Epidemiology of HPV occurence and possibilities of primary prevention in this field

Human papillomaviruses are etiological agent of large variety of diseases. More than 100 HPV types were found and HPV types can be divided into high risk group a low risk group of HPV. The most serious disease that HPV are responsible for is cervical cancer. Two different vaccines were developed to prevent cervical cancer. Bivalent vaccine Cervarix that is designed to prevent from HPV types 16 and 18, which cause about 70% of cervical cancer cases. Quadrivalent vaccine Silgard that prevents infection, besides HPV type 16 and 18, from HPV types 6 and 11 - types causing genital warts.
Most frequently used vaccines in connection with traveling abroad

The threat of the infectious diseases is still present and with the permanent increase of traveling all around the world it is getting more dangerous. In the thesis are listed the areas with increased appearance of the particular transmitted diseases and the options of their prevention. Besides the principles about vaccination in general there are mentioned the vaccination substances which are used in Czech Republic before traveling into foreign countries. By means of the questionnaire method I tried to survey the foreknowledge of population about the options of vaccination before their travel. The results of the research showed that the foreknowledge is high, however practically unused. The opinion that vaccination before traveling is important was dominant in all of the questioned groups. Despite of that less than third of the questioned people was vaccinated before their travel into a foreign country.
Malaria - global challenge.

When creating this work I have watched several targets. The first of these was to bring malaria as a disease in all its forms and all consequences that come with this disease may experience a bear, with special focus on the description of agents, mode of transmission, clinicaldifferences between images different types of malaria, treatment, and last but not least, to recallthe importance of prevention and intervention measures to limit the spread of diseaseand number of infected. I tried to show in addition to the medical aspect and socio-economic problems of this page, because a high incidence worldwide Every year malaria affects a relatively large percentage of the economically active population, but also children, pregnant women and seniors. The costs of their treatment and prevention other diseases in order to reach billions of U.S. dollars. In the second part, I paid particular attention to statistical data and the epidemiology of malaria in the last 28 years not only in Europe, special emphasis on the Czech Republic but also abroad. There isdocumented increase in imported malaria, mainly in Europe but also in othercountries. Predominant increase in imports to countries where malaria has been eradicated. I tried thus proving that malaria is indeed a global problem that is either directly or indirectly...
Positive and negative effects of hormonal contraception

This bachelor thesis deals with serious and very hot topic of hormonal contraception. Besides the history, current trends and methods of contraception focuses on the negative and positive effects on women's health. The particular emphasis is put on the issues of thromboembolic disease, breast cancer and environmental impact by synthetic estrogens. Among the positive effects there dominate reduction of the number of abortions, prevention of ovarian and endometrial cancer and positive effect on polycystic ovary syndrome and osteoporosis.
