes to history of the chronicle writting of the town of Přeštice. It introduces each chronicle, all its authors and describes the form of its records. Subsequently, a comparison of the chronicles in time periods between the years 1831-1840 and 1867-1993 is done, including the analysis of their thematical intersections. In the conclusion, all of the findings are summarized and the directions of the future research are indicated. As a supplementary material, full text of all the laws, standards and regulations described in the second chapter, tables with an overview of all the described chronicles, photos of the chronicles and chroniclers are included.

Influence of Religion on the Family Background

The thesis Influence of religion on the family background primarily with the practical implications of three basic beliefs of world religions - Jewish, Christian and Muslim - to a normal family life. Studying the various traditions and customs, practicing belief in everyday life and influence of a particular religion for the whole family. The theoretical part is focused on the requirements of that particular religion has on believers. The practical part describes the general way of life of Jews, Christians and Muslims, describes the specific application of faith in daily life. The research part of the thesis evaluates the questionnaires focused on the differences of attitudes, values and family life of Jews, Christians, Muslims and people with no religion.

Character of Claudine in comparison with other characters in Colette's work

This Bachelor Thesis aims to compare the character of Claudine with later characters of Colette's work. Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette is one of the most important literary figures of the first half of the twentieth century, and although she is not the usual subject of studies in the Czech Republic, in her country of origin, she still has many supporters. The first part of this work puts briefly Colette into the context of contemporary women's literature, and pursue her biography with an emphasis on people and circumstances that influenced her life and work. The second part of the work progressively analyses and compares selected literature characters and also identifies Colette's autobiographical projections. In conclusion this work creates a global comparison and defines the nature of those projections.

Death marches in the region of Přeštice in 1945

The thesis describes death marches that went through the city of Přeštice in the Pilsen region in 1945. The emphasis is on reactions of local people to a direct confrontation to the horrors of the Second World War. The thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is about location of city of Přeštice. The second chapter generally describes the topic of death marches and death transports, especially the reasons that led to forced transfers of prisoners. In the second half of the chapter it is explained why in the end of the Second World War the majority of death marches went through the territory of Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. Some cases of solidarity or hatred from local people to the prisoners are shown. The next chapter lists resources which were used in this thesis. The first section of the chapter is dedicated to chronicles from the city of Přeštice and nearby towns. The history, structure and all authors are presented for each chronicle. The next section is about witnesses of death marches that were interviewed - Petr Blažek and Jiří Běl. The last section describes a questionnaire construction that was held in 1946 and its goal was to gather the evidence and map all the deatch marches and transports that went through the czech territory. In the fourth chapter, all the usefull data gathered from used resources are listed and all the places where the resources agree and disagree are outlined. In the end of the thesis, results are concluded and the directions of future research are indicated. The literal transcriptions of interviews, report from the SNB Přeštice, which was a result of the questionnaire construction mentioned above, and maps are also included.
