Electoral support development for extreme right-wing parties in the Slovak Republic during the period 2010-2014 and the factors influencing the electoral support

Senior thesis "The development of electoral support of far-right parties in Slovakia during 2010-2016 and factors influencing this support" examines the development of electoral support of Slovak National Party and People's Party Our Slovakia using some of the tools of electoral support geography. The theoretical part is dedicated to existing definitions of extreme right-wing parties through which the choice of parties for further examination is made. The analytical part is split into two parts: the first classifies electoral support through the method of region and core of electoral support. At the same time, the first part defines regions which have had a stable electoral support throughout the entire observed period. All findings are presented in a cartographic form. Using an array of statistical tools, the latter part takes on the task of correlating the results of elections, in regards to far-right parties, with selected demographic characteristics of municiplaties, which are assumed to have positive impact upon the income of far-right parties.
The Influence of Czech fascism on National Democrats and its Forms

The purpose of the thesis is to examine the relationships between the Czech fascists and the National Democratic Party in all its forms. The thesis covers the analysis of these relationships and their displays. The author used analytical and comparative methods as well as available specialized literature and other sources. The dissertation is divided into four main chapters. The first chapter analyzes the fascist theory, its main characteristics and, in one of its subchapter, the specific Czech scheme for better understanding of the fascist environment during the First Czechoslovakian Republic era. The second chapter deals with fascists' actions and operation during the First Czechoslovakian Republic era. For important changes that took place in 1938, the political system of the so called "Second Republic" is briefly mentioned, as the political direction was extremely right wing oriented. The third chapter focuses on the National democratic party and analyzes the party's activities up to 1935. For better compression, the Czechoslovak political system is also outlined in this section. - Multiculturalism from the Perspective of the Czech Extreme Right The bachelor's thesis entitled "Multiculturalism from the Perspective of the Czech Extreme Right" explores how the term of multiculturalism is viewed and presented by the selected Czech extreme-right parties and initiatives, in particular Dělnická strana sociální spravedlnosti (Workers' Party of Social Justice), Národní strana (National Party) and Akce D.O.S.T. (D.O.S.T. Action). The thesis contains three main chapters. The first chapter presents individual concepts of multiculturalism. The second chapter focuses on the Czech extreme right scene and also on the process of selecting the parties and initiatives for this study. The last chapter presents specific views of multiculturalism by the selected parties and initiatives. The mail goal of this thesis is to test the hypothesis: Is the view of multiculturalism by the Czech extreme right parties and initiatives negative?
Islamophobia in the Czech Republic: Case study of "We Don't Want Islam in the Czech Republic" Initiative

Despite the fact that the muslim community in the Czech Republic is not so large in comparison with some other European countries, we can meet manifestations of isalmophobia even here. The initiave Islám v ČR nechceme (further referred to as The Initiative or IvČRN; translates We do not want Islam in the Czech Republic) belongs among the most significant representatives of Czech anti-Islamic scenes, but so far has stayed ouside the interest of political scientists. Ambition of the paper is to fill in, so to speak, the empty space. The paper concerns a case study submitting characteristic of IvČRN both from the organizational (persons, structure, activities, funds and means) and ideological points of view. Via qualitative analysis of text and audiovisual materials, whose authors are either individuals associated with IvČRN or IvČRN itself, according to the program Atlas.ti and based on Grounded Theory method I will specify the way IvČRN interprets Islam. I will also examine how the Czech political scene reflect on IvČRN, and what relation there is between IvČRN and the far right. Ne Bruselu-Národní demokracie: Radical conservative party

This paper analyses the interim evolution of the Czech political party National Democracy. The Party was founded in 2014 by renaming the political party Law and Justice to National Democracy. In 2014 it took part in three elections but have not yet attained substantial success. The National Democratic Party represents a new force on the far-right scene. The aim of the thesis is to determine whether it is possible to mark National Democracy as a radically conservative party. At the beginning of the paper are presented theoretical concepts on which to build further analysis of the party. Among them is for meeting the objective of the thesis most important the theoretical concept of radical conservatism of a Czech political scientist Jan Rataj. The next part is showing the political party Law and Justice, including its success in the elections and its presented values. The third part of the thesis outlines the founding and current development of the National Democracy. In a further part, space is devoted to persons in the National Democracy, to persons cooperating with the party and to the controversy that this party brings. Far-right parties in the European parliament

This thesis deals with the far-right parties in the European Parliament. Emphasis is placed on the situation after the elections to the European Parliament in 2014 and the post-election negotiations to create a single far-right political groups. The work introduces the theoretical concepts of the far-right, nationalism, anti-Semitism, racism, xenophobia, populism and euroscepticism. It also deals with the issue of the European Parliament, the formation of political groups and the character of the European elections. Far-right parties in the European Parliament are presented in a separate chapter, which deals with the history of their associating into political groups, the results of the 2014 European elections and negotiations about possible cooperation. Rhetoric and ideology of the far-right is presented on the example of three parties - the National Front, the UK Independence Party and the Golden Dawn.
New Anti-Capitalist Left: Classical or Modern Marxism?

The thesis deals with the "New Anti-Capitalist Left" (Nová antikapitalistická levice, NAL), a Czech group radically leftist group that had been established in Prague in the autumn 2009 under the leadership of Nikola Čech, who was a member of the organization World Revolution (Revo) at the time. Revo was considered to be a Trotskyist group. The NAL was concentrating to ideological work as well as attending academic seminars, demonstrations or blockades of far-right activists. It was organizing summer camps where there notable leftist intellectuals were giving lectures, and not only at these camps the NAL was able to establish connections to a fairly wide spectrum of leftist individuals and groups, it was especially cooperating with the KSČM (The Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia). Since approximately 2013, it the NAL was functioning besides a citizens' association Left Perspective (Levá perspektiva), since 2014 only the LP is active. The anarchist movement in Spain is the best known attempt to establish a regime based upon the anarchist theory of individual freedom and mutuality. As it is hard to say whether the attempt was successful or not, this study focuses on particular institutions such as unions, cooperative farms, militias and local administrations and examines the rate of anarchist principles in their real functioning. This bachelor's thesis concerns with analysis of electoral support of the Workers' Party of Social Justice (DSSS) in legislative elections of 2010. Results in individual regions of Czech Republic will be analyzed in the thesis, which will be followed by identification of the electoral support and finally, the influence of selected independent variables on election results of the party will be evaluated.
