Case management and its importance for a man with schizophrenia

This thesis is describing a context of case management for people with schizophrenia in the Czech republic. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to a system of the care of people with a mental disorder, its evolution and individual categories. The topic of the next section is schizophrenia, the most common mental illness among clients utilizing case management services. The last and crucial chapter of this dissertation deals with case management, its creation, models, principles and its aplication in the care of mentally ill patients. The last part also depicts phases of dealing with client, treats of the case manager, status of the client and the case management team characteristics. At the conclusion two dialogues with experts at case management are cited.

Burnout and awareness of it among workers in the helping professions

The diploma thesis deals with the problem of burnout and its linkage to the helping professions. The goal is to determine whether the performance of helping professions is riskier than the performance of non helping professions and if there is an awareness of the risk in helping professionals. The theoretical part is devoted to burnout in terms of its definition, causes, course, consequences, prevention and intervention. The theoretical part explains the concept of helping professions, too. The empirical part focuses on examining the degree of awareness of burnout among workers in the helping professions and non helping professions. Furthermore it examins their awareness of prevention and intervention and the perception of their own profession as being at risk.
