This work deals with the reflection of Russian civil war (1918-1921) in Czechoslovak society. It focuses on the media presentation of the warring oponents, on the changes of this image during the conflict, as well as on the contemporary war reporting and public awareness. It also explores attitude of different groups of inhabitants and representatives of the state, as well as the influences and connections between events in Czechoslovakia and Russia. The work is mainly based on the research in contemporary press and various publications.
Interbank contagion under the Basel III regulatory framework
Chleboun, Jakub ; Jakubík, Petr (advisor) ; Lešanovská, Jitka (referee)
This study assesses the impact of the Basel III regulatory framework on interbank contagion. It focuses on the direct interbank contagion that spreads via interbank foreign claims among national banking sectors. A balance sheet-based network model employs the quarterly consolidated banking statistics, collected by the Bank for International Settlements, to simulate the consequences of credit and funding shock under stressed market conditions. Compared to the Basel II, the Basel III regulatory framework reduces the probability of interbank contagion (following a simulated default of one banking sector) from 31% to 14% and lowers the impact of contagion by 63% in terms of average loss for a banking sector. The simulations under both regulatory frameworks show that relatively smaller banking sectors can trigger severe interbank contagion comparable to large banking sectors. Throughout the 2005-2009 period, the Basel III regulatory framework stabilizes the fluctuations of the scope of interbank contagion.

Numerical modeling of magnetostrictive materials
Kholmetska, I. ; Chleboun, J. ; Krejčí, Pavel
An operator-differential model for magnetostrictive energy harvesting proposed in the literature is used to calculate the amount of harvested energy under some uncertainty in the Preisach density function. The uncertainty is modeled through a fuzzy set approach. In galfenol, an alloy of gallium and iron, however, the hysteresis phenomenon is present only weakly. This allows to propose a simpler, but computationally faster model without hysteresis. The new, simpler model has been identified from the measured magnetic and magnetostrictive cycles. The amount of harvested energy is of the same order in both models. Again, an uncertainty in the identified model can be considered and its impact on the amount of the harvested energy calculated.
Spectral characteristics in fiber optics
Chleboun, Jiří ; Tejkal, Vladimír (referee) ; Šporik, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on the influence of attenuation and dispersion glass and plastic optical fibers in optical transmission system. Theory of optical transmission is discussed in the theoretical part, it is defined term like spectral attenution characteristic and its division into transmission bands. Sources and detectors are itemized further, which are used for optical transmissions in fiber optics. The thesis describes the most occured effects, which influenced transmission parameters of optical fiber, like optical attenution, dispersion and aspectual polarization dispersion. Theory of plastic optical fibers is processed at the end of theoretical part of thesis. It is also processed advantages, disadvantages and useage of plastic optical fibers and they are consequently compare with glass fibers. Comparison is focused mainly on attenuation, transmission properties and useage on these types of fibers in telecommunication. Representation of spectral attenution characteristics in programme MATLAB is practical output of the bachelor´s thesis. Created programme approximates points which are got from measure optical attenuation by the Lagrange interpolation polynomial.
Degradation test of polymer material
Chleboun, Jiří ; Gvritishvili, Roman (referee) ; Vaněk, Jiří (advisor)
Basic knowledge of photovoltaic energy transformation, devices and materials, used in photovoltaics are summarized in this master’s thesis. Sort of degradation factors and its consequences of the photovoltaic panels are described there. Detail reviews of degradation tests are processed at the end of theoretical part. The main purpose of this research is selected covering materials dielectric properties change monitoring. These covering materials were influenced of accelerated thermal aging and increased humidity.
Methodology for the measurement of optical arterial network
Chleboun, Jan ; Dostál, Otto (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
There are methods to extend the transmission channel of optical transmission medium thanks to the development of telecommunications and informatics. Multiplex is a grouping of signals into a single transmission path and wave-division multiplexing is the best reason of use of the maximum fiber optic transmission capacity. The subject of this work is to determine whether a particular transmission path is suitable for such an extension of their capacity and how much. The answer is obtained by measuring the attenuation, the chromatic dispersion and the polarization mode dispersion, whose values are strictly limited and which determine next steps in the expansion of the transmission path, which is comprised by optical medium. Measurement methods determine the nature of the measured route and its current transmission capacities. Draft of the measurement methodology, which ensures the correct procedures during a possible transition to higher speeds is the output of this work. Thanks to the acquired characteristics of the BAPS (the Brno Academic Computer Network), the bit rate 40 Gb/s can be provided on this part of the network under the conditions of the introduction of certain countermeasures, particularly the exchange of a connectors on the measured optical lines. As for the back reflection lines in excess of the standard recommendation and pre-emptively on the lines with values with still agree with the return loss. Countermeasure for limiting of the chromatic and the polarization mode dispersion are do not need to stand in the way of a planned transition to a higher rate of the BAPS.
Optical Convertors
Chleboun, Jan ; Dostál, Otto (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
Optical converters are used in various types of optical networks to provide end-users of data and voice services and also allow reception of television broadcasting, which is transmitted through optical media. The current trend is the construction of FTTH networks (Fiber To The Home), which, thanks to optical fibre, have reduced the speed or capacity, as in the case with metallic networks. The proposal is the need to consider positive and negative factors associated with building of concrete network with a specified number of users and location. Each network consists of passive and active components. Passive can be used for transmission of information, therefore they are mainly elements transmission medium. Active part includes elements for sending and receiving information transmitted by optical media. Transmitters vary their technical implementation, quality and reliability. This obviously affects the price of both active and passive parts. The cost of the operation of the network are also increased with demands of control. The advantage is the efficient management, which is guaranteed by return of the cost to build a FTTH network. Optical network with a system of remote management converters is a new trend of optical communications.
Programs and Algorithms of Numerical Mathematics 17 : Dolní Maxov, June 8-13, 2014 : Proceedings of Seminar
Chleboun, J. ; Přikryl, Petr ; Segeth, Karel ; Šístek, Jakub ; Vejchodský, Tomáš
This volume comprises peer-reviewed papers that are based on invited lectures, survey lectures, short communications, and posters presented at the 17th seminar Programs and Algorithms of Numerical Mathematics (PANM) held in Dolní Maxov, Czech Republic, June 8–13, 2014. The seminar was organized by the Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. It continued the previous seminars on mathematical software and numerical methods held (with only one exception) biannually in\nAlšovice, Bratříkov, Janov nad Nisou, Kořenov, Lázně Libverda, Dolní Maxov, and Prague in the period 1983–2012. The objective of this series of seminars is to provide a forum for presenting and discussing advanced topics in numerical analysis, singleor multi-processor applications of computational methods, and new approaches to mathematical modeling.
