Cell detection using convolutional neural networks
Doskočil, Ondřej ; Chmelík, Jiří (referee) ; Vičar, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the use of convolutional neural networks for cell detection in image data. The theoretical part contains a description of the functioning of these networks and their various architectures. In the practical part, these networks were implemented and trained on an available dataset. However, each of these networks uses a different approach to detection. Finally, the individual networks were statistically evaluated and a discussion was conducted.
Registration of retinal images using deep learning
State strategic communication and disinformation - comparative study of the Czech republic and the Republic of Estonia
Doskočil, Ondřej ; Hejlová, Denisa (advisor) ; Vranka, Marek (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to through interviews with selected experts from both countries - the Czech Republic and Estonian Republic - find lessons and/or best practices in the areas of disinformation and strategic communication applicable to the Czech and Estonian state. I will gradually try to answer several substantive questions. How do selected experts perceive the resilience of the Czech Republic and Estonian Republic against disinformation? What specific methods do both countries use in combating disinformation? Do they have practical or theoretical knowledge and skills that can benefit the other country?
The role of laypersons in the ethics committee for assessment of clinical research in the Czech Republic
Kašková, Petra ; Doskočil, Ondřej (advisor) ; Šimek, Jiří (referee)
The clinical research is an indispensable part of the progress in medicine, therapy, but also in diagnosis. It is really necessary to realize the complexity of the ethical issues to explore the unknown on a human body. When ethically considerating it is necessary to come from the respect and protection of the dignity and human rights who take part in the clinical trials and these interests should always prioritize over the scientific and social interests. A crucial role in the clinical research regulation has the ethics committee. Members of the ethics committees shall have some professional behaviour, some experience and moral credit to be able to review clinical trials. Just members of the ethics committes can answer the queries regarding the mission and the purpose of the ethics committees work at all. Ethics committees have different representation in different countries. Ethics committees in the Czech Republic are composed of the experts - doctors and the laypersons, so lay people representing especially patients. In the theoretical section we present the history of the clinical research and impact of the research ethics committee. We present informed consent as a key document for patients entering the clinical trials. We also describe the activities and legislation of the ethics committee and...
Patients'Recruitment Issues in Clinical Trials
Hrubá, Dagmar ; Doskočil, Ondřej (advisor) ; Štegmannová, Ingrid (referee)
This thesis examines patient recruitment in clinical trials. It is a current and pressing issue, which is not sufficiently embedded in the thinking of doctors and patients, their patterns of communication, and more broadly in the traditional doctor-patient relationship, which continues to be burdened by post-socialist paternalism. The formal framework and ethics have been developed relatively recently, and their application causes confusion to all participants regarding how to proceed in specific situations. In addition, the choice of topic, and especially the form of dealing with the topic, was motivated by the relative lack of academic resources and publications in the field. The theoretical section of the thesis defines clinical research and its phases, and introduces basic terminology and documents closely linked to clinical research. In addition, it focuses on research ethics, thoroughly examining the issue of informed consent - a fundamental document necessary for recruiting a patient in a clinical trial. Finally, one chapter of the thesis focuses on the issue of medical literacy, the level of which is integral to the participants' understanding of the importance of clinical research, and directly affects participants' decision-making. The empirical section is divided into two parts. The...
Comparsion of marketing activities of beer producers on the Czech market in digital environment
Doskočil, Ondřej ; Halada, Jan (advisor) ; Koudelková, Petra (referee)
Bachelor thesis aims to clearly outline online marketing activities of selected regional microbreweries located in the city of Prague or close by. The aim of this paper is also to describe the communication activities of four thoroughly selected microbreweries and show the best communicating microbrewery in the monitored region. The first parts of the thesis describes the brewing segment, mentions the legislative limitations, that are specific for the segment and in the major part describes and compares the selected brands and their communication activities.
Using of Restraints in the Geriatrics
Lorencovičová, Eva ; Doskočil, Ondřej (advisor) ; Petr, Tomáš (referee)
In consideration of the demographic trends of our population, it is necessary to deal with the old age problems and problems of geriatric patients. The controversial topic of restraints, especially sensitive in association with old frail people, is closely related. The issue of restraints is defined by law. However, the ethical aspects of their application should also be considered. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the topic of old age and serious problems of this period of life, including mental disorders. It introduces the field of geriatrics and geriatric patients. In further chapters, this thesis discusses the restraints and ethical issues related to their use. By using qualitative research methods, the empirical part of this thesis surveys the attitudes of healthcare professionals towards this issue. It discusses specific restraints and the reasons for which they are used. The results show that the most important value of healthcare professionals is health and the most respected ethical principle is the principle of beneficence. Key Words: old age, geriatric patient, health risk, restraints, ethical principle
