The economic policy of the Czech Republic in the background of the political cycle

The aim of the thesis "The economic policy of the Czech Republic in the background of the political cycle" is to analyze whether the size of the state budget and revenue and expenditure is influenced by the political cycle or not. The main goal of this work is to find out whether the size of the state budget and its individual parts are affected by the political cycle and at the same time also make assessment of that whether the current political cycle is manifested in the selected macroeconomic variables or not. Next, I will analyze the evolution of the unemployment and inflation rates and then determine whether the individual variables are affected because of the ongoing political cycles or their development would have been comparable, if there would not be the functioning of the political cycle. The thesis will be taken into account the conclusions and outcomes of the theory that areas are involved in the political cycle. The aim of this work will be to confirm or refute the hypothesis political cycle in the Czech Republic and to find out whether there is a growing state budget deficits particular pre-election and election year, extensive easing of fiscal policy and whether budget deficits are a natural result of the struggle for votes between political parties or not. The Czech Republic pension system - developments after 1989 and its reform

The present thesis focuses on the analysis of the Czech pension system reform. In order to understand the respective consequences, the analysis is put into the context of the development of the Czech pension system after 1989. In addition to the value aspect, attention is paid to the demographic, legislative, political, economic, social, institutional and international aspects of the pension system, its arrangement, financing and financial sustainability. The comparison of the pension reform implemented by the coalition government of Prime Minister Petr Nečas with the concept of pension reform of the opposition Czech Social Democratic Party by the criteria of budgetary responsibility, quality of life of pensioners, solidarity, social justice, equivalence and resilience of pension reform in time is also emphasised. Theoretical bases include the theory of path dependency, the theory of institutionalism, the welfare state theory, the theory of corporatism and the criterion anchoring of the reform. The present thesis applies the method of analysis of secondary data and the method of comparative analysis. To obtain secondary data, methods of document and data record searching are utilised.
Work-family balance as a problem of social policy

The submitted text represents updated and extended version of my MA thesis "Work-Family balance: Solving Dilemma". The main objective of this paper is to present the results of empirical research and analyses of causes and consequences which affect and disturb straight-through connection between work (e.g. paid job) and family responsibilities (especially childcare). In the theoretical part of this paper was used a theory of the welfare state, the equal opportunity theory (especially between men and women) and the concept of human potential. Culture and gender stereotypes are probably the most considerable causes of difficult reconciling work and family duties. Some of the EU member states altogether with the Czech Republic are still keeping so-called breadwinner model, which maintain traditional status between women and men in the society. According to this model women are mainly responsible for childbearing, childcare and household keeping while men should care about economical aspect of family life. An analysis has shown close-knit connection between type of welfare state, welfare state policies and relevant implications on the field of work-family balance and quality of life. Work-Family Balance: Solving Dilemma

This MA theses primary focuses on cause consequence analysis of work-family balance. The next point of this paper is comparative analysis of key figures regarding this conflict in the course of Czech Republic and selected country of European Union. Main method used in the thesis is secondary data analysis, analysis of the relevant laws and other. Next method used in this paper is comparative analysis of family policies in the context of member states of Europe Union. MA thesis goes out from Welfare State theory, equality theory and the concept of human potential. In this MA thesis is analyzed basic determinants of the work-family conflict, its consequences and last but not least reforms of social policy that is feasible for the Czech Republic.
