Preparation and study of clinker minerals
Khongová, Ingrid ; Všianský,, Dalibor (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with laboratory preparation of the main clinker mineral - alit. The theoretical part summarizes the existing knowledge and the practical part deals with the methodology of preparation of the alite. The main goal was to prepare and study the monoclinic phases of alite, another goal was to optimize the triclinic alite.
The Effect of Humidity and Temperature on Stability of AFt phases
Janíčková, Zdeňka ; Dvořák, Karel (referee) ; Fridrichová, Marcela (advisor)
This thesis focused on the development of AFt phases such as ettringite and thaumasite, which is monitored in temperature and humidity environments. Depending on these factors is stability od the AFt phase and subsequent evaluation by X-ray diffraction analysis, DTA and REM monitored.
Effects of the different grinding technology and of mechanical activation on the properties of hydraulic binders
Hladík, Václav ; Dočkal, Jakub (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
This diploma thesis mainly tracks the effect of grinding technology on the final properties of portland cement and selected pozzolanic materials. For grinding of portland cement, was also observed the effect of storage time on the final mechanical properties and hydratation process. Pozzolan activity of selected materials was monitored by evaluation of the reaction with CaO by differential thermal analysis.
Preparation of high performance sulphate binder by nonpressure method
Urban, Karel ; Novák, Jan (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
Institut of Technology building materials and components in FAST VUT Brno is for several years engageding by research of unpressurized production of high sulphate binders and also by developing a dehydrating apparatus. This work follows on this research. The main aim of this work is to prepare the alpha calcium sulfate hemihydrate by method of dehydration in the various solutions the chloride salts of the same molal concentration in an innovative dehydration apparatus. Another aim is monitoring the influence dehydrating solutions on the basis of KCl, NaCl and CaCl2 on the properities of made gypsum.
Study of the limestone decarbonation process
Koporcová, Diana Mária ; Všianský,, Dalibor (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with a research and a description of decarbonation process of limestone during the lime burning. The goal of the bachelor thesis is to try to find a connection between characteristics of input material and course of the decarbonation process, which is monitored by high temperature XRD analysis. There is an evaluation of the microstructure of emerging calcium oxide, especially by the size of the crystallites, in the experimental part.
Alpha gypsum production by non pressure method in chloride salt solutions
Moldrzyk, Jan ; Gazdič,, Dominik (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
The work is focused on tht preparation of alpha hemihydrate calsium sulphate non pressure method of dehydration of gypsum in solutions of chloride salts. It deals with the verification methods developer for processing various types of available gypsum, particularly gypsum waste from the chemici industry. The resulting product is always assessed in terms of mineralogical, chemical and technological.
Metabolic effects of bile lipids
Žížalová, Kateřina ; Leníček, Martin (advisor) ; Jirsa, Milan (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (referee)
Bile acids act as important fat emulsifiers in the human body. However, it is increasingly becoming apparent that they also play a role as important signalling molecules. Bile acids are a relatively heterogeneous group differing also in their metabolic effects. Their individual proportion in the body is highly variable and strongly influenced by the composition of the microbiome. The importance of individual bile acids is not yet well enough described to be fully exploited in clinical practice. For this reason, the determination of bile acids by enzymatic methods seems to be considered sufficient in most departments. Another and more reliable option is the increasingly widespread use of liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The aim of my work was to test the reliability of the enzymatic method and to introduce a method for the determination of bile acids, including the measurement of such atypical ones for example microbial conjugates and keto- and isoderivatives. Moreover, I aimed to test sample preparation for the measurement of 7α-hydroxy-4-cholesten-3-one, the bile acid biosynthesis marker. We used these methods to investigate the changes in bile acid composition changes in iron overload rats. In this rat model of genetically determined disorders of iron metabolism, bile...
Healthy lifestyle parameters assessment in patients with type 2 diabetes mallitus and fatty liver
Halámková, Veronika ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor) ; Šmíd, Václav (referee)
This bachelor thesis assessed several parameters of healthy lifestyle and potential liver steatosis presence in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2. In the first part there are descriptions of liver, pancreas, diabetes mellitus type 2, metabolic syndrome, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Further there is a characterisation of Mediterranean diet with its main features and health effects. Practical part is dealing with a questionnaire survey in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 referred to abdominal ultrasound examination. There were 19 questions focused on healthy lifestyle (consummation of vegetables, fruits, fish, use of olive oil, drinking tea or coffee, eating of sweets, and drinking of alcohol) and questions assessing knowledge of the Mediterranean diet, physical activity, duration of diabetes, family history of diseases of affluence and hepatoprotective medication use. Age, gender and basic anthropometric data and result of sonographic examination for presence of liver steatosis were recorded. A total of 92 patients (71 men / 21 women) average age 65 years. Liver steatosis was diagnosed in 88% of patients. Knowledge of the Mediterranean diet was low (20% of respondents). Healthy lifestyle adherence was according to provided answers also unsatisfactory, despite the fact,...
Study of Parameters of Preparation and Stabilization of Belite
Kohutová, Alice ; Dvořák, Karel (referee) ; Gazdič, Dominik (advisor)
The presented bachelor thesis is focused on monitoring the behavior of the mineral belite at high temperatures. The theoretical part deals with the study theories regarding the preparation and stabilization of C2S and its use in low-energy cements. The practical part is processed in the form of research of scientific articles dealing with the above mentioned topic and the results achieved at FAST BUT, THD. Based on previous research, there is introduced design and optimization of the methodology of preparation of polymorph ß-C2S, followed by analysis of its purity and stability. Part of the thesis is HT-XRD analysis, which allows monitoring of transformations during the burning of belite clinker in a high temperature chamber.
Preparation and study of Alite
Jančíků, Andrea ; Gazdič, Dominik (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the preparation of the main clinker mineral tricalciumsilicate (Alitu-C3S), mostly theoretically and partially practically. The theoretical part summarizes the main findings of recent years of research of polymorphic phases of this mineral. The practical part is devoted to the preparation of polymorphic phase of M1 alite. The main objective was to prepare the monoclinic phase of M1 and analyze their properties by available analytical methods.
