Specifics of social work with Russia-Ukrainian war refugees from the perspective of Czech Social Workers in selected Prague organisations

The bachelor thesis deals with specifics accompanying social work with Ukrainian refugees related to the Russian-Ukrainian war. The theoretical part introduces concepts associated with this topic and social work with refugees in the Czech Republic. Then it contains the context of the situation where Ukrainian refugees arrive in the Czech Republic, their characteristics, and how the state sphere, non-governmental organisations and Czech society reacted to them. Also, social services provided to the refugees are discussed. The practical part includes an analysis of semi-structured qualitative interviews with social workers from Prague non- governmental organisations focusing on migrants.
Use of an intercultural worker in the process of educating children with different mother tongue at elementary schools in Prague

Intercultural work is a dynamically developing specialized profession primarily based on social work, specializing in the target group of migrants. In recent years, the services of intercultural workers have been gradually integrated into some nursery and primary schools, concerning the education of children and pupils with a different mother tongue. This phenomenon is the subject of the research part of this bachelor thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to a brief interpretation and conceptualization of selected terms and a description of the context of migration, asylum and integration policy in the territory of today's Czech Republic after 1989 The research part is qualitatively oriented using the method of focus groups with pedagogical staff. The subject of the interviews is a discussion on the characteristics of the role and use of intercultural workers at primary schools in Prague and ponder the question "how would it be possible to characterize the role of intercultural workers in relation to pupils with a different mother tongue, their parents (or legal guardians) and primary schools that demand intercultural work services?" Performance of social work in the system of assistance in material need

In my bachelor's thesis I describe social security in the Czech Republic, the organization of this security and also describe the system of help in material need, which is closely linked to the performance of social work and social workers of the department of material need of the Labor office in the Czech Republic. The aim of this work is to describe the methods, tools and approaches that were used by the social worker of the department of material need of the Labor office of the Czech Republic in case studies. Furthermore, the bachelor's thesis aims to describe case work with a client of social workers of the department of material need of the Labor office in the Czech Republic. Tools, methods and approaches that social work offers us. The individual work of social workers in material need of the Labor office of the Czech Republic is based on case studies, which are detailed described in the practical part of the work. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis on social workers working with migrants

Bachelor thesis explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis on well-being of social workers working with migrants in Prague, Central Bohemian Region, South Moravian Region and Pilsen Region. Theoretical part of the thesis defines basic terms and provides theoretical anchoring of the thesis. The empirical part of the thesis is represented by a qualitative research. The data have been collected via individual online or face-to-face interviews with social workers working in social services with migrants as a primary target group. Attitudes of Roma in the Czech Republic towards the surrounding society, towards people of the majority ethnic group and towards people with differences

The aim of this diploma thesis was to describe the attitudes of Roma towards the majority ethnic group and towards people with various differences. I tried to map the attitudes of Roma towards the majority ethnic group, their social distance to them, whether and to what extent they experience conflicts with persons of other ethnic groups and different social groups and how they view otherness. I created the work in collaboration with researchers from the National Institute of Mental Health (NUDZ) on the project The Stranger as a Symbol of Otherness - How Personality Affects Our Attitudes. The experimental group of Roma people had 15 respondents, the control group 55 respondents. I conducted the research using a Bogardus scale and a conflict-oriented questionnaire, and I obtained average values for individual items from the answers. Due to the different size of the experimental and control groups, I also used the analysis of the Mann Whitney test to determine the significance of the difference between the observed groups. The results led me to the conclusion that the degree of social distance of the Roma towards the majority in comparison with the degree of social distance of the majority towards the Roma is statistically insignificant.
